Christopher Frost EXACTLY what I thought just now! I’m glad to see that kind of joyful, irreverent humour still around to enjoy in younger generations.
(Took me a few minutes to write down the lyrics, if anyone notices a mistake hmu I'll fix it) Once again, the season is upon us For making merry and consuming food and wine But the endless obligations make you want to scream and run And the growing queues at supermarkets take away the shine! The family wants to see you, as do all your friends And you're left fighting for your personal space And the pub that you frequent has been overrun By a bunch of Christmas drinkers who need a good punch in the face! (if the pantomime continues all the decorations hang, the same songs are playing on repeat again) Just take a breath and steel yourselves You've got to do this all once more And it wont do any good now to complain! So try to smile and nod this Christmas And pray that you'll get through it all somehow May all your Christmas days end without turmoil or distress Just carry on through gritted teeth and furrow brow! Let there be money still left over, when Christmas time is through And may the television binge, that Christmas boredom always brings, lead to a tolerable New Year too! Expectations for the festive season, are very rarely met Yet we all insist, this year must be one never to forget But if we're truly honest, it's all a great big haze Because we started drinking on the last day of work And carried on for five whole days! There's pressure to join in, with all the forced festivities But other times would clear a party out for sure But because grandma always loved them, god rest her little soul They seem to be traditions that we'll all have to endure! You fiercely disagree with the in-laws politics But it's Christmas so you cannot make a scene And it makes you want to heave, kick him in the balls and leave When he launches into tirades both obnoxious and obscene! (Yet the visits you can handle if they don't go on too long and there are subjects that you know not to go near) Just think of the leftovers you'll have for the next few weeks when you'll be free from all this for another year!
This is how I feel about the holidays anymore, but I miss when I was younger and getting together with my family and just spending an afternoon with relatives I sometimes did not get to see the rest of the year or very often. Our Christmases never tried to be fabulous or grand, but there was always tons of good food, a warm house, games in the snow outside and friendly, familiar conversation. Sadly, I live in another state now, and none of my family lives here.
You made my day bro. Whole day in the office with the pop-radio on (which I have no authority to turn off) driving me insane. Nice to see there are good christmas songs out there :)
Thank you for my new addition to my HallowThanksMas playlist, joining Stan Freeberg's Green Christmas and Tom Lehrer's Christmas Carol- remember, Christmas has two asses in it and they are both signs! Christmas time is here by golly, disapproval would be folly. Deck the halls with hunks of holly. Fill the cup and don't say when Kill the turkeys, ducks, and chickens, Mix the punch, drag out the Dickens Even though the prospect sickens... Brother, here we go again! On Christmas Day you can't get sore Your fellow man you must adore There's time to rob him all the more The other three hundred and sixty-four
The Spouse works retail and I've worked the advertising side of newspapers. I'm typing this in mid September, and yesterday he texted me a photo of the Christmas trees that are already have out for sale. In retail-driven media, the avalanche of holiday season promotions starts in July with the back to school events, and ratchets steadily higher through Halloween, Thanksgiving, (special recognition for the hell that is Black Friday) Christmas, and New Years. You don't get a breather until after New Years Day. It's all just a massive capitalist feeding frenzy that goes on for months. We hate the holidays. We spend Thanksgiving day and Christmas day at the zoo, and eat cheeseburgers from the concession stand. It's become our family tradition.
Dam it, this is going to make me sound soooo old but the banjole reminds me of Tessie Oshea and I distinctly remember her playing a paper bag, which I'm perfectly sure you're talented enough to do as well. Oh yes and there is a most definite sprinkle of Eric Idle, I do like the tongue in cheek attitude of your performances and the choice of songs, glad I found you. 😀🎶
That is the most awesome Honest song I have ever heard I respect and request this man to do more if he doesn't I wouldn't be mad however hats off to you my friend.
Finally, a christmas song that totally encapsulates my feelings for said holiday.
Then let a socially distanced Christmas be the one good thing for you in 2020! 😉 It is for me.
The Introvert Christmas Anthem could be a great title for this too. Lol
I love this guy. He sings everything a lot of us are thinking.
My thoughts exactly!
Try Chris Rea's Joy of Christmas.
This reminds me of Eric Idle. And thats a huge compliment
Christopher Frost EXACTLY what I thought just now! I’m glad to see that kind of joyful, irreverent humour still around to enjoy in younger generations.
@@SgtKenway I agree wholeheartedly
I have "Always look on the bright side of life" as my wake-up alarm. I might need to replace it with this for the holidays. 🤣
The Universe Song!
Yes mate I love the optimistic pessimism
You are a national treasure, and the Belles are a beautiful serenade of sanity. Thank you all, and have a Merry F***ing Christmas. :)
National? This man is an international treasure.
This needs to be replayed on the radio every. freaking. year.
You've worked retail, haven't you? Cause telling customers what they are, is a sure fire way to get yourself FIRED.

Wow great work. Thank you
Well done!
great work, to me the last line says "tolerable new year too", instead of "tune", but that's not a big one, could be either one really
I actually feel like that makes more sense than tune, thanks.
This is how I feel about Ramadan, Am not even joking. Ramadan is mix of lent and Christimas.

