I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.
Lisa said she wanted the choreography to be catchy and friendly for anyone to dance to. Surprisingly, I wasn’t disappointed. Everyone expected a hard choreo, myself included, but for some reason I’m perfectly fine with this. We all know what she’s capable of 😊

I love how there are still smart people on this earth. It's crazy, we know Lalisa skills, lilifilms are proof. She doesn't need to prove a damn thing. The thing is with BLACKPINK , no matter what they do, ppl will find anything to hate on these women.

same. I mean it's different when you're in a group and when you're solo cuz you'd have to do everything and must distribute your energy equally.
Everyone were suddenly expert in choregraphing dande and so on. I mean yes she is the main dancer, but she is a soloist now, she is the main in every aspect. Plus her dance are enjoyable to watch because her stage presence and face expression are there. Basically, she's like the 2nd generation idol where they don't really care about dance but just walking and jumping because stage presence > choreographer.

Having expectations from a person is not wrong. Everyone expected something from her. And the choreography ofcourse Everyone was expecting hard choreo since she os the main dancer. If she would have done less with the vocals we wouldn't be surprised if she wouldn't have done much good rapping too we wouldn't be surprised but the thing is the choreography and the dance which we were expecting from her is not good. Ofcohrse Everyone will judge it will be disappointed. Her dance is enjoyable to see. But this is gonna give her a huge downpay. What if in the future she will not get awards for her songs.her solo will be all wasted.

I think Lisa thought of making a more simple choreo for the chorus so that more people can dance to it hence the “LALISACHALLENGE”
That dance of hers has gone viral, people complaining that the dance was to easy and had expected more, well all I can say I don't know what they watched but that synchronization was on point and you don't achieve that level without a lot of work been put into it and she also wanted to create a Tik Tok dance that her fans could do, well she succeeded because EVERYOEN is doing it and posting it to TIK TOK. The M/V for MONEY is pure HIP HOP and YG confirmed there is a major dance break in it
I think that maybe this coreo is more easy for her because she’s solo so she have to do all the work (sing, rap, dance... and remember to breathe 😅). In my opinion, they could put a dance break (maybe in the beginning of that “Thai influence” part) for her to showcase her hardcore dance skills. But she looks amazing either way. ❤️

Lisa has been praised for her excellent dancing skills by many professionals and dancers already yet other people still dont see how good she is at dancing. Lisa's dancing technique is not based on power, force, or exaggeration, which in fact many kpop idol dancers possess, which is why often times, many of them tend to lack control on their upper body like their shoulders, or there are certain poses wherein they look awkward, because they get used to dancing with force a lot, altho that clearly depends on the dancing style of idosl. But its rare to see idols and dancers in general have the perfect balance of versatility when dancing different genres. Dont get me wrong a hardcore dancer can dance fluid dances but they still tend to add the elements of hard dancing, thats why sometimes they look a bit off when dancing with body rolls. Lisa's style is more fluid, sharp yet perfectly controlled, and she never fails to execute the choreography in a mathematical sense, meaning every single angle of her dance steps is a a chef's kiss. She is the true definition of a perfectionist when it comes to performance and it actually shows, because she always knows the right kind of facial expressions to incorporate on her moves and she is such a consistent performer. With her tall height, model-figure body proportion, and her incredible skills to bring her alpha self on stage, i cant even find the right technical words to explain further how amazing and incredible of a dancer and a performer Lisa Manoban is.
This performance is so good to watch because the contrast of body lines and costumes are crisp and always on-point

i love about this choreo especially the chorus its simple yet they emphasize she have a beautiful body dance line. alot of body extension that actually its hard to achieved requires control sharp and clean execution which is her strength.

First of all, i found myself that i'm now waiting for yr reaction to this special Lisa's stage❤ l love yr comments with yr expertise on the chorograph.
I agree the dance moves are simple and easy for Lisa but when I watched some dancers doing the Lalisa challenge it didn’t look as smooth and effortless as hers. She made it look so damn easy everytime. She just has something others can’t replicate.

Admittedly yes I definitely expected something more complex but am appreciating as you said, the power and simplicity of it, much more the more I watch it. The ending was always amazing especially the Thai influenced part 🤯
Just my understanding, normally for a solo, they dont do hard choreos coz they have to sing the whole 3 minutes. Unlike for group songs, they can rest a bit when they're not the focus of the camera, but for a solo, you have to command the attention the whole duration of the song, plus sing and dance. So it makes sense to me that there's minimal hard choreo on solo songs.
Lisa herself said on Woody interview the dance is quite simple so everyone can do the challenge but i love it it's simple creative and effective shows off her stage presence
This choreo definitely fits the song and music for me...considering she needs to sing and dance alone all through out the song. And this choreo was made for her fans to learn and enjoy.... All of us might expect more and harder choreo from Lisa but everything happens for a reason. What sets Lisa apart from other dancers is not how hard she moves but how she executed those moves.
If anyone is complaining, then they don't know Lisa that much and that's a Pity.... Waiting for Money choreo though cuz I can feel that one would be HOTTER🤑😁

As this is Lisa's solo debut the choreography is "easyer" so that people can be a part of it, join in with her. I think their attack is just right given that the idea is to create a craze of dance challenges hence the "just minimal but catchy" dance steps. Also, it would really be hard for her to do more complex dances while going hard with the singing and the rap parts. However, she did say that Money will have a dance break. Now that we can look forward to more complex dance part. 🥰

I mean not only is it smart to make Lalisa both singable and danceable, but when she has to sing a long song totally on her own and dance all the time, I'd rather not see her pushed so far the quality suffers. Why? Because at this point everyone knows to have high expectations for Lisa, so hard-hitting at the expense of quality would get much bigger negative reaction from the audience.
Loved this choreo as a whole but out of three solos, I think Rose's On The Ground choreo is the most interesting one. Loved this choreo regardless. Smooth & flawless.
