Wonderful selection of stamps, Jerry and definitely a bit of a bargan. I was surprised that there were so many stamps in mint condition. You don't usually find that in charity shop stamps, so well done! I have put a few notes that may (or may not) be of interest to you. 01:37 Although inscribed Fauna and Flora, the theme for 1993 is orchids, so these stamps all depict orchids (just in case you didn't know). 04:01 These stamps are Christmas stamps. Nollaig is Christmas in Gaelic. 11:22 Thses four stamps are from a booklet of greeting stamps. I think they were the first British greeting stamps and were the start of a long series of such stamps. There was another stamp with Cupid on. The booklets had 10 stamps with 2 strips of stamps of each design. 20:43 This stamp is actually from the French Antarctic Territories (French Southern and Antarctic Lands)
Hello Stephen. Thank you for the information about the stamps, most useful. I am glad you enjoyed the video, I am quite often to be found in charity shops looking for goodies on the off chance they may have something.
Thank you Jerry, this was a very enjoyable video. I think you got a pack of very good stamps, mostly excellent condition and many mint stamps and I also think it was worth buying. There were many lovely stamps e.g. 4:47 love flowers and butterfly; the other flower stamps from Ireland; 5:49 cute sheep; 7:21 sea creatures Alderney; 8:11 sailing ship stamps from Ascension Island; 9:03 lovely bird stamp from GB; British Antarctic Territory - beautiful blue stamp; 11:35 beautiful colourful stamps from GB; 1414 fish stamp from Ascension Island; 18:44 I also think this is a lovely stamp and artwork from Ireland; 18:51-19:10 bird stamps from Hong Kong; 19:49-20:06 fish stamps from Ascension Island; 20:35 penguins from Ross Dependency; 23:08 Fish stamp Tokelau. Mostly it seems as if I preferred the fauna, especially birds, and flora stamps as usual. 🙂
He Charnie. Thank you for your reply, I am glad you enjoyed the stamps. There were many nice stamps that feature animals and plants and a lot more in the bag, great buy, and well worth the £5 which is around 10.42 nz dollars.
@@jerrystamps Wow, only about NZ$10. In view of the excellent condition and variety of stamps you got it is REALLY a good buy! You are very lucky to have found this and in a thrift store of all places.
