I can't beleive he's finally getting some of the recognition he deserves, he's one of those artiusts who's work can legitimately change your life
Why can't you believe it?
It's been like a decade of the simps and mainstream not knowing , I don't know if that's for the better or not.
@@spacesmuggling Been listening since Stable Song, probably like 15 years ago or so.
So frustrated when people tell me there's no good music anymore and I show them artists like Gregory Alan Isakov and they say "yeah, but he's not mainstream".
Who gives a crap, he's great....so is Iron and Wine, Jason Isbell, Josh Ritter, Andrew Bird, Colin Meloy, etc.
He needs an episode on Tiny Desk Concert
Yes, I cannot believe he hasn't yet!
Agree but Nothing gets you more new viewers than a live session on KEXP - the most listened to music station website in the USA. He has received 292,000 + views on this performance alone !!
Had the chance to talk to Gregory after he opened for the Lumineers in Paris in early 2022. It couldn't have been a nicer dude. Told him I came just to see him, he was genuinely touched. "We're small potatoes" he said. Glad to see that he's becoming a bigger one. Saw him again when he headlined in Paris a year ago and will see him again in London next week.
If only I had more money in the period I'd do the same... He's one of the few I can listen straight along every songs. A poet, an evocative artist. I can strongly perceive the intentions that vibrates of positivity and life. This last album live must be a love bomb. Maybe next time he'll be coming to Europe (possibly in Italy) ❤
He is the embodiment of fall, winter and reminiscence
Such a special human and musical history
He makes me feel closer to God and I'm not even religious
That's his magic, isn't it?
Gregory's music is a gift... anyone who has seen him live, especially on this current tour can attest. Expert songwriting and raw emotion in every performance. A true gem that transcends genre and soothes the soul! Thanks KEXP for sharing this. Expertly mixed as always.
Seek him live twice. Beautiful experiences.
Saw him live many years ago when he went on tour with Josh Ritter. It was a spiritual experience. We had no idea who he was at the time and you couldn't help love his music
I stumbled across his albums some years back. Went to a live show before the pandemic hit. I've been to many concerts, and have never been so moved by the music. It was beautiful. So much better live than I could have imagined.
saw him live in a small venue in Austin a few years ago. I've honestly never seen a quieter audience. friggin surreal
Was that guy in northern Michigan?circa2010?
This is probably the best band in all of music right now.
this and M83 are the best band in XXI century
Ha ha. Ha…. I can see how u would think that; when you only 12 years old.
Mt. Joy is in the running.
Truth
Long live sad songs about stars.
This guy has been my outlet. I can let my mind roam free. See myself walking barefoot and free in the world around me crumbling. Gardens surrounding. I want to live off all of earths offerings, yet in A world of technology I’m left alone. In the night.. Only music that is understanding💔

Timestamp Guy and Lyrics Guy are the best people on TH-cam.
This one reminds me of how KEXP sound engineers rule. All that nuance coming thru perfectly.
Exactly, this is gregs best recording
This is a beautiful mix , one of my favorite live performances of all time
I actually feel like his voice is a tiny bit too loud, don't kill me 🫂
this is a fantastic recording. Love the comments on this feed, thanks to all of you
Can't believe this is the first time I hear his beautiful voice! What a discovery! I was so 'flabbergasted' I immediately bought two tickets for me and my wife for his upcoming show in Antwerp, Belgium next month! What a great coincidence, talking about 'serendipity'! Thank you, KEXP, for another great discovery concert (for me anyway) and see you soon in Belgium, Gregory!
You will have a fantastic time. My wife and I saw him for the first time in Canada on the current tour, and it was incredible! Enjoy!
I'll be at his concert in Antwerp as well, with my girlfriend! I've been to a live concert of his already, and it's arguably even better than his studio-versions. See you there!
Sounds like my first experience with him 10 years ago. I heard him and immediately bought a ticket to see him a few weeks later. Enjoy!
You are lucky. You’re about to go on an amazing journey of discovery
Best decision you've made in a while ;) He and his band are just amazing live.
Gregory’s music is a breath of fresh air. 10 years ago when I came across his music it’s as if I finally found my vibe. Every single song he’s put on an album is good. Him and his band are true musicians and I’m so thankful for GAI.
totally agree!
Isakov's "The Stable Song" is THE defining song of American culture in our most recent chapter. Every age has its anthems. For the age now turning, The Stable Song was it. I'll never forget it.
Now turning what?
I'd vote for "Mackarena"
@@pileofwit😂
I’ve never heard anything so beautiful. It’s just so incredible. I fall in love with Gregory’s music more and more with every strum, every lyric…and my heart can hardly handle it when I see him and his band perform live. Pure magic. Thank you for sharing this stunning session.
i HAVE SEEN YOU IN SAN LUIS
Bug shout out to Steve Varney on unique backing brilliant!!!!!!