This is the first Christmas song I've heard this year..... it's a good start 🙃
A Beautiful Christmas Bah Humbug to unwrap and enjoy through New year, Semper Fidelis !!!!!
Not the Christmas song we wanted, but the Christmas song we needed.
i see what you did there :)
I wish I had 5 days straight off work to enjoy Christmas, but nope, right back in the next day
If you get one day off youve got a leg up on me
Gotta earn those dollars the Fed keep destroying the value of so you can pay off your governments debt. 😆
Well that's a bummer
This is the best anti-Christmas song I’ve heard all day!
th-cam.com/video/w9tWsfQiTQE/w-d-xo.html
It's like you read my mind! This is exactly how I feel about the *entire* holiday season!
The Christmas song we all need ❤️
Still one of my favorite christmas songs!
To all those like myself that finally moved far enough away to not have to participate 🥃 cheers
There are so many years I could've used this song. Thank you very much to everyone involved with this lovely, comedic ditty.
I was in a very bad mood, and then this song made me smile again.
You made my day bro. Whole day in the office with the pop-radio on (which I have no authority to turn off) driving me insane. Nice to see there are good christmas songs out there :)
This and The Staves' Home Alone Too are my favourite Christmas songs.
I like "The London Belles". Oh, Thomas is also rather good. Cheers. Emery Chrimbo...
The loveliest Christmas Belles I have seen.
Aha! A holiday song I can get behind.
Great song brilliantly performed👏❤️
Oh I just love this......now where is the Monty Python gang hiding? 😀😀😀

On Christmas Day you can't get sore
Your fellow man you must adore
There's time to rob him all the more
The other three hundred and sixty-four
There should be a behind the scenes video of this.
Microscopically patronizing, nice catchy tune 👌🙂☺️
Will be my Xmas song this year!
I know SO many friends who need this song!
Finally a Christmas song I can relate too
I hope you’ll do more work with the Belles. Great collaboration here.
Oh goodness me. Lovely. Just lovely 😍🤣😍🤣😍🤣😍💖💖💖💖
Excellent, but just like Christmas it just goes on for a little too long
My new favorite Christmas song!
Thank I need this I feel better after hearing this song

This is one cheery chap singing a very weary song.

You can apply this priceless advice to any life situation 😊
Ready up boys and girls. We can do this
At last. A proper adult Christmas song ! :)
"It makes you want to heave, kick him in the balls and leave" 🤣
Thank you recommendations. I'm in love
So glad that it's not just me!
Thank you for the laughs ! I will be playing this while spending time with the fam
Those ladies are so gorgeous
This is a holiday classic in my house. Well done 🎄👏🏻👏🏻
It's still a bit early but I came because I love Thomas! Also his face at 4:43 !! XD
Under normal circumstances I would love to follow your advice to smile and nod - but i have no more fucks to give :)
Oh man I'd love to play this at our ukulele get together on saturday lol. Love it.
May God give me strength
I work in hospitality, you could imagine my thoughts
The other Chrismas song is better.... I have no more F... to give. Great stuff as always.
That's not really a Christmas song but I agree it's a good one.
Keep up the good work of putting smiles on my face
This is the only christmas song I approve off

Why, thank you for the comparison! I'm a big fan of Tessie (and Eric Idle!) I may need some practice with the paper bag...;-})
Love how one of the Belles loses her hat at :29 and no retake!
This is so Python-ish!
I love it!
If they ever make another Monty Python movie, you would be a great addition.
Best Xmas song since 1973 ... (Slade: Marry xmas everybody)
My ex's mother sent me here. This was worth the trip.
Best Christmas song I have ever heard!
That is the most awesome Honest song I have ever heard I respect and request this man to do more if he doesn't I wouldn't be mad however hats off to you my friend.
Finally a Christmas song i actually enjoy... Damn... Lol thank you
This is the most glorious thing!!
This song seems to 'SCREAM' 2020... Minus the social gatherings... Of course... We'll all get drunk, together, over Zoom...
What a wonderful early Crinbo pressie! London Belles and Tom I thank you both!!!
Exactly how I feel about the whole ridiculous season 😂 great song, great video! All the best from another New Zealand fan 💚
Watching in 2020, from COVID plagued USA. With extra whiskey in the eggnog.
First christmas song i have listen to this year and it's awesome now I shall not have no more Christmas songs until after Thanksgiving hahaha
yet another song to add to my own christmas playlist
I love a song about the real meaning of Christmas. 🤣
Thanks for this to keep us sane in Christmas 2020 :D
You speak right to my soul.
Love the girls singing with him. They sound and look great.
Outstanding work my good sir! And the Belles were exquisite!
The Christmas spirits can help, scotch, gin, and brandy!
This is the best anti-Christmas song since "The 12 Pains of Christmas"!!!
Aaaaand I'm off to Google that. 😊
Nicely done Old Chap, and Chapettes 😂😂😂
World's best musician.
I like this. Thank you. Great song and a pleasing video. Best wishes from your New Zealand fan club.
You're amazing Thomas! :D
This guy needs to do the score for the next Tim Burton movie. Cheerfully depressing/dark
just cant get enough. Keep up the great work.
This song is even more true in the era of COVID...
Oh god I needed this! 🤣
At last, a Christmas song for me
Happy Christmas, lads! I hope this year we don't have too much to smile and nod about, and we can laugh and sing!
This makes me a bit more cheerful, and that's a huge compliment because I am a loud and proud asshole.
Brilliant! Thanks for giving me a big smile!
Keep up the good work
Love it, love it, love it.
Great song
Just like New Year in China, this is a common problem, we all feel the pain of gather around.
I know what you mean. 🇨🇳
