God I wish Reykjavik eyes did a sunclip 😅
Great options if you are looking for one frame that does it all. My pick would be the Eco frame, I like the simplicity of the magnetic attachment and the clean look of not having metal clips wrapping around the lenses.
I have the Ahlem's clip for my Petit Palais and this is the most beautiful clip i have ever seen. A clip with exceptional quality like the frame and even above. The only difficulty is to clip on it because i have -6.00 myopia so the clip has less space on the metal :/ but I still bought it just for the amazing frame and clip 😂
I have a couple of social media pages I own with a tick over 100K members, 80% active. I'll start sharing you on the page. You have a great channel.
I like the thought of a magnetic clip. And they looked good. Especially for the price. Nobody wants fiddly to attach it like the other pair
Anglo-American and Masunaga for me❤.
I own a clip-on Lunor frame, but due to not a very accurate correction and the fuss of putting on and taking off the clip I use it mainly for sun protection. I have a plan to change the lenses and give it a proper run to benefit from the functionality).
Thanks very much for another inspiring video!
Can you make a video of trending glasses in 2024
I love this video and the frames that are mentioned. The way you talk about the brands really shows your passion for eyewear and I appreciate the effort you put into making these videos!
Thank you so much!
Wow, what a line up. So many to choose from. However, I would have to go with the Ahlem. Clips are incredibly fragile, and as a guy who doesn't carry any kind of bag, I've always had trouble finding a safe place to put my clips. The folding design makes these clips the only practical choice.
Fantastic as always 😊
Great video Robert! I love my Lunor sun clip. Unrelated to glasses, but I want to ask where is your blazer and shirt from? It looks great!
Randolph Engineering put out a revised version of an old model, an acetate model: the P-51. Heavy aviation influence and even has a sunclip.. the brands showcased here are, of course, excellent as well.
I recently got the HKxJF02 and they're so nice with the sun clip!
That is such an incredible frame!
What a great video. Was this my idea?? I think I suggested the topic…
Yes it was!
Just bought a pair of J.F. Rey jf3024 with clip😊
Hey! I love your videos, just a suggestion, It would be super nice to have the name and brand of each pair of glasses on the videos description.
I love your reviews, I really learn a lot ❤
Matsuda frames are also a great option (some come with clip ons). I got the JF reys and love them as well.
Ahlem look very impressive, and so do j f rey. Thank you. Great selection, well done..
Thanks for this video
You're welcome
Love all but the Ahlem were just wonderful...👓🕶️😍🥰👌👍
I agree!
How do you fit the lens (if you have a higher prescription) inside the JF Rey when they have those acetate rings?
I think I need some American Optical frames myself 🥰
We'd love to make them for you!
the JF rey is extremely cool with the clip! most presented glasses look much cooler with the clip though
💯
I'm waiting for the next generation of Transitions which should adapt twice as quickly as Gen 8.
Gen S will be released in the US on April 9. I'm looking forward to the ruby.
@@akahina A couple more months before they come to the UK, unfortunately. I am struggling to find good data for Photofusion X performance, or even where I can buy it, so I'll probably just get the Transitions Gen S instead.
@samuelburnett6811 It's a sad state of affairs the optical industry puts consumers in. It's virtually impossible to get Zeiss in the US. And although Essilor makes "style mirrors," none of the shops in my metro area offer them. Likely because they don't have to buy sample sets if they don't sell them. Honestly, even though Gen S will be introduced in a week, I don't expect most shops to offer them for about a year, based on historical experience. I expect old stock Gen 8 (likely discounted at wholsale levels) to be sold at the old premium prices to consumers.
Hi, I have a question concerning the duravision flash coating, can you associate it with the duravision platinum ?
What are your thoughts on photochromic lenses ?
This video reminds me I purchased a budget glow in the dark frames with sunglasses clip-on & 3D clip-on.😂 Time to try them! I have them with Trivex progressive lenses.
3D clip on? As in - 3D glasses? Cool! Never heard of that
@thespectaclefactory I purchased online from ZENNI. I haven't tried the 3D clip-on as there hasn't been anything worth seeing at the cinema. The glow in the dark didn't work so far. The daylight in the winter wasn't bright enough to activate them. I didn't want to shine an LED flashlight at the frames to make it work.. Hopefully, it works better in the spring, summer, & autumn months.
