My 10 year old (5th grade) just got the role of Pugsley at his theater company. A company of age ranges of 7 - 18. I'm so excited to see him sing this!
i just got the role of pugsley, i’m happy but also overwhelmed because it’s a high school musical and i’m only a 6’th grader; surrounded by 10’th-12’th graders. We also have to film it in a bit so it’s a bit lot.
I was the same. I was in 8th grade surrounded by seniors. One senior embraced me and showed me the ropes and the show was a huge local hit here in Los Angeles.
We're doing Addams Family at my high school this year and I want to audition for Pugsley but the only thing is I'm a girl. I can sing the part fine though and I'm definitely heavier built and because I have a low alto voice and my body type there really just isn't a good part for me in the show and it's my senior year so this is my last chance which is upsetting because if I get in I'll probably just be ensemble
KimStar204 im a skinny small girl, thats hispanic so dont even worry about your looks. If anything the paper actually suggests to cast a girl the the actual notes are super high and a lot of guys cant sing them
I you working with a vocal teacher? If not, you should. It would be your best chance as they will show you how to maximize your voice....my advice. try to relax. do your best.
my drama club is supposed to play this show on may but what can we say, eh? 2020 held many unexpected turn outs anyway my friend plays pugsley and she is incredibly talented singer
I am really sorry to hear this but, I am sure there will be another time for you just, maybe, in a different part, right? I miss out on everything I am doing this Spring too.
I tried to mix my personality with Pugsley without leaving Pugsley's base character. I also made sure i was "on" my vocals. lots of practice before auditioning Good luck to you!!!! Let me know how you do.
Never be afraid to audition. What's the worse they say? No? At least you tried. Remember, auditioning is everything. You must practice and get good at it. You will fail 99% of the time. Get used to it. It's that 1% you are most interested in.
On the last note of the song, when Pugsley says “kid”, did you do an octave jump back into the original octave? I’m asking because it’s sounds really cool there in your falsetto and I was thinking about bringing that option up to my director as I am in the Addams family right now. This is really good!
The person who played Grandma with me was great! She was 5 years older than me, and as I was in middle school for this high school production, she took time to show me the ropes. I will always remember her for helping me.
yeah I’m playing her rn- i think it’s the voice, the more exaggerated the voice and the space in between the beats are the better the interpretation will end up being

How the hell am i supposed to do that 😭
Just practice, my friend. You can do it!
I think it’s because they’re a little too deep his voice
His voice is a little too high but he still did a good job pugsley!😊😊😊🙂
But, he be singing the song an octave down though.
