When feeding him treats to train him give him natural things because regular treats can upset his stomach. So for example give him pieces of ham or carrots. ❤ if he's ever having belly aches , some canned pumpkin helps regulate their stomach.
I seriously can’t recommend crate training enough. We did it with my two dogs, who are of similar breed, and it worked so well. They haven’t had accidents in the house since. They’ve learned how to tell us they need to go outside. And they’re such well behaved! I think it really teaches them to become disciplined and respectful towards their Alphas. Also be careful taking him outside and around people and other dogs without his vaccines. I know that’s something, we waited to take our dogs out until they got their vaccines because they’re like babies and have week immune systems at that age. Congrats- having a dog is literally the best and they bring so much love and joy into lives. ❤️ Hes very cute. 🥰
I have a morkie too!!! They're super affectionate and usually love to snuggle! They also aren't too hard to train, I trained my morkie all the basic tricks by just watching youtube videos. I would say that my biggest trick is to start them off young and before they turn 1 whether its swimming, training, going for walks, or being in the car. My morkie is trained to go potty on wee wee pads. They're super easy and my morkie literally learned to go potty on them within 2 days. Wee wee pads are super useful especially if you live in an apartment or can't go out for walks often. That's the majority of the tips I have but if you have any other questions i'd love to answer them!!
My husband & I got a new puppy last week & I keep reminding myself she’s only 8 weeks, & she just got taken away from her fam, put in our car, & driven 7 hours to our place, she’s allowed a little grace 😂 she is OBSESSED w me which is so nice until she needs to be left home alone & she just cries in her crate 🥺
a tip for potty training that has worked so well for me is getting the dog to ring a bell when they have to go out! basically you just get a dog friendly bell that hangs on your doorknob and take the dog outside every hour or when you think it needs to go, and shake the bell everytime. eventually the dog will associate the bell with going outside and nudge it when it has to go. it has worked for my dog for years now and it only took a few days for my dog to begin ringing it!

since he’s so small, take him out every 30 minutes. after play time, napping, and 30 min after he drinks & eats. every time he goes outside and potties, give him a treat and praise him!! if he makes an accident (which happens of course!) then just take him right outside and tell him that is where he goes potty. he is SO CUTE! i have 2 dogs in an apartment and it isn’t easy to train the small puppies to go outside but it’s doable! also, my small dog goes on potty pads inside, super easy to train them to go on a potty pad, if outside doesn’t work.

Even if they don’t go it’s still better than a potty accident in the house. Also, giving a little training treat or reward when they go outside is a thought. I never did that, but rewarding good behavior is always an option.

Then as she got older, we trained her to go outside (which btw, they are such a smart breed). And for crate training, what if you keep his crate in your room, or right outside of it, and then put a towel or a blanket over the crate. We learned that from our trainer! We also keep a toy in the crate for her, and now she’s super good with going in there at night! Good luck :)
Please make sure he has all his vaccines before you take him out on walks/parks! It can be very dangerous for him and easy to get something from outside.
I have a Morkie and she's only two, you want to make sure you take care of his teeth. Even just giving him small dental bones is a help. Morkies and smaller dogs are way more prone to having teeth problems earlier in their lives.
Both dogs are adorable. people are trying to help though, both dogs are not old enough to have all the shots needed to protect them yet. Vet bills get very expensive quickly believe me. My Maltese died at 3 years old from a genetic brain disorder and I spent over 10 thousand dollars trying to save him. I now have a shorky and I adopted a chihuahua. Pets are a wonderful addition. only give him COOKED carrots... raw carrots are bad for dogs
