I cannot thank you enough for this video! Solved by problem. I thought that I had a bigger problem with my Silvia. I couldn't get to talk to Auber or SCG help center but these videos did the job. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!

Definitely unplug, not just switch off. There is mains voltage exposed under that cover. Don't die for you're coffee fix! Thanks for the video, it literally took me 3:38 to fix the problem.
It was the switch! I have some Citric Acid so I cleaned it as well for good measure (once per month or when it occurs to me). Back to tasty coffee! Still don't always get the best creama.
Thanks, guys. I was distraught when I cleaned my machine and it crapped out. Also, two days without lattes was not good. However, after watching your video, in three minutes my Rancilio Silvia is back up and running. Much appreciated.
My machine was throwing the switch. I have replaced the element in my Rancilio Siliva and all seems to be working properly except when I now put to steam the steam light is staying on for longer than it use to. I am afraid that I will blow something up. It is getting to a high steam but light is staying on so I manual turn off the steam. Any thoughts??
HI Guys Mine was bought new in montreal in 2007. It is the previous generation .I have replace a few parts myself such the pump; the milk frother assembly, etc.. Today after and hour left turn on with the steam delivery switch to "on" the Silvia "shut-off" no lights "ON". After and hour we tried to turn the Main Power ON without success. What are the step to follow to try to find the problem ?
My Rancilio Silva takes a very long time to heat up and also a very long time between cycles to brew another shot but it does eventually get hot. Should i still try this?
I couldn't move the red cap in either direction. I didn't want to use too much force. However one of the connectors to the main switch appeared somewhat burned.
From the day I bought it, years ago, it will sputter when making the shots, like there’s air in the line, I keep the water tank full but it keeps happening… help!
I had the same problem then I replaced my pump and it is working again. Bought it from Amazon Brand: ULKA 4.6 out of 5 stars 42 Reviews Ulka Pump Model EA Type EAX5 - 120V, 60Hz, 52W, NSF, brass output (D110). There’s also a video on TH-cam showing how to replace the pump and it was fairly easy to do

Thanks for this video! I was having a bit of a coffee crisis this morning. I will check the switch later today. I am sure that is the issue.

my Rancilio v6 won’t switch on. No power whatsoever. I’ve changed the fuse in the plug and used different plug sockets. Any ideas please

Thanks for the video, worked for me.

No. If it's tripped, no heat.

You guys rock. thanks!
The red button is not out, but there is no heat. Does the thermostat need replacing?
Good tip, thanks dudes!
+ckgdrums Cheers!
Don't forget to unplug it before trying this out!
+ascosta Yes! Safety first!
What if resetting the Red Button does not restore normal heating? Thats my case.
Me too, brand new machine.
My wife doesn't get any water coming at all, the pump doesn't seem to be working. No water is being drawn through the hose
Did you ever figure out the issue? I'm having that issue now
