Another way to kill Priestess Gut is to agree to follow her to her room (you can take whatever party you want, just have someone who can cast Silence), and just jump her there. If you cast Silence on top of her, she can't call for help, and if you cluster in around her you can box her in so she can't leave the field. She'll cry for help, nobody will come, and you can all curb stomp her like the copy machine scene in Office Space.
@@Fano2311 Yeah but the spirit of this video is to show ways to easily kill the bosses. "Easy" in my mind meaning minimal combat possible. So silencing her with the silence spell is a great way to do it. I admit this plan is less effective if you are a magic heavy party. But if the majority of you are physical combat based, slapping down the silence dome on her head right before you attack her works great. she screams for help, but nothing is heard. Which I thought was a great touch by Larian. Makes those Sussurus weapons all the more handy at lower level.
I just figured out a way to stealth the entire area. It takes a little while but it is solid and I tested it twice. First you have to get rid of the two Goblins on the bridge in between everything (above the spiders). To do this I used Astarion from high above and just stealth killed them both with range. This is the hardest part as sometimes you draw the other room but if you target the LEFT one first, kill him with one stealth shot and then run off, you will get away with it. Then repeat on the other and the bridge is cleared and you are set. From here you just need to use Wyll's cat to constantly draw the Goblins out one by one and then use Karlach to shove them into the spider pit. Over and over again. I was able to draw out and shove every last Goblin in the area until all that was left was the three leaders. From here, you can lure Gut into her room, kill her. Then stack a bunch of exploding barrels near Rag and stealth shoot it, kill him, no aggro. Repeat the same for Minthara with the barrels, stealth done, all clear. Now you can use the vendors both in and out of the Goblin city for the rest of the game.
Anyway you should kill whole camp for exp. Another good way to kill MORE goblins for exp when they siege Druids grove. With explosion barrels its easy kills, but hard to keep Minthara alive
@@DalisYnwell you'll need to kill them the traditional way, i did and it was very fun. Make sure you pick away at the goblins in the main hall slowly first though.
I killed Dror Ragzlin, the last dude, by bringing all the explosive barrels I could from the room full of explosive barrels, set the barrels around the crowd and used a mage hand to push the leader into the crowd shot the brazier hinge hanging above, causing the whole room to explode and all the goblins died. I had to make sure to push the leader into the middle of all the barrels so he soaks up all the damage and isn't blown into the abyss. I got it right on my second try and they all died instantly. And I got his worm. I had snuck into all the rooms from the raftors above and using crates and jumping around. The goblins in the hallway never noticed.
The way BG3 scripting works, knocked out opponents are still treated as dead. Even if you spare any of them, the game will still go through any death-related dialog. **SPOILER** Easiest way to kill the goblins is by taking firing positions on the high beams and raining arrows and spells down at them.
@@Jreft i didnt pick away at the Goblins in the main hail. I loaded the whole place up with barrels and blew everything up with fire. Was able to single out Ragzlin and get the jump on him from the ceiling platforms
You can also use your rogue to throw a void bulb behind Dror Ragzlin dragging him into the pit. I hid Astarion on top of the stone wall just inside the room on the far right, threw the bulb, and then immediately jumped out of the room onto another ledge. Easiest if the drow and floating eye are dead first and knife anyone else in the drow leader lobby that didnt die when you broke the bridge so that they don't spot the rogue throwing. Then you can run through that little drow lobby room again and over the wall to report back to Halsin. Then fast travel out. I left all the other party members hidden outside the temple where they wouldn't be found as the whole camp becomes hostile once you kill the leaders.
On PS5 (unfortunately since I guess PC is better for this) but I only was able to pull him into the void bulb once... every other attempt was a fail. But I'll try this version I guess.
For those who don't want to lose points with our vampire boy in the first goblin: try using scrolls and spells that confuse the goblin and then attack it at once when it is alone in the room (take your whole group). I had to try a few times but eventually you can kill her before she calls the others.
"lose points with your vampire boy" ? what do you mean? i don't normally use Astarion so I'm not sure but does he disapprove of your method of tricking Gut or something?
i just did this the other day and i’ll say this: The goblin camp, especially the three bosses, is designed to intimidate you. they throw a lot of em at you, but you can take them down pretty easily. you will take damage, but you dish out lots more. Most Importantly, make sure to bring Karlach and Astarion as they are capable of doing massive damage. Also also, make sure to talk to the spiders as they are super helpful with Ragzlin, and bring a smokepowder bag for Minthara (helpful if she stops on the bridge). PS: MAKE SURE TO REST AFTER EACH BOSS ENCOUNTER. they allow a break in between boss fights.