His music has helped me through heartbreak, death, love, was played at my wedding, and hopefully present as my journey grows. I just visited Denver and Boulder for the first time and spent some time in the mountains. Such fitting music for that place.
Everyone in these comments is my peeps! I'm so glad I found GAI and the band and especially this community of music loving souls! ❤
Mannnn, that version of “Miles to Go” was awesome.
I keep replaying it over and over
agree
Good soil, acoustic music, travel, Gregory is living the life
I know this band maybe since 2016 and it's spectacular!! I didn't have the chance to watch them live, despite I asked for a concert in Portugal, my wish hasn't been met! Maybe I need to travel to the US or to the next EU tour to watch this fenomenal band! I find them extraordinary, with a wonderful "humble" genius flickering! This concert in particular on KEXP is a Masterpiece! Thank you so much! You are a great Radio station that I also follow since a while, and I absolutely adore it! Keep going, great as you are!!!🎉❤
Greg’s music is unmatched. Go and see him live in concert, it’s a life changing experience
Can someone give Jeb a hug? The man was emotionally connected to this and made me wanna cry 😢
It made me happy to see it because so much of this music makes me cry. The happy tears, the sad tears, the frustrated tears, the angry tears, the grateful tears, the relieved tears. This music connects me deeply to my inner self and I am so thankful for this band.
Watching as I just bought tickets for his show in Dallas his music has helped me through my toughest times my suicide attempt, depression, and fell through engagement. This man gives me the light through that dark tunnel.
Gregory’s music has brought me through some really tough stuff, and I feel like _he knows it_ What an incredible human ❤
I honestly think this live performance is better than the actual album version of the songs they played.
I will never be able to put into words the love I have for this man !!!
i totally understand that statement!! i am speechless when it comes to his talent music and depth. its all too much. its too beautiful!
...a soul from another world
We see him in concert every year. He is incredible. And when he plays at Red Rock Amphitheatre, it is just a magical experience. Thank you GAI and co. You are all so talented. Thank you for all the beautiful music.
Love love love waking up to this music together with my girlfriend. It's like a warm autumn feeling, regardless of the season
I've watched a lot of performances on TH-cam over the years. This might be the very best I've ever seen.
This is such a beautiful set. We've been home sick this week, and this has been one thing to comfort my one-year-old. He's hurting, but if we put this on, he relaxes and eventually rests. Loved Gregory Alan Isakov's music for many years, and this set is just one more reason.
Saw him in Brisbane on Saturday night. He was incredible, as were the whole band. Such talented musicians.
...still on a high from last week's show at Paradiso, Amsterdam. This man and his friends are bloody incredible.
I liked the big grin on his face when he started the set. You can tell he is doing what he really loves!
His music has a way of healing one’s soul. He helped me continue living, when I was ready to be done. I owe my life to this man and his powerful music.
Saw him & the band along with The Milk Carton Kids in Brooklyn last month, amazing show all around!
MCK were amazing. First opener I've ever seen get a standing ovation
Finally! Been listening to GIA for so long and sharing his music with everyone I know. It’s so beautiful to see him on KEXP ❤
Omg thank you KEXP for having more indie folk on the channel. I like the musical diversity these last few years but goddamn, it was good to see this in my notifications.
Sublime. The Performance. The mix and production quality. The videography. Thank you.
Gregory is food for the soul… He will turn your Monday morning around. What a force.
I recently saw Gregory Alan Isakov live without really expecting anything, knowing only 2-3 of his most popular songs. I was literary blown away; it was just pure music that soothes the soul from the beginning to the end. Thank you Gregory Alan Isakov and KEXP.
Damn, this live rendition has taken this album to a whole different level. Have been dreaming to see him live, especially with the Colorado Symphony.
I have loved listening to Gregory Alan Isakov for over a decade - and still I turn to his music to survive the horrors of where I find myself - it’s perhaps one of the few things allowing me to continue unravelling my own personal life and process trauma and the shattering of the necessary absolutisms which seem to shatter - as they can and do in anyone’s life …. It’s a lifeline from and for the fall into non-being experienced by the aftermath of the devastation of psychiatric coercion and it’s organized criminality and impact on the individual
I can relate
I really cant watch this enough :)
I absolutely cannot either 🫶🏼
Such a beautiful vibe. How well do the different peeps and their instruments blend. Art at its absolute best.
Originally from South Africa - what a career he has made
Love me a real contrabass. So rare! And that‘s Steve on piano? Such a multi-talent!
So so glad to have had the chance to see him live this year. One of my favorite things was how much recognition and "spotlight time" each of the musicians got-they were all absolutely astounding to watch and listen to.
He should record this whole album here. The sound far exceeds the album. Just my opinion
I have a ticket to see him live in March 2024!
