A critical point missed in the discussion is the use of a proper SD card. There are SD cards specific to Dashcams, it is important to choose these models. Problems with normal SD cards which is not designed for dashcams is, it will over heat in less than 15mins. and this will disable recording until the card cools down, which may take several hours based on physical conditions. Lorries are the lifeline of our economy. Although heavy vehicles are supposed to be driven on the left lane, it is not practical for lorries to be dangling with two wheelers and jaywalkers. They need to focus on fuel economy and load safety hence they can't apply brakes or make sharp turns. Lorry drivers are driving under very harsh conditions with lot of limitations. We need to understand their situation and constraints and we should help them as much as possible.

The KIA service centre in Coimbatore removed the dashcam connection and went for a 5 KM trial, which is unnecessary. I don’t know if it was a trial or if they just took it for another reason. The Dashcam is very helpful in other circumstances, but it’s helpless when it comes to service centres.

This is a must topic to talk about. Thanks for your podcast. I have the 70MAI Dashcam installed in my Kia Seltos, but I did not do the external hard wiring that goes into the fuse. I left my car for service at the Coimbatore KIA service centre, and they removed the Dashcam from the 12V power when they took the vehicle inside the workshop. When I asked them why, they responded, “Dashcam or Camera recording is not allowed”, but I’m not sure if they have it written in their terms and conditions. I did not argue about it too much, but I’m concerned if they treat our cars well. I’m planning to hard wire the connection, but I’m afraid they will either damage it or remove the power connection directly on the cam inside the workshop. I would appreciate any advice you can give me! Thanks.
The problem is not many OEMs provide a separate provision for installation of a dashcam. When people do it from aftermarket and if there is any issue the dealers would straight away disqualifies the warranty. I think it is time for all OEMs to consider providing it as a dealer level accessory with proper warranty

Honda city ADAS does steering correction and collision mitigation breaking as well! Dashcam adas systems can't do that! They can just give audio video warning! They can't do corrective action!
Wiring and itbshould not tamper the warranty... more over it takes the main power socket so manufacturer can give the wiring slot by default so customers can by the cam and just plug n play...

In this regard I like very much about traffic rules & discipline in America. All are well educated about traffic rules. No honking unnecessarily. Respect to the pedestrian crossing are few to mention. Our government should tighten the traffic rules. Police only concentrate on helmet and seatbelt. This is not enough. This has happened to me, near panruti to kadamulliur area is the worst area. As you said people in that area for money they make run goat, cow and elderly guys. One day One guy from siruthondamadevi village hit my car in side by his bike and started fighting with you. I am fighting with three guys and they try to attach my family elderly people, and try to attach me. i have called the police and they finally get 5000 rupees from me. For money they do anything. Those 3 guys are real thev***ya pasanga. It is not only case, it happen for more people travelling in that road bealt. Worst area and worst people in those areas. We need to fix the dash cam for sure

Leather seats are not suitable for Hot Indian Climate. Requires regular care as well. Fabric/Leatherette material is better suited I guess

Front & rear Dashcamera must be made mandatory for all manufacturers.
Tesla has surround view security record as inbuilt feature. Just plug memory card and activate and get secured.