@@jawaelathe combat isn't fun. Everything misses but the enemies can hit you 3 times for big damage no problem... In D&D it works because it's you who throw the dice, not a game that's designed to have low chances to make it "difficult", I've spent 4hrs on this camp taking this guys out because my group kept missing every shot and was genuinely annoyed So no, it isn't fun to lose to randomized luck that's not in your favor.
I fought them normally with the Bear but also you can use mage hand and stand in the rafters up top to release the spiders to weaken and distract some of Priestess Gut's guards, but you need to join the fight before it ends because they'll all heal automatically if you stay out of it and let them kill the spiders.
Interestingly none has mentioned trying using the two giant spiders under Ragzlin's little throne room. They are very partial to a bit of goblin flesh.
i did this to but i forgot to try and go down to see if i could talk to spider and find body to loot ... somehow i got side tracked and left instead. i know you can jump down with spider as well as it looks like there is a web you can crawl down on but spider will see you and want you to mimic communication and at time i failed it but would like to go back there now that i know a bit more about game and toons ..
In the middle of killing everyone now. I let the spiders loose but it's not going how I thought lol in reality, I should have just sent 1 character that can turn invisible and unlocked the gate and ran
i place smokepowder barrel in the middle of Ragzlin throne and blew all the smaller goblins off, then pick off the the humanoid or drow followers behind Ragzlin using Astarion from the upper beams without entering combat, took 2 turns to kill Ragzlin. The drow's unexpected, she is tough for me, high DPS. didnt notice the bridge, would have used the minor illusion to attract her there. I tried pushing her down via Minor Illusion + thunderwave, but she passed the saving throw For Gut, again using Astarion on the upper floors to pick off goblins one by one while my party focus down Gut. Sneak Attacks single handedly carry the game
Didn't think about ridding Minthara using the bridge. Ragzlin took me 3 attempts by placing my party up in the rafters - destroy the war drum first, back your party onto the wooden planks in the corner so they are harder to hit, then pick everyone. Also shoot down the braziers when goblins are underneath them (add a bit of grease too).
If you kill like this, their loots are gone for nothing. Insteed take the explode able barrols and place them next to the Drow and Dror. 3 or 4 barrols would take them out easily
@@DragonFly-Gaming12 There are plenty of barrels around the game. Generally, any barrel you cursor over and it shows you attacking for 100% is what you're looking for, although the blue painted ones have water (no good here), the yellow painted ones are alcohol (which you can catch on fire) and the red painted ones are explosive. I think there's also some powder-keg types that you can use. Although, for the third guy, you cannot get close to him while visible, because a cut scene will start and you'll either have to fight him or let him speak with dead or try to manipulate him speaking to the dead).
I'm a newcomer to the Baldur's Gate series and seeing the hilarious way you double cross the last two made me wish I got into Baldur's Gate games so much sooner. My human monk and I killed the first two the hard way and Ragzllin kept giving me the business lol either death at his hands or death from under estimating how detailed the scenery was dying from getting pushed off a ledge or blown up on the 2nd floor. I really like all the options you have in battle and wonder what other games have this level of detail for combat. I never laughed so hard at something that would make me upset in any other game. lol Thanks for this by the way. I'm definitely going to try to think outside of the box from now on. I had no idea you could do them so dirty. lmao
My MC is a Drow half elf, so I decided to do a little teamwork with Astarion by casting invisibility spell on him then pretended to be alone with the Priestess. After the dialogue ended I have Astarion assassinate her from behind then hide her body in a wooden trunk 😂
Better solution, go to where the priestess usually take you. Stack box to go in the room next to it. Steal/send to camp all the fire wine and power barrel. With good placement you have enough to kill 90% of all enemie at each boss location.
You don't need an invisibility potion to start on Dror. You can just walk up knock him off the cliff and then hit the potion... Make sure your party is in the Worg pit and you are alone as it makes EVERYONE hostile. Which they leave out of the video. Also make sure you can take a few hits as if you are at the top of the initiative table you are going to take some. Then run to the Worg Pit regroup and talk to Halsin. You then need to fast travel out.
This does not work for me. I can't get to him without an invisibility potion. As soon as I approach him in visible state a dialog starts and after the dialog he sits on his throne and can't be pushed down anymore.
