Thank you for this video. As an artist (photographer/watercolourist) who's work has been stolen - going legit really resonates. I'm new to the BJD community and I went for the grail right off the bat. Saved up and waited. And now my doll is on the way!!
I must be honest opening each new legit doll so far makes me so happy. The quality of each doll is great and the posing is so much better right out of the box. Only one that gave me gray hair was Resinsoul Ya's posing was horrible, because I didnt realise she is single jointed and she was strung too tightly.
My Doll Leaves Teresa is not a starter doll for me. She is my favorite one, I kinda dislike the stigma there is in this community that if you aren't buying artist or spending 300+ on a bjd, it's just a "starter" doll and not as good. I know this wasn't your intention with this video I just want people to know that owning a Company doll is just as gratifying and satisfying as owning a artist one😊
I really didnt mean that at all! I made the video with dolls like Minifees in mind, which are the most common recasts. And when I say artists, I also mean companies, because companies are only 1-10 people anyways, and are also small artists. I apolgize if this video felt like I dont think company dolls are anything but starter dolls. I also love doll leaves, true love and dollzone for example.

When I was getting into the hobby months ago I noticed when I was asking what were my options people said: cheap company dolls or save up for an artist doll I'll love for a long time. I was like "why wouldn't I love this company doll for a long time when people are obsessed with minifee? Is it the price?" And then I got my girl and I have been obsessed with her since lol! And all the money I saved from buying a cheaper company doll let me invest in clothes(tons) and a huge diaroma I made! 😊
I agree so much you don't have to 'step up' from cheaper dolls. My first doll was a Minifee, which was quite expensive. All dolls I bought after her are quite a bit cheaper than her and I don't care. I own them because I love them, not because of their pricepoint :)
You do know recast dolls have their own communities to right? I don't buy bjd but if I did I would be ashamed to be apart of such a bullying community.
