I found him through the use of "Master & a Hound" in the final ep. of 'Heels'. Couldn't find the song listed in the credits, but picked out some lyrics and did a google search, and found him on YT. Happy day. What an amazing talent.
hang in there, if it's external suffering then just know seasons change, spring will come. if it's internal suffering, it's tougher because time will not help, you need to help yourself, change your perspective, understand yourself, seek healing and you will be healed.
god aint coming back though eh? but random pixel people on the internet feel like you. so you are not alone. just do it like oscar wilde: if your heart must break, it will break in music, i know, poets hearts break so.
His songs reminds me of the autum breeze i felt as a child which has been my best memory. And this can’t be reminded by any other song of these days. His songs got some huge emotion inside. Thanks for your music Gregory. 🙏🏽
Gregory Alan Isakov is the reason they call musicians artists. Each one of his songs is like a finely crafted piece of art. Caves reminds you of Liars because of the building. The passion. It’s like an orgasm. At the end you don’t know if you achieved it or not or if you’ll ever achieve it again. It just keeps building and building and you don’t know if you’ll ever reach what you’re grasping for. All that “overproduced”, “new colored” “clutter” has to be there. This song is like falling in love. You know what it means the first time you hear it. That’s why he keeps saying, “Let’s put these words away”. He doesn’t need to say it because when you fall in love there are no words to describe it. But this song comes pretty damn close. The music, the lyrics, his voice. It’s beautiful. A masterpiece. This guy is a genius. He’s brilliant. He takes you places you may never get to go. I needed this song. Thank you, Gregory.
I partially disagree...yeah he loves her but the line before "Put out the smoke in your mind" makes me think it's an argument he doesn't want to have. Putting all the words away is like calling a time out its something in hindsight we all wish we could do in the heat of an argument and still love a person. In the heat of argument he wants to put away the discussion and just forget about it because it's trivial and not important in the larger scale. Immediately following he contemplates "flying away" like a bird but her voice keeps him ther. Again i see this in a line later..."Did I hear something break Was that your heart or my heart. Like when the Earth shakes Then the silence that follow." Broken hearts don't happen in the beginning. Also the line "Showed our insides on our outsides" also makes me think he is talking about things you don't like to show, the ugly side of you. Definitely my favorite from this new album and have already shared it and my interpretation with my wife. Hopefully i can remember to put all those words away when we get heated.
@@terrytibbs5678 This is the first time I’ve ever listen to this artist and I was just reading these wonderful intense descriptive analysis of this song and then I come to this last comment and you made me crack up out loud… So profound! 😂
If you’re reading this it’s not too late. Not too late to eat better. Not too late to go for a walk. Not too late to quit ...quit whatever it is holding you back..and it’s definitely not too late to love.Love yourself.Love unconditionally.Love everything and everyone.Love so much you don’t know anything else. You could die today. You could die tomorrow. You could die decades from now.But your energy lives. It lives now.And it lives for forever to come.Make it positive.Make it flow.Make it travel through the unknown.Lead by example.Follow beautiful souls. And never forget their are people out their who care.Care for you.Care for your mom.Care for your dad and everyone in between.I care.I assure you.We can make the most of our lives and be happy.Together with everyone in it, and everyone it may cross.Whether it’s for a minute or a lifetime.Cherish and adore your surroundings, and they will illuminate brightly.Every thing you’re eyes see is a canvass, be Picasso .Be great.I love you , you living legend :)
You go ahead There's something I forgot Walk slow and I'll catch up Let's hear the stars do their talking I used to love Caves Stumble out into that big sky Remember that bright hollow moon Showed our insides on our outsides This town closes down same time everyday Put out the smoke in your mind Let's put all these words away Lets put all these words away Now think alike birds See 'em fly from St. Paul And I go running when the night aches Hear her every time she calls Did I hear something break Was that your heart or my heart Like when the Earth shakes Then the silence that follows Chorus
i found gregory in 2018 randomly.. and not a single day passed by since i listened to his msuic.. he is the best in the world for me.. i listened to many 80s and 90s but this guy.. he is different.. every song he wrote is like something becautifull which i found out of nowhwhere. one day i will see his live in front of him and hug him and thank him for creating such a beautifull music
This song takes me to a far away city down south. Somewhere across oceans, a town where peace reigns with every bell chime of its St. Paul cathedral. Snow falls slowly everyday as the city’s citizens buzz about in its streetlights streets, conscious of the peace and each holding that peace as their own personal purpose. The kids dream of it and the old take it to their grave as the sun sets past the tower of St. Paul on the snowy hills
I have been sitting here for 10 mins straight but I still have no words to describe the uniqueness of this song. It's so different, so calming, strengthening, saddening and breaking all at the same time. So satisfying and fulfilling.
All of these overproduced comments?? He's trying a new sound, like all passionate music makers do. They're always changing/inspired by new sounds themselves. You have albums of straight up guitar and vocals to listen to, go listen to them. This shits gorgeous, as always. Gregory alan Kalashnikov💪💪
Decided for long time Gregory is my top favorite musician. but only now have the urge to express it when I discovered this song. he keep surprises me with his music consistency. because some musician changes over time and so is their music, and some people like me can't keep up. but greg i hope I will keep loving you for internity. why am i so emotional.
I'm digging the style of this song, can't wait for October 5th, Preordered the Exclusive Evening Machines Pack, then I'll see ya in Austin on the 18 for the show of a lifetime!
I'm 61,thank God for artists like GAI,I feel reborn...

Age has nothing to do with music. Why do people always need to point it out ?
Let's put all these words away
I’m so broken I don’t know what to do, I put in head phones and this is my jam on those broken nights. This is my therapy god help me

You go ahead
There's something I forgot
Walk slow and I'll catch up
Let's hear the stars
do their talking
I used to love Caves
Stumble out into that big sky
Remember that bright hollow moon
Showed our insides
on our outsides
This town closes down
same time everyday
Put out the smoke
in your mind
Let's put all these words away
Lets put all these words away
Now think alike birds
See 'em fly from St. Paul
And I go running when the night aches
Hear her every time she calls
Did I hear something break
Was that your heart or my heart
Like when the Earth shakes
Then the silence that follows
Chorus
'Stumble out into that PINK sky"
"Now I think I like birds" ;)
Thanksss
Such a strong sing during this pandemic crisis

The lyrics in the first verse kinda remind me of how "liars" starts out
I think the music is quite similar too.