@@CongaYT BRUH, I got the same problem with Lathanders blood- in some point it was imposible to teleport- so I called destruction sequence and tryed to leave through opened portal, to find out that could teleport right away... Not 6H, but ~1H was suffering
Very clever. Never thought about destroying the bridge with her on it. I went against her and made the very bad decision to fight initially! I'll try this method next time!
i think you can use shadowheart command ability to freeze priestess gut so she cant call for help if you attack her on the first room. after that put 4 explosive barrel near minthara then Climb the ladder at the left side of ragzlin throne it will lead you to a wooden beam where you can see minthara, Use fire arrow or an alchemist fire and watch minthara explode. now do the same with ragzlin, put 4-5 exploding barrels near him, cast an illusion spell in front of ragzlin and ignite those barrels.
My perfect method: 1. After following Sazza into the main room go save Halsin in the upper right room 2. Get the mark of the absolute from Gut 3. Follow her to her room, place a fire barrel if front of the door then close it behind you, turn off the torch and hide your party in the darkness by the back door of the room and separate them from you 4. Refuse her in your mind, then once the dialogue finishes just attack her, then add your party into the fight and jump her 5. Hopefully she calls for help and the goblins in the main room will come to help and this room allows much advantage especially if the fire barrel is present 6. Kill all the goblins and Gut, loot her for a tadpole 7. Make sure all the goblins in the main hall are dead as well as the area before Ragzlins room and the ones in front of the room where Halsin is 8. Go retrieve Halsin then leave the room and climb the ladder to the right to Minthara and her goons 9. Kill all in the room (I kept everyone up on the ledge to have the high ground advantage) (I put Halsin on the floor to give extra damage then just ranged since his defense is high) 10. Loot her, then it leads to the cutscene to access new powers 11. Now this is very important, to avoid being absolutely wrecked by Ragzlin and his many goons I went and used someone who isn’t my main character while leaving my party in front of the room where we fight Gut to sneakily lure Ragzlin alone to my ambush. 12. Not necessary but i used several fire barrels from the room next to gut’s to blow ragzlin up 13. If you don’t use the barrels just lure him back to the party away from his room and many goons and jump his red ass and loot him
If you dont mind some pre planned worked... grab just about every barrel of Oil, Firewine, and Runepowder you can find. You can line them up from the first group of Gobs in the hall when you first enter, run the line of barrels to every group of Gobs/leaders. And then... just sit back and enjoy lighting the goblins giant birthday cake :) Yes Reco... Kaboom Killed 95% of everything in the main area in 1 big firey explosion. (use Runepowder around the leaders to make sure they die).
You will lose some good loot if you kill the drow and hobgoblin like that. Cloud of daggers x2 on hobgob, mag missiles x3, and one tank in the front helped. Then took out the lackeys one by one (Gale with feather fall on top, snipping). Gut was open warfare, cos of accidentally triggering the fight.
This is an avenue I wouldn't go down because wiping out the leaders is a pile full of battle fun and and item and worm rewarding, but this was cool to see. Thanks for posting it!
6:52 drop 2 bomb barrels next to the baddie, put team near warlock, hit dome of silence, shoot drum and bomb barrels, ez clean up, and you get some good shid, key to top treasure behind locked gate ....THE URGE!
I just killed the priestess in her "private talk" room. Then I freed the spiders using animal talk, I killed everyone in the main hall, then made my way to the drog. I then freed Halsin, who helped me with the last warmaster lady. Very fun lol. The spiders helped only in the hall though.
how did you open the gate in the main hall? i did it once successfully, killed all the goblins. then i messed up without saving and now i'm struggling to get it open again !
@@lpie1887 there is a lever next to the 2 guards, that opens the spider gates, but I didn't know that, my animal speak paladin went inside (from the hole above, like an idiot) and persuaded the spiders to only eat the goblins. I think otherwise the spiders will be hostile to all. Not too sure tho. (I also was able to open the gates only after entering combat mode)
first 2 are easy, for last red globin, have your all team member fast travel out and with your last character go side of his throne and shove him and immediately tp out before the "they dont like it" cutscene happens. no need of invis potion
I'm level 3, killed the red guy in one try. Destroyed the drums so they couldn't call for reinforcements, then killed the weak ones, then the red guy. 3 more goblins near by showed up and we took them out. Got some loot. I'm about to try and kill the drow. That one looks a but more difficult. Lots of hp. Going to try and kill the eye, the drum, goblins, then her.
