One of the best channels out there, no paid ks promotion stuff, just honest opinions, kudos to you and keep the amazing work!
All true, but I can’t help but think the funds that allow the purchase of so many obscure games might be… ill gotten.
I don't know what this means but it sounds exciting
You possibly rob banks in your spare time haha
A mix of new and old so he’s not pushing KS hype. Appreciate his tough grading on mid weight games replay-able or not 😊
Videos like these underline the fact that yours is one of the very best board games channels out there. 🙌
Love this format. Get tired of spending over an hour. Watching everybody do my top 10 or top 100 games and groups of 10 and ends up spending way too much time
Amen
Brilliant selection of games on this list. Short, punchy, love it. I’ve watched 100s of board game reviews from the Dice Tower, Watch it Played, Board of It, SUSD, Foster the Meeple, BGG, Board Game Garden, Brother’s Murph etc. This is the first list where I’ve not heard of the majority of games. Nice and refreshing 😅
Not to say I don’t love the other channels too though ha!
Keep up the great work. I love getting straightforward thoughts, no fluff, just logic and insights. Thank you!
You are my fav reviewer on YT 😃
Great video! I like that you showed the front and back of the box as well as the brief overview. There were a lot of games I hadn't heard of before!
Excellent video, love this punchy format. One of the best top 100 coverage and many great games too. Thank you Dan. 🙂
Wow! What a great surprise on a random Wednesday in November! Thanks Dan! Long time subscriber! Really appreciate all of your input into the board game hobby! Looking forward to the updated top 100!
Great channel, great top 100 format. Surpised to see some big drops on some games, particularly underwater cities! Keep up the great work 👍
Always appreciate your content, Dan. I've been trying to catch up.. Thanks for a fun video!
Very well paced presentation. I have played/owned many. Thanks!
Excellent. Thank you
Love this format for a top 100. Thank you.
Love this format, it's great!
Well done thank you. I took some notes indeed!
Really interesting list including many games I haven't come across before, so thanks for that! I do want to say that all of your quick game summaries are excellent. Just enough information to intrigue me should I be inclined, and short enough to keep the video at a good pace. Cheers!
Loved seeing this all in one episode! Would be curious as to what games just fell short of making the list. As always, solid selection in your top 100. I counted about 30 of which I have also played and completely agree.
Outstanding video! The best board game channel in my opinion.❤
Great video! Very enjoyable to watch, thank you for making it. I really need to get Glen More II, to my table.
Great list Dan! Our tastes in games tend to align more than they differ so no real surprises here for me. I really do appreciate the quick hits format of this Top 100. It’s refreshing to just get to the business without a ton of preamble. That was a huge jump for Ra from last year. That deluxe edition looks super nice!
No Fluff Solo BG and 3 minutes BG also have helpful reviews. 😊 happy gaming 🤗
Love it!! Big fan, you are a true connaiseur!
Subscribed, it is refreshing to see someone with genuine love for boardgames that is not just pushing the new hotness. I enjoyed your video thank you!
I like the format. It’s a good tempo to be introduced to games that are highly regarded. I was surprised by how much could be understood from just seeing the back of the box. You did that well.
Great list. Great format.
What a delightful overview and list of great games
I am so pumped for this!!!!!
Incredible work man!
This was a welcomed surprise. Cheers mate!
ideal format. good video. good list
Best board game channel. Flawless selections.
i love how efficient the video is !
We’ll done. Love this format!
Loved the way you have prented quick and punchy top 100.
Hobby Doctor Games
A lot of these games I own because of seeing them featured on your channel!
Great list, all very similar to my favorites
Great to See Municipium getting some love! And Babylonia, it's also in my top 10 but no one else seems to love it as much as me.
I'll have to get Trajan to the table based on that being your favorite Feld, I own it but have not played. Luna and Aquasphere are my current favorites from him.
Once more. There is no other channel that fits my taste of games so well. 🙏
Great list, so many crunchy Euros. Love seeing all those Luciani games in your top 25. Pretty sure Nucleum will be up there when you get around to playing it.
So happy when you include games I've already purchased. I make sure those portions of the video are playing when my wife is in the room.
I know what I'm listening/watching on my commute tomorrow!
I like the format. Seems like a pretty safe list of popular games and euros from well known designers.
Great to see Caylus in there (and Hansa Teutonica etc). I love good, super-direct "surprise! - I'll just totally block you off there" gameplay :)
lovely to see Chinatown so high! well derserved. Great list man
thank you so much 🎉
Really enjoyed the video. Many games on there that I enjoy. I’m surprised Underwater Cities dropped so much but glad Stellar and Subastral crept into your top 100 as they are both great games.
So many great games, and many crossovers with my own, some of my absolute favorites being Praga, Tiletum, and Calimala. Also so great to see Caylus still getting some love.
Great video and I like this format covering a "century of games" in well under an hour.
Just curious - why the ranking gap between Samurai and Babylonia - perhaps you do view them as quite different given Babylonia's chaining element (I've only played Samurai of the two)?
