All things considered is the GTI 6 worth buying over the GTI 5? I watched the things to look out for video and all talk of chain failure has me wondering if its better to stick with the 5. Any thoughts?
It all depends what you want from the car. From an engine tech perspective the G6 GTi (not Edition 35 & R) is way ahead of the G5 GTi due to it being based on the new EA888 engine platform and the G5 off the discontinued EA113. So the G6 will yield better fuel consumption and overall is a more refined car. I will definitely not sell my G5 for a G6, purely because I've spend too much on preventative maintenance (still ongoing) and wouldn't wanna do it all over again on a G6.
yeah, this is a perfect starter-performance car for a young person. It's cheap to buy and have lots of parts available, it's also not too fast. The only factor that should be kept in-mind is that maintenance and servicing is more expensive than normal aspirated performance car, so budget for this accordingly.
@@martinfilimonov9601 Hi man, i am 20, i bought a GTI MK5, it runs pretty well, you can add some options using the VCDS, It's not too expensive, very reliable car, i recommand
Hi, I’ve got an MK5 Gti and it showed an “engine oil pressure” warning sign. I already had the car’s sump cleaned and pipes unblocked but the sign came back again. Would you recommend getting a major service done?
I doubt a major service will make any difference. What oil are you running and are you using the oem oil filter? The mk5 gti's are very sensitive to oil. I suggest taking it to someone who can hookup an oil pressure gauge for you and then monitoring the oil pressure. I would also scan the car for errors, it might be a faulty oil pressure switch. this switch is located on the plastic filter housing. under which driving conditions does your pressure light come on? I recently tracked my car and after 7min of hard driving my oil pressure light comes on, I'm attributing this to the oil running too hot.
You are the first one that tell us to pull the orange tip back. Great work!!

Interesting that you chose a W40 oil. Any specific reason? All the official sources I can find, including LiquiMoly and Shell indicate a W30 oil.
Thanks buddy
Happy to help

It might be your oil pressure switch
A helpful video but don’t bother with the syringe part mate, just put oil on your fingers and rub it on, which you then did.