I have custom made prescription clip in readers ❤😊
Does Anglo American make the sunclip for 426 47mm ?
What do you think of vintage david yurman frames
Snob Milano is also interesting
Agreed. I almost talked about them here. But honestly, the quality is similar to Eco for double the price
do you know of a clip on for Oliver People Kisho frame?
Wow! I spent several hours today debating between buying a beautiful blue pair of LA Eyeworks or a crystal acetate (Eco or Anglo American) with a sun clip. Before I knew it, had gone down a rabbit hole of possibilities, imagining myself quickly building an eyewear wardrobe through multiple clips. Is it feasible to build a wardrobe around a pair through using multiple clips? I’m considering a clear frame with photochromic lenses (for when I don’t feel like wearing a clip) and then having sweet violet or blue lenses installed in the sun-clip... but that really only works for me if it is less expensive.
Yes, that's definitely possible. I have clients with several clips for one frame
What about the Lemtosh with the Fliptosh?
I think it's a shame Ahlem isn't doing clip ons for their acetate frames... the Rue Bosquet with a clip on would be quite stunning (see the Talla Buccia for comparison).
For me I'm now thinking between the Ahlem Rue Bosquet, Masunaga Tango or Taylor with Respect Relief, but those don't have a clip on, or the Anglo American Optical 406/426, Barton Perreira Norton or Masunaga GSM-07. Shouldn't the Barton Perreira and Masunaga be of similar quality? BP is slightly more affordable it seems and easier to get.
Choices over choices, and the main issue is my nose is a bit narrow where the pads would sit.
Is it better or worse than Photochromic lenses?
As long as the sun clip is a fraction of the price, yes absolutely! If not, I'm probably not the target demographic.
No LINDBERG clip on review?
With the Ahlem, you mentioned keeping the sunclip in your car. That has been my fear because car interiors get very hot with outside temperatures of 100° f in the summer, and I understood high heat would be bad for plastic lenses, making them craze, or god forbid, warp. Is this correct? And if so, are the clip lenses glass? As an old guy, I used to keep glass sunglasses in my glove box. I would like to do that with a clip. I wear photochromic lenses which, as you know, don't stay dark behind a windshield.
(Side question: What's your opinion on Blake Kuwahara frames?)
Good point. Here in the UK, that isn't a big concern, but in warmer climates you are right.
Is there any sun-clip uses coated lenses? Sun-clip with plastic lenses and without any anti-reflective coating wiill cause ghosting when facing the sun in certain angle. The reflection between the clip-on lenses and prescription lenses is just annoying.😢
I wish you would wear the glasses you’re talking about a bit more, I really wanted to see how the Masunaga with sun clip looked on the face. Great video though, thank you!
At about 9.15, you can see them on his face
Not with the clip - reading is optional I guess
You are best in the world
🙏 thank you
excellent glass with eco frame
Agreed
Hey Robert! What's the glasses you're wearing?
0:47 check the beginning of the video. Robert has been really good lately about adding that info on the screen if he doesn’t refer to them by name.
I’m wondering if you can put the tension spring bridge style on a pair of rimless glasses

@@thespectaclefactory wow! Those were some neat specs!
Out of curiosity this might be a silly question can you drive with sunclips like the ECO ones?
Yes! Being polarised, they are great for driving
The JF Rey ❤
💯
@@thespectaclefactory more cost effective than buying a regular pair of glasses and then a second pair of prescription glasses 🤷♂️
Are theses glasses available in Florida or the USA? You said that they are made in England
We ship to the US every day! Drop us an email on hello@thespectaclefactory.com and I'd love to help

Would you be able to recommend an optician in London? Many thanks!
Sorry, I can't, but we have clients travelling from London almost every day. It's really not far to come for something so important as your eyes
Agreed. I travelled several hours and it is well worth the trip.
After ordering from Robert virtually, I travelled over 4,000 miles from Canada this past weekend for an in-person consultation. You owe it to yourself to make the journey from London; there really is no better place for eyecare and the BEST frame & lens selection and expert advice.
But why are they so expensive in my country?
We ship all over the world, so why not get in touch? You can email us via hello@thespectaclefactory.com
Please do chrome heart!!! 😢