Yeah pretty much. They do feel quite different to me
@@ChairmanoftheBoard Thanks, Dan - I will take a closer look at Babylonia - I used to think of it as a retheming of Samurai, which I now know is not true - I wonder if the chaining in B will more than offset my liking for the quirky scoring in S - I'll see.
Bravo - this is how you do a top 100!
Loved the one video and done format. We like a lot of the same games…I have played 31 of your top 100 and still own 23 of them. I was surprised to see Shipyard not in the 100 since I know you’re a big Suchy fan. Lacrimosa, Woodcraft, Ginkgopolis, Hallertau, A feast for Odin, Shogun, Iki, Colonia, La Granja, Macao, At The Gates of Loyang, Strasbourg, Snowdonia, Nippon, zanghuo, Signorie, Railroad Revolution, Lignum, Black Friday, Kashgar, Forum Trajanum are some of my faves that you might want to check out if you haven’t already. Cheers.
Great List! really enjoyed it, so many unique games! The only fly in the ointment was seeing Nippon didn`t make your top 100... `
3 minute style this yr...nice
Man, I've been wanting to play Amerigo 4ever!
Great list. So many crossovers with my list. Summer games are missing though.
I really appreciate you packing all 100 into one video. And you have some great games on here. I was surprised to see Babylonia so high. Don't get me wrong I like it a lot (just played it again a few days ago), but surprised it was that high. Maybe this video will help convince some of my friends to play it because I really struggle to folks interested in trying it.
Much better format than waiting for 10 games every three days or week. Thanks?
Nice list of games, many of them would find it onto my personal top 100. A little surprised there wasn't more games from Stefen Dorra. I have come to really appreciate his style of games. Light on rules but usually heavy on the player interaction with a good mix of strategy and tactics. If you get a chance, dig into his library of games. I would bet a few would make into your next top 100.
Great list. Suprised to find out about a third of games overlap with my top 100. Inspires me to check out some of the lesser known titles: Sylla, Citrus and Pergamon.
I have Lorenzo at Nr. 1 and Year of the Dragon at Nr. 5.
Great games precisely presented. Thank you! Would like to hear some short explanations, when a game has dropped or lifted highly.
Greetings from Germany!
Oh Dan, you spoiled us! 100 games in one video?!
Great top 100, pretty much exactly the same taste in games as myself. Great to see El Grande no.1...it's still mine too! Just bought Tiletum and Caylus(1303), so excited to play them both.
Really enjoyed those 52 mins ....cheers!
Well done sir! Love to see Ra rise so dramatically, that's a top 5 one for me. I really need to give Babylonia a go
Thanks for introducing games that are quite different from the other mainstream channels! After awhile I feel the MS ones are pushing all the similar games. Its nice to have. A fresh list of games!
Probably the best top 100 games if you looking for classic euro games.
Hi Dan, great content. Appreciate it highly - seems like the most genuine channel around (you and the grumpy one). Are there not any bag builder games to like? For example Orleans or Altiplano?
Thank you. Orleans is top 150. I've just played it one too many times to remain a top favourite
This list of games is incredible. Your collection must be insane for quality euros. I don’t k ow how you find consistent players to play half of those games, but you’re in good company 🤓
What a trip!
Great video! I love many of the same games. Have you played Clans of Caledonia? I feel like it gives you the best parts of Terra mystica. I also love El Grande especially at 5 players have you tried Tammany Hall? Some claim it’s an improvement.
I really love Tammany Hall but I've never played el grande. I didn't know they were similar... that will save me money!
I played CoC a long time ago. Nevermind player Tammany Hall
Great succinct video and lots of games to look into! However, the number of games where the lid wasn't lined up with the back print suggest deep psychological problems 😂😉
I think you have a soft spot for old beige boxes 😂
Great list. Nice to see Chinatown so high, I just did my own top games and it came at #6. Have you had a chance to try Dogs of War, Pipeline, Crisis or Age of Steam (all also high on my own list lol)
Haven't tried any of those unfortunately
Nice list, looks like you’re skewing more towards smaller card games this time around?
Anyways, considering Trajan is one of your favorite games, you really should take a look at “Crusaders: Thy Will Be Done”. Mancala action selection euro that takes 40-70 minutes to play. You can upgrade your mancala bowls, plop down buildings to unlock bonuses etc. It’s fantastic, and knowing your tastes I’m pretty sure you’ll agree!
wow 🤩 one video countdown! Understandably DT need to pay staff, run events. Entertainment vs game reviews/ advice
Yeah, it really is impressive how well #1 stands up to the test of time. Still a great game. :-)
I want to see a video on the top 100 dedicated card deck games.
I can do something like that

1. Bonfire - jak wzajemnie zazębiają się mechaniki w tej grze, to jest po prostu niesamowite !!
Loving all those old dusty euros!