This is like a warm cup of coffee for my soul. Love this band so much.
Miles to Go was so good. Never heard him let loose like that!
All love to Gregory and this community 🤞🏽
The most talented musician in the world right now. Listen to this guy live, listen to his lyrics and you'll agree.
The Fall I think is his best song ever
KEXP, thank you. I cant count how many bands I've found and love because of you. I don't typically listen to this type of music so much, but damn this is amazing. Grateful to find out about this group. Reminds me growing up when my dad would always listen to James Taylor etc. This band hits me in the feels for that reason... Thank you for this
A soothing balm during these harsh times. Thank you Gregory. Thank you KEXP ♥️
what a gorgeous live performance 🥹 feels like driving through the hills of my favorite places
Love Gregory Alan Isakov, love his band and love John Richards for the vibe in this session!! It is totally disarming to watch a host interact with such respect, stoke and enthusiasm that manages to be lowkey, on the wavelength of this chill and humble artist, not talking over him or being overwhelming or bombastic. Yet engaging and upbeat. It's a hard balance to strike for anyone working in radio and I have huge respect for hosts that nail it, so we as listeners can enjoy good music and artists can feel appreciated and comfortable.
Amen
It strikes me how watching this performance conveys a certain delicacy to the music the audio alone is unable to capture. Incredible.
Watching this was nearly as enjoyable as seeing him that same weekend in Seattle. Dear god this group is talented. This is the best KEXP full performance recorded. Hands down. Tell me I'm wrong :)
Been listening for a while, but I feel like this most recent album really showcased just what caliber of an artist this dude is. So good!
so accurate and so many instruments perfectly played. No where to hide, exceptional talent.
lovely + beautiful......nothin' else to say about it.
Best surprise when I woke up this morning. The acoustic version of "The Fall" is simply magic!
His falsetto is unrivaled, and this live performance was truly divine.
his music just makes sense to me. and I don’t know why
Superb, mesmerizing. What a talented band. You can see and feel the connection between them. Gregory's voice is like oil on dry skin. Healing and rejuvenating. Love Appaloosa Bones. Thanks for the beauty, much needed!
His voice just has such a genuine touch. Really makes the beautiful lyrics even more poignant.
I’m so glad Gregory Alan Isakovs brother and sister in law turned me onto him 20 years ago so seeing him succeed is pretty cool. They’re a very talented family!
Saw this guy in the Lumineers concert in Nottingham in 2022. Blown away!
Caught him in Ashville NC right before Halloween , what a vibe.
I've already listened to the songs on Spotify. But this recording is much, much better and more beautiful. THX
This is some of the best music that’s out there. Bravo.
Miles to go has become the anthem of my fall/winter this year. What a poignant wordsmith he is.
Seeing you in Sydney last night was something I’ll never forget. You are all brilliant! Btw thanks for opening with The Fall. My favourite song.
Their live shows are phenomenal. Highly recommend!
Wow that first song was beautiful.
I like so much gregory Alan isakov i think is my best singer ❤
Met Gregory in Telluride CO about 2007 and have loved his music ever since. Will now get to see him again on the other side of the Atlantic in Manchester UK in a few days time. Very excited. He’s an incomparable songwriter.
mastery, talent and intuition beautifully combined
Its a soothing ambient voice with good music arrangement and instrument is the best
No words to describe
Oh he sounds so good
Wow...❤ this remind me my summers working on a farm sleeping in a dirty trailer. Always muddy and tired but very deeply happy and satisfied of life
Gregory and band are magic personified.
When he came to the Cheyenne civic Center here in Wyoming. He was so really good. Best concert I had been to. Thank you for this video
I was there. They killed that one too. This tour was amazing as well
NOW we're talkin'!! ❤
Thank you thank you thank you! I’ve listened to just about every interview with Gregory and I loved this one because the interviewer was a genuine fan, astonished by the beauty of this band like the rest of us. Such a joy to have this until I can see them again. Y’all are the best salve for the world today. 🙏🙏🙏
Favorite artist still after 5 years! Love everything he does at this point!
That was an amazing treat for a Sunday morning 🌄.
Love them. Come to Michigan pleeeeeeze!!
Jesus, just beautiful.
I am not screaming, you are!!!
LOVE, LOVE , LOVE THIS
My favorite musicians on my fave yuotube live music channel. Magic. Kudos to sound engineers. Nailed it.
Absolute genius. One of the best artists of our time.
Yessssssssss
I listen to this concert daily. One of my favorite GAI concerts. It may have been early for you guys, but you were all outstanding. Thank you so much.
I don’t think there’s a more talented bunch of musicians.
Before the sunrise just hits differently live with that violin. Saw him last night in San Diego. Been a fan for at least eight years. Feel silly for not going to every single show of his. Don’t sleep on Greg LIVE!
