I really hope that Ian and Anthony bring more of the Smosh family into their sketches and writing sessions over the next six months.
I know we see things on a delay from development, so Anthony is still just getting to know the rest of the cast and wants to focus on himself and Ian, but the rest of the cast is so hilarious, talented, and unique that there really is a place of Smosh to not just be “classic smosh” but to be even better because of the sun of all of its parts. Like, the LaMace family, the Damien and Ian Therapy video, Wish a Dream, and Girls are Gross are all things that I could see fitting into the new mentality, even before we talk about the sketches from this podcast!
@@cristianm4208 Ian and Anothiny can have the smosh channel for all those ppl wanting the new ppl to be fired. I want all the smosh pit and smosh games to focus on getting more shows with new cast for those of us who also started getting attached to new cast Triple A&C and Jackie plus new old cast. lol hope that lingo made sense as to what i mean.
update i didnt mean to make that rhyme and now I'm laughing at myself[It was just the shortest way I could express everyone I would love on these Pit channel more is TripleACandJackie which I'm starting to like the sound of]. I think all three channels in this are whee we can try and have a better community experiences with the returners though that might help.
*Smosh*: Primarily Ian and Anthony with guest by new old cast (so the rude returners wont feel slighted)
*Smosh Pit*: sketches and college game and just what Pit was before with Triple A & C (CHanse) and Jackie are featured more heavily on there with appearances by Ian and Anthony cause us "stayers" as I just coined now lol can still enjoy the content before the return and
*Smosh Cast*:() can stay the way it is atm, and what ever I&A are doing this Wednesday can be there pod . Overlap is fine by me. But the returners still need to get the value they missed when they left with Anthony, alright done
This reminds me of the Hot Dog sketch thing people were demanding at some point. I can’t remember what it was only that it was related to Shayne and hot dogs. Someone help what was it called I could just look it up but that’s not as fun

@@kaitlynmorgan4613 I got what you mean! but it wouldn’t be the first time they stole content from TH-camrs! Look up Joel Harver’s Charmin Bears sketch. Joel summed it up as “parallel thinking” but imo there’s too much that’s spot on to not at least draw inspiration.

The Ham Cake sketch was actually genius. Just the levels of insanity between “wait what about the TV show” and the ham based schizophrenia that actually works sometimes bc she actually called someone with the ham.

Same for the most part, I'm also not finding too many tv shows or movies released post covid I like anymore, either they start out good then get ruined or don't like them to start with. The one that I have really liked as of recently off the top of my head is Vox Machina or crime shows.
Same, for the most part TH-cam is my main source of entertainment and all the Smosh channels are my go to's

The joke within a joke: the ham being crazy but mom#1 only caring about the Yellowstone comment is actually genius.
The way this video made me realize how much your abilities and stenghts have an effect on the way you write is mind blowing. The way Shayne writes is more oriented towards scenes and plots, whereas Angela's style was finding the balance where her inherent chaotic humor and embracing her own unhinged weirdness, and Amanda is more focused on creating and building characters and letting them lead the entire scene. It just makes complete sense.
didn't think of this but such a good point. amanda is a character actor, shayne is super physical in his acting and angela is chaos embodied 😂
Angela's sketch feels like it fits into the same universe as the Ian and Anthony sketches.
Yeah, right?! It’s like in the same frequency. Now it makes more sense when the cast says Angela has young/old Ian fused with Anthony type of energy.

Angela's sketch feels like a classic smosh sketch. Like I can picture Ian and Anthony playing the moms. That being said, this has to be the cast for it. All the sketches here are amazing please produce them all! 😂

OMG The Escape Room sketch needs to happen and it can be an ongoing bit/sketch with different rooms! In RL my friend and I have literally gone to escape rooms and did exactly what Amanda's and Angela's characters did (getting into character, etc to fit the room) and it was a blast! Variation idea for the Escape Room sketch: Put the Jay & Silent Bob stoner characters from TNTL (I believe Mac Does It was the guest on the show and it was Angela and Jackie's characters who were the Jay/Silent Bob stoners and they were dressed in Footlocker uniforms reffing a football game) in an escape room scenario. Also Valet Guy needs to be a RL reoccurring character/sketch too!

But also SmoshScripts would be an instant banger of a series. Table reads, full on sketches, guest stars!!

The whole sketch was amazing but the Yellowstone joke in particular made me laugh so hard.
I absolutely loved all of these “dogshit” sketches and how they were all different levels of funny. Shayne’s simple mime family to Angela’s rollercoaster of ham cake, mixed with Amanda’s aggressive valet guy and Shayne’s out of nowhere escape room, every one of them was amazing. We definitely need a part 2, and more!!