Appreciate hidden gems / older games focus on mechanics instead of FOMO hype / pretty pieces / minis 😊
Great format. Some surprising big drops as others mentioned (underwater cities), some minor drops still surprising to me (Concordia kicked out of the top 10, blasphemy ha ha!). We have many crossovers (Hansa Teutonica, Russian/German railroads aka ultimate railroads, Lorenzo, etc. Surprised Revive is not in the list (fantastic euro). Cheers
I remember Revive was in his top100 when he reviewed it. I guess it felt off the list as rapidly as it came on
Oh yes, El Grande - fab game, great choice
So cool.
Great list did you check out Zoo Vadis (as a fan of the og Quo)?
I've ordered it with Cascadero.
I just bought Xi’an T. Army based on your review of that game. It looks great. Thank you!!!
Great job , I love having light on some of these classics,.. I think u might like Xi'an terracotta army...
You think correctly. Xian is a very good game
I wish I could double subscribe. You deserve more viewers.
Thank you. Unfortunately it's the hotness that brings in the traffic/subs.
Chinatown is the onlye game in my entire collection that EVERYONE I ve teach the game, end of loving it!
Great taste. I’d be interested to hear if you’ve played The King is Dead and Pax Pamir 2e. If so, are they anywhere near the top 100?
I think TKiD is an excellent game objectively but it's not quite to my tastes as I think the margin for error is too small for me
if you like El Grande so much, maybe you should try San Marco, a similar game but simpler to play and in just under 1 hour. But is hard to find OOP for many years
I really like your list. Got Babylonia and it was a hit. Also played Trajan tonight and enjoyed it (do you know if that is getting a reprint?)
Sidenote: I really like the look of the new “through the desert” reprint. If I own Babylonia is it worth owning both? One of the main differences I see is that it plays up to 5 instead of 4
I'm not sure about a Trajan reprint. I'm sure it's steadily been available so it'll likely get one. They are quite different so it's worth trying both (I've ordered the new version of TtD)
I listened to this list in one sitting and i cant remember everything. Is there even one Stonemaier's big hit on this list at all? and the 101-189 list? If not, i find that fascinating.
There isn't any. I've generally been underwhelmed by their games. Wingspan is fine, Scythe is decent. I didn't like Viticulture at all.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard understandable.
Cult of the new doesn't affect you! Good list
So glad to see a rise in Glen More II: Chronicles' stock over the past year. Did it make it to the table often in '23?
It actually didn't. I only managed to play it a couple of times but those times were a stark reminder of how good the game is
Ok here 🔥 🧡🙏🏼
Has Dragonkeepers dipped a bit after repeated plays? It was higher than Forest Shuffle in your previous 11 games ranked video. I don't think it was on this list. I am considering buying it that is why I am asking. Amazing video as always!
Dragonkeepers is on here (mid-eighties). I think the game is fantastic but I'm getting some feedback from people saying it's not hitting with them. I'm sure the lightness of the game will eventually make it sink a bit but that's the same with most games I play.
@@ChairmanoftheBoard honestly, I have no idea how I missed it. I didn't skip watch the video, promise😅
Hey there chairman do you have a website or like a link to your list. I want to check them out one by one if possible
I don't sorry. I have reviewed most of these on the channel though
Great games in the list.. love your top 100 games list - same was with last year list… u sold me soooo many games…. Vikings, Mandala, Nimalia (surprise to see this not making your top 100), Ra, Ohanami, Rapido, Forest Shuffle, Dragonkeeper, Splitter, Splendor Duel, Rumble Nation, Condottiere. But only thing i felt that just to list and discuss all 100 games in 1 video, you were too fast - seems in a hurry to finish it… It would have been good if you would have done 5 videos of 20 games each, proper justice could have been given to each game. Nonetheless excellent list and loved the same… will be checking out some games that you discussed in your 100 list
Outstanding video!! He must have played thousands of hours to know all 100 games this well. I'm impressed with this great looking guy as well ❤. I want to marry Dan and play games all day long.
For myself I like simple play games with High strategy. I create my own games as well. The #1 game in this entire list that is the simplest to play out of all 100 games yet has the highest strategy game you will ever play is...
Parade!
Cool format! Any reason you have Quo Vadis and not Zoo Vadis on your list? I’m also surprised not to see others acclaimed Knizia designs on your list (Modern Art, T&E, El dorado).
I had a question coming into this game… I got my answer: El Grande is better than Calimala :D
I've not tried Zoo Vadis yet as I much prefer the original theme. I have ordered it though, so it may be a direct replacement next year. T&E and Modern Art are both top 150. El Dorado probably top 200
Have you played any Vital Lacerda games? If so, what’s been your opinion on them?
I've only played The Gallerist and Mercado de Lisboa. I didn't like either unfortunately
With Ultimate Railroads being your #9, have you ever played First Class: All Aboard the Orient Express? If so, what are your thoughts and have you ever reviewed it on your channel?
I think First Class is excellent but I kind of categorise them both together. There is a review on my channel
Keyflower will always be my number 1
I think…you like Stephan Feld! Me too :)
