Dude I just wanna thank you for your videos, they've been a huge influence to me. I've been watching them for the past year while hoping to upgrade to a CB650R, after a long wait I've finally got it and it's an absolute dream for someone coming from a Ninja 250. The sound of the exhaust while going through the penchala tunnel is surreal in real life. Hope to see you sometime around!
Hey man congrats! haha glad you enjoy the videos. I know right the sound doesn't get old every chance I get I will rip through a tunnel. And the fun thing about a 650 is that it's not too powerful that you can full throttle without scaring yourself too much. Are you based in KL? if so I'll probably see you around!

I wish you did a flyby shot in the video. I know what the exhaust sounds like when I'm on the bike - what I really want to hear is what it sounds like to bystanders as I go by lol
That’s a good idea. I need a friend who’s willing to record that for me to do that. I’m sure it sounds awesome with the Doppler effect.

I bought my cbr650r in september 2022 and even I planned for 10k km for exhaust upgrade. its was June 2023 and I clocked 9k km lol...... so could not resist and updated as the price was rising.
Anyway congratulations. I tried removing the baffle suppressor but I installed it back. its too loud and embarrassing. now its soothing.

Same reason as why I needed to buy mine as seeing the price increased and stock becoming unavailable quickly. Exactly right on the baffles on I enjoy it better now it’s perfect this way IMO.

Thanks!! No I didn’t remap. The bike adapts to the new exhaust after the first run. But it’s always better with a remap.

I ordered mine from US 6 months ago and didn't get it tell now lol .. btw i notice your side bag.. its nice and almost hidden and don't ruin the bike looks.. can you share the details of that bag? thanlks
Wow that’s a really long time I hope you get it soon. The side bag is just a normal saddle for cruisers but I only installed it on one side as an experiment which turned out okay I guess as a place to store rain gear.
But take note that you will limit your right foot movement and there’s no space for passenger footpegs.

Haha it has the baffles on now don’t worry it’s not too loud anymore.
We have the same exhaust, but i installed it on my bike when it only has 300km odo 😁, the only problem that i had was when i start it on early sunday mornings when we have a ride as the idle on cold start ups tends to be noisy and a sure wakeups for the neighbors 😅
Awesome!! Did you get the db killer back on the bike? I have the same concern as you not being neighbourly especially in enclosed areas haha. I have a part 2 review check it out.
@@RUBBERNMETAL nope, luckily when i talked to my neighbors they said that it was ok because i only ride the bike every sunday morning and it didn't bothered them at all as opposed to when it would be at work days.
Ohhh, bro, after you change the handle bar side mirror, did the vibration increase or no change?
Hey bro I just changed the mirrors the mounting is the same I’m happy with the mounting. Vibration is the same it’s bearable.
But lately I’ve customised some bar insert weights as well so that has definitely improved vibration/buzzyness.

I think that’s the one with the carbon tip right? Should be compatible. As long as it’s for the CB650 model.
you will need a custom map for that to work well, otherwise you still have flat spot on the map and likely less power down low
Yes that’s right I’ve been trying my best to keep the bike in stock setup in terms of mapping but it is tempting to unleash the mid range that I’m missing out on. 🤔
Is it a must to tune or you can just run the bike without tuning with the new exhaust installed ?
In the next 3 months I'm getting a cb650r and I'm already searching for a Exhaust, the akra is soooo expensive, 1600$ in Costa Rica so no thanks, i will probably end up going with a CS racing exhaust, looks good and it assures hp gain with a tune, 700$ the exhaust an I think with 900$ I can tune it and some other things
Hey buddy that is too expensive you’re right. Is there any way you can figure out how to import it yourself without end up being too expensive?
It took me 2 years to consider what exhaust to get but as seeing the prices climb higher and orders taking longer every year I just spent some money on it. But then again there are others I know who customised their exhaust to save cost and so far they’re still okay.

Hello. No need ecu remap for akra the engine will adapt to the changes but tuning can be done for best effects

Been considering getting some riding gear from Thunder Garage, but not too sure on their authenticity since they're pretty new. So far how's your experience dealing with them?
So far my akra is as original as the one at big wing. Confirmed by the mechanics there as I got it fitted at big wing.
Did you change exhaust only? What about tune? Is it require or not?
Yea I changed the exhaust only, after market air filter I feel is not needed. A tune is not compulsory with the akra but it’s better in general if you tune it properly.
What did you use to record the sound, the levels are perfect to ascertain the exhaust sound

Akra tak perlu. Tapi for best results Boleh je tuning.

The SC Project is bloody expensive! It’s selling at RM8.2k and it has ready stock, that’s almost a quarter of the bike price 🤣😂. Nice bike sound anyways! I’m using Austin Racing and it’s noisy as hell too.
Yea man you’re right the price is around there I checked. Austin racing doesn’t come with headers right? It’s really loud I heard. I’ve reinserted the db killer and it’s much nicer now hehe

With DB killer, will still get saman?
By right it’s not legal but it’s not noticeable in a roadblock unless you rev it up purposely.

It's about 1100-1300 euros, installation can be different from workshop to workshop

That’s around how much it costs here too. Installation is cheap I only paid equivalent of €25.

Is this exhaust needed remap?
It’s recommended a remap but not necessary. The bike will adjust to the change in exhaust.
I took the DB killer out I love it. It doesn't annoy the neighbors because I ride slowly through side streets and under 3k rpms It's not too much louder, just more bassy.
however once I hit the main roads,REEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I agree there are some parts of the ride that it’s enjoyable to make it scream but on most case I have to avoid revving it too much haha. I just installed the db killer and I think it suits me better as I tend to short shift if it gets too loud.
Its an inline 4, you just had to have an exhaust on it. Its almost a sin not to.

Leave the DB killer out, you will get used to the loud noise and it will sound to quiet with DB in...let the girls here you coming from a mile away!!
In reality mostly guys will find the pleasure in the noise 😆 I’ve just installed the db killer it’s quite nice but maybe I’ll take it out again soon.
"getting used to" the noise is your ears suffering permanent damage. Wear earplugs, people!

I think it does if you’re referring to a cb650r cos if I’m not mistaken mines a 2020 which is exactly the same as a 2019.