Absolutely! I could watch those performances all day. And it's Shane's genius writing the sketch knowing it will be them performing it. I loved the energy all three of them brought to this exercise and hope they do it again!!
Angela's sketch is actually soooo smosh-coded. But what if the end is just Amanda's character turns into ham, then Angela's character turns into a Yellowstone DVD, that way it makes Shayne's character the actual crazy one instead? That is legit how smosh sketch goes.

That's what I said !!! I could see Bill Hader the whole time 😂 edit to say I thought Amanda's was hilarious and Bill Hader makes me laugh. That style of the sketch she wrote forever ago was very SNL, which doesn't surprise me.
That's the same as saying it isn't funny, which I'd disagree with.

i love this concept so much!! the college humor podcast from a few years ago had a similar segment called “rejected sketch theater” and it always had me dying laughing, there’s something so fun about getting a glimpse into what people find funny without any edits or limitations. the absolute best absurdist comedy

i think telling yourselves to write a bad sketch helps to put the pressure off writing a 'perfect' sketch and def lets your creativity flow. It'll be fun to explore!

The yellowstone bit was what made that sketch for me. It's so weird and crazy, and yet mom #1 is so focused on this one line that was weird when it was first said, but then just got drowned out by the chaos that followed, so for that to be the closing line is hilarious 😂

After the intro discussion, I was struggling to think of how I could give advice to Angela to break her writer's block, and I thought "oh wait, clearly Angela should write something bustling, chaotic, and impossibly absurd," and then during her sketch I admitted to myself that that wasn't advice, that was just being a fan. 😭

Amanda's and Shayne's could have been Key&Peele sketches, Angela's was easily Monty Python influenced. Very funny stuff.

All 3 sketches made me cry from laughter! I actually love how that you guys were able to accidentally write great pieces by not taking yourself seriously and just having fun. As someone who is on an extended years long writer's block it definitely felt comforting to hear that the creatives that I admire who have created such amazing things, experience creative block too but still are able to create and thrive. I don't write comedy, quite frankly I just don't have the knack for it, but I think I'll try writing something dumb and fun just so I can find the joy in writing without burdens or the pressure to be perfect.
ham cake is really working in so many ways. cecily is introduced as “the crazy one” and then there’s the reveal that Mom 2 is actually completely bought into the “craziness” and then the final twist that Maeve is operating on a similar level of “crazy” by questioning none of the ham business and going back to Yellowstone. this is iconic
ANGELA NEEDS TO START WRITING AGAIN THAT WAS FUCKING HILARIOUS
Also hearing Angela talking about "the game" concept of sketch comedy from UCB explains so many of the writing styles of the comedians who have come from there.
If Shayne really wanted to publish a book, I bet he could do it, I'd read it!
The existing fan base alone would be enough for it to be successful if it was any good! I find myself agreeing with shayne so much, I’ve paused Reddit vids and explained what I feel about the story with my gf, only for shayne to phrase it a little more coherently. 100% I would buy his book even to just support him

As a musician, i can relate waaaay too much to the convo y'all had at the beginning. Music is one of my favorite things to do. It's also been several years since I touched my instrument. I got burned out from trying to make it a career and I still haven't recovered. Hopefully one day I can get past the mental block
I lost music when my older brother died. The only reason i learned to play anything was to be better than him. And it just... blew away like smoke when he was gone.

Angela says this is the worst thing she’s ever written because it doesn’t make any sense, that’s exactly why it’s hilarious. It sounds like an snl skit, everyone in it is breaking character and loving the moment they’re in. Her sketch needs to be done at smosh for sure ❤

No shade to the rest of the cast of smosh, but these three right here are unequivocally the best and most talented absolute professional actors. Their ability to delve into the writing process, their introspection, I just absolutely love seeing them and their work.
Also, the color coordination in their outfits is just *chefs kiss*
They commit HARD on the characters they play, it's so impressive
I mean I can’t really argue with that- Since I’ve honestly never seen the others talk about it to this capacity, so it’d be really cool to give the others a spotlight to show what they bring to the table- i think it could be amazing.
It’d be so interesting to see what Ian or Anthony come up with for this kinda thing. Also Noah, Tommy & Chanse would be awesome on this

This episode is very reassuring. All of these skits absolutely killed me, but Angela, Shayne, and Amanda still felt insecure about them. Gives me hope as an aspiring writer!

I NEED Ham Cake to be fully produced as a sketch! I literally laughed out loud so hard while listening! Its also giving horror vibes to me, like it could be a very creepy short film or something like that. Either way, I’d watch it several times a week.
Valet Guy, Mime Family, and Escape Room also need to be fully produced and/or brought on TNTL. Please make these happen!!!!
