Everyone that was in theater class at Duncanville High School in 2007 in 2008 knows of Jonathan majors because he was in all of the plays and he was played lead never thought in a million years I will be seeing him on the main screen I know our theater teachers are very proud
I find it so interesting how Jonathan explained why he'll never watch any of his work. Most artists would want to see their work to pick it apart and critique it, but for him, it's all about the singular experience. He gives all of himself to each performance and once it's done, he walks away. He doesn't need to see it because he lived it. Beautiful.
I get that but as a producer and someone who is heavily interested in and intrigued by the storytelling I would want to see the finished and edited final product. A lot of the times, what’s been shot might not end up in the final edit. I haven’t seen his answer to why he doesn’t view his work but it seems it may be because he has a theater background and once the performance is out there it’s out there.
@@Msladyrae92 I agree with your assessment as well. Once he’s done it’s done and there isn’t anything you can do about the performance. I would love to know if he prefers films over live theater.
Great interview he was so comfortable with them. He always comes across as a person who to me that is weary of anyone who is not real or authentic. Like a window to their soul and he can't put those feelings aside...He's my Denzel right now
So true. I watched a few of his interviews, the one with Sway, is the most comfortable I've seen him(or at least that's how it appears). I didn't finish this one yet, but assuming he's just as comfortable.
This guy caught my attention with Last Black Man in San Francisco. I am from and continue to live in San Francisco so I definitely watched that movie. Jonathan Majors was brilliant in that movie. Then I watched The Harder they fall and daaammmmn he was unreal. I feel confident in saying that it was one of the best performances I have ever seen. He was brilliant. Now he is my favorite actor.
I'm in love with Mr. Jonathan Majors. The first time I saw him was on The Harder they Fall and he blew me away with his acting skills. I can't wait to see him in Devotion, Creed 3 and Antman and all of his future movie roles. He's a rising & shinning star⭐I'm rocking with him!!!
I believe Jonathan Majors is the next Sidney Poitier and Denzel Washington as an actor. When it’s all said and done I believe he will rank right up there with both of them on the list as one of the greatest actors of all time. I also want to make another comparison, he reminds me of a young Marlon Brando in terms of mannerisms on screen and complete mastery over his craft. He has the same improvisational ability of adding more to a scene than just what’s on the script and same technique of taking his time and searching for words on screen. His smile is even very similar to Brando too
I got to the end of the video….and wanted more. I wanted more time in this interview. Big hand claps. He seems like such a genuine soul. Van and Rachel are as great as ever, love them. This left me wanting to spend more time with the three of them. Wicked good conversations. I thank each of you for this
I'm ready to see Devotion very soon! Jonathan Majors is a vessel and rising star. I finally got the chance to see The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Jonathan stole the show. His performance was out of the box & his range is super insane!
Sorry I'm so late but actually joined because of THIS VIDEO !!! Before this I didn't know Mr. Majors was from Dallas. Thank y'all so much for THIS PHENOMENAL INTERVIEW ✊🏾
Man!! I have such a crush on him and I see why other than his body he's humble and got a superior mind!! I am excited for his MAJOR Season 😍 I pray he never falls off and continues just like his inspiration Denzel 🙌🏾
This brother and Ryan Coogler are two men I like how they carry themselves, glad he's doing so well, saw him first on Lovecraft country which I loved despite its flaws and wanted more of.
Profound experience just watching. Humbly I’ve always enjoyed Brilliant Actors who were more than just the shadow produced by the fires this social reality creates in the lives of people but this Jonathan Majors with his Sinscere Love for His Craft Discipline or whatever you call it really impressed me. The Chemistry between the Interviewers and Him was legendary as far as hood sh-t go. In this I saw the future of Black Men Acting on an Denzel Washington, Spike Lee, Westly Snipes, Morgan Freeman, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte , humbly the Roles HE CHOOSE will mode the lives of the next generation of BLACK CHILDREN into their adult lives like Malcolm X did for many. Look forward to enjoying many Great Moments in Dramatically Expressed Emotions. It was an Honor to watch you all! Black Minds in the 21st century are beautiful to C...
This was a wonderful interview, I love the hosts and I love Jonathan Majors. Just subscribed, notifications about on!!! What I love most about this interview, is it felt like it was friends coming back together after a long time. And I love the natural fluidity of that type of energy.
Damn. Jonathan used to be the bad kid? Who knew! Lol love hearing how he turned it around tho. Makes me more excited to see Creed 3 because it seems it resonates with his teen life a little
I am so proud of Jonathan Majors. He is representing well my hometown of Dallas, Texas. Sometimes we have to go through some challenges to get where we need to go, and I believe this is what has happened to him. Recently, he is going through an abuse allegation, and has been found guilty before he has been proven guilty. I do not believe the allegations are true, and I believe he will persevere in the end.
To think, these 2 had this very comfortable interview and Van didn't even follow the case enough to have a good reflection on case and interview. Just yelled about Coretta Scott
I was able to see Devotion the week after opening weekend. Appreciate this story being produced as a full length film! The theater mixed up the showings so I missed the first probably 10 minutes and was able to follow what's going on.
I was one of his teachers at Duncanville High School and I knew he'd be great one day! So PROUD of this young man!
Mrs. Williams
That’s so cool!
now that’s dope
Awesome
We love him so much!!❤❤❤

I think it's pretty cool too see people that you use to go to high school with become famous
One of the biggest regrets in life is that we will never see Johnathan Majors and Chadwick Boseman (RIP) share the screen together 💔
Maybe they have movies in heaven
Is this sarcastic? Weren’t they in a movie together Da 5 bloods.
@@growinggardener7840 I thought about that movie too, but I don't think they were in an actual scene together.

most actors don't watch themselves back
Many active or inactive actors (including myself) don't like to hear or watch themselves.
Still mad about Lovecraft Country but I’m so happy for his trajectory this far!
Jonathan BAE Majors ❤
HBO made a mistake letting that one go smh
it had so much potential to be multiple seasons. But I guess too much real history making whites look bad was too much for their tv screens
@@syckindahead It cost too much to make per episode, views didnt compare to episode cost.
So that's why I can't find it anymore to watch it again!! 💔💔
It is his comfort in his own skin and gentleness that’s so appealing. Something that should be considered high value.
It's amazing how everyone wanted a piece of his shine but nobody gave this man grace. What a world.
The Last Black Man in San Francisco is simply one of the greatest films ever made.
And nobody seems to have watched it … flew under the radar
That movie made absolutely no sense to me
No it wasn't, it was barely intelligible
@@yusufabdulle7349 I think it was on you to understand it.
Veriii gorgeous film..
I love Jonathan Majors, such a gentle spirit and great actor.

BIG FACTS I noticed that too in regards to your point of him being around authentic/inauthentic people.
I love watching him do things like this, he seems so comfortable around people he can relate to. "RUDY'S CHICKEN"
Majors mentioned working at Starbucks. It was the starbucks inside B&N in Cedar Hill. I remember him working there

Jonathan Majors is such a cool guy, real relaxed, chill vibe about him, great interview 👏
