The big difference between the old KX100 (Bore 52.5mm x Stroke 45.8mm) and the KX112 (Bore 52.5mm x Stroke 51.6mm) is that they have lengthened the stroke on the KX112. That gives the KX112 a little more grunt down low in the rpm range. You can probably hear the deeper sound comparing the RM85 with the KX112. I can hear the deeper sound anyway. I am guessing that Kawasaki did what they did to make the KX100 (now KX112) a true supermini at the maximum of the displacement limit for the supermini class...ready made stock. The Yamaha YZ85, KTM 85SX, Gas Gas MC85, Hus TC85 all now make minis with the same wheel size as the KX112, but to get them competitive in the supermini class you have to get a bore and stroke kit to bring them up to a 112cc displacement (Kind of $$$). I suspect that for 2023 the rest of the bike brands will probably bore and stroke their "big wheel" bikes (19' front and 16' rear) to 112s. All the 85s run bore and strokes of around 48.0mm X 46.8mm respectively and as your RM85 has 17' front and 14' rear wheels. The KX112 will not only be a great bike for the supermini motocross class, but also for the off-road supermini classes with the extra low end grunt.

Kx 112 the difrence is cc its 12 mor than the 100 has liquid coold compressed mkter for more power mor pop and stabilized suspension with the new power chips and it 12 cc mor than 100 and 22 mor than 85
