    I'm an auto mechanic by trade and felt that this job was doable by me. (I'm basically a jack of all trades) A very good tutorial and he provides a lot of "finishing" points that otherwise I may have overlooked. I'm feeling a lot more confident now tackling the job! Thanks for making this video!

    Watched all three vids. Good tutorial. It helps when the guy doing it is a rookie too so all sorts of points get passed along that may otherwise get overlooked or understated.

    Great video. Makes me appreciate and be ok with just paying the money to have a pro do it.

    Excellent job and thank you for taking the time to share. My son has a pool table that needs a little love, and his mother and I were considering buying him new felt and bumpers as a Christmas gift this year to provide his table with some new life. I watched your video, and now have the confidence to move forward with the plan. I think this will make a great Father/Son project; I anticipate that the time we spend working on this will be the more cherished part of the gift. The amount of detail you put into the video was "just right". I look forward to watching your other videos, and again, thank you and God bless you.

    Great detailed video, thanks for this. I watched other videos on this subject from professionals that do it everyday, but i learned more and used your tips to get the job done.

    It wouldn't surprise me if you didn't build those pool cues behind you. Good job sir, you did an amazing job for your first time. Im a billiard repair service man, been doing this work for 5 years. You learned more on your own than one of my trainees can pick up on in a week.

      I made sure Patrick got your comment, that is very kind of you! Though he can and has made many wood products of all kinds, the cues came with the table :D

    Thanks for the great demonstration.. can you tell me the brand of table you were working on?

  • @brendanmac
    @brendanmac 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    If you do the rails before replacing the bed cloth, you don't need the blanket, you can use your old cloth to protect the table.

    What type of bumper is be used for pool table? There are different types (K66, K55 & U23 etc) in Amazon. Not sure what difference they are.

      Haha! I just edited a video about a dryer repair he did and I noticed he used one of my thread scissors! I will forgive him, he did not know that is what those ones were for :D

    Fantastic details. 🙏 Where did you buy the bumper online. Is there a “make your own pool table supplies” store? Thank you

      I think he found all of it on Amazon. I do not recall as the pool table series is a few years old but I think we may have put links in the description box

    I replaced te bumper of my Brunswick tablet, but the balls jumping when go speed, what can i do?

    • @MrRain-hk4zi
      @MrRain-hk4zi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Carlos, is it possible you wrapped or stretched your fabric too tight thus distorting the bumpers? It sounds like you may have installed the bumpers upside down. The bumpers are designed for impact of the ball to be around 3/8" above center. To verify, place one on the table next to the bumper and you will quickly see if the bumper is above or below center of the ball. You want the bumper ABOVE center of the ball. Hope this helps!

      I read on some forum that using current rubber on old Brunswick requires to change angle of the wood before gluing the rubber to avoid the problem you identified.

    I see you're using DAP WELDWOOD Contact Cement for the rubber rails. My questions are...
    1. How Long Did You Have To Wait For The Gluing Process To Dry or Get Sticky Before You Actually Applied The Rubber Rails To The Wood Rail Frame? and...
    2. How Long Did You Actually Wait For The Rubber Rails To Stick To The Wood Before Wrapping The Cloth Around The Rubber Rail?

    Love the Bible verse at the end. It is more important now than ever before for those who believe in Him, Jesus Christ, to profess their faith.

    Wouldn’t a hacksaw blade be a better choice to cut the bumpers

    • @MrRain-hk4zi
      @MrRain-hk4zi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe a hacksaw blade would work. The trick to cutting rubber is to slightly "open" the cut or kerf to relieve binding but not stretch the rubber to the point it distorts your angle you are trying to achieve. I found the knife to work nicely. Thanks Greg.

      Try a sharp fillet knife, trick is to lubricate cut with soapy water. Cuts like butter and you can match an edge nicely with minimal sanding.

    Where's the best place to buy the bumper rubber and table cloth?my cloth has more scratches in it than the law allows bought it second hand and appears to have been in a marathon pool ternment lol it's old too really old and doesn't have that wood under the slate pieces funny bought it from a worden from a jail out in California so if the table was in California my chances of getting cancer from it I hope is low ha ha

    The video stops short of actually replacing the felt.

      That is because THIS video is about the bumper replacement, the felt is in a separate video. This is from a multi part series as noted IN the video. Here is the video on the felt replacement: th-cam.com/video/UoR95Uz4m0U/w-d-xo.html
