It’s not the first time Mahe’s been beaten here at Henley. There’s a long history of many great scullers being defeated on this tough course. A course you must train properly for, if you’re going to do yourself justice.

I can smell these packs of rats coming out of their dirty holes and just talking online about how bad Mahe's performance had become -
the same rats that had given standing ovations for him in last years final for beating Kjetil Borch in the second half of the race coming from far behind. ...
And not to forget: that Kjetil should become the later World Champion of that season just 2 month later
I can't wait to go on the hunt for rats to shut their mouth. Mahe deserved a place on the single as last years champ and in the nzl eight by his performance - or who believes that in nzl team an underperforming former champion gets a seat guaranty?
And Mahe won't fit in a cox seat even if he would be a great cox, strong voice, good race feeling and good view. If he is qualified he deserves our respect for still achieving exceptional results. And of cause I'm no Kiwi but I'd go with Olli Zeidler and his steep learning curve.

Unexpected from a paper perspective. But if you followed the announcement from Mahe on the Fisa-TH-cam-Channel: "... stand on top of the podium next year ..." (in the olympic year, in the mens eight), and you following rowing a while, you noticed that is far from realistic. If it would be his dream, Ok. If he would be 22 years old, Ok. But that experienced rower, giving that as a realistic goal .... lost the ground contact. Good luck Mahe, Hamish and the Kiwi eight!

Guess that’s what happens when your main discipline is sweep rowing in an 8

Listen here boy, Drysdale is the single sculls Olympic champion and has more experience and knowledge in the 1x than probably any other Olympic rower. He only just started in the 8, it’s not his main discipline by any means