I got Halsin and my enlightened ogre bros to help out with the battle. Ogres left after we killed Minthra (take her armor for that +1 stealth) after that it was sorta a uphill battle since half my party was split luckily shadowheart dodged so many attacks even I was impressed. Took out gut pretty easily I thought she was a normal gob at first. Got lucky with the gob I pushed into the spider pit when that happened the last boss and his group were focusing on the spider while I cleaned up the main hall. In the end last dude went all the way around where I first entered from and was pretty easy to kill once my whole party ganged up on him. Last guy was a goblin archer in the rafts but easy clean up. Was surprised how long that whole ordeal took but it was a fun time lol..
LMAO thank you for this guide! For me Ragzlin was sitting on his throne so I couldn't do it without fighting, so I just broke his throne he fell on his ass and then I kicked him off. I just had to fight a few of his goons and it was over :)
Just placed Lae'zel by the side of his throne and pushed him the same way right now. But I was curious to check his loot, so reloaded and used gale to push 3 goblins at once into the spider pit, while Shadowheart and Lae'zel pushed the other 2. Anyway, just wanted to say that you still can push him even in the throne.
When fighting Minthara.. i try to put someone near the drum first, since i know someone would try to run to the drum and sound the alarm.. and when the fight start, i shot off the bridge to cut off reinforcements, and cast Fog Cloud on the top ledge..cos archers will be there supporting with Acid arrows and such.. So having Fog Cloud to deter archers, and destroy the bridge to prevent goblins from running in and help, and silence whoever runs to the drum to sound the alarm . Keeps the fight easier ad you focused on Minthara only. I want her armor and clothes..and parasite . So dropping her into the chasm is out of the question.
I do you one better , use the spectator flask that you get from the caravan strongbox put it on the ground cast mage hand then go away ,switch to mage hand to throw the flask , watch the havoc => profit
I jumped the priestess in her room, using sleep to ensure she wouldn't yell for help I took the explosives next to the priestess room, distracted the drow with minor illusion to set the barrels down out of sight and blew her to smithereens Then i used minor Illusion again to lure the hobgoblin and a bunch of his goons beneath the hanging braziers and took him down in 2 rounds raining fire from above Really fun, lots of ways to do it
Or you can use the 3 barrels of black powder to explode them. I found that the priestess and drow were fairly easy to beat. So I positioned my party high above the back of razglin and threw a gunpowder barrel at him. (Have to make sure it his the fire too!!) If you took the time to save the gnome on the windmill, you can get a sac of firepowder that you can throw at Raz's feet and it won't explode and he won't notice until the big badaboom
Thanks for the heads up. I been experimenting with different ways of killing the three goblin leaders and made a few tweaks to your method here. This game is too much fun.
Also if you sneak a bunch of the fire barrels from the merchant area into guts area you can blow them up with one brassier. When I did that it also did not make the goblins hostile.
I once had an idea for a spectacular way to kill the goblins that attack the grove. 1. Get a bunch of grease bottles. 2. Get a bunch of explosive barrels. 3. Make minthara go to attack the grove. 4. Before blowing the horn to start the battle, place all of the explosive barrels and throw a ton of grease bottles around the entrance, making sure the grease puddles are connected with each other, and the barrels. 5. Begin the battle, and light the grease on fire. 6. Watch as a nuclear explosion instantly vaporizes 99% of the attacking force.
I’m in the same predicament. I have the bear at my side and I killed minthara normally. I have no clue how to kill the other two though. I’m still not sure. I don’t have any way to go invisible and the goblins fight on sight with me
The one problem I have with the Gut interaction is that Larian should have coded in some exceptions. That is, like a half-elf bard or elven rogue with the Actor feat, being able to pretend to fall asleep after drinking the potion.
@@radityapoerwanto7018 because I played a half elven bard and he recognized the potion so bards can recognize sleep potions also. I tried drinking the potion to see if I could then pretend to fall asleep as there are other options where bards can act to fool people but instead she became instantly hostile. That’s why.
Cast silence while priestess gut is in her room and jump her there (close door to be safe) tell minthara where the camp is so she leaves, fighting her in her group is easier than fighting the whole camp. But before you leave to go fight her while she's gone. fight dror and his little group close both doors and if u can light them on fire by casting grease from a high point. Make sure none of them hit the drums after fight, since you won't be in combat just teleport to your camp to get ready for minthara. You get all there loot without having to go through a lot of pointless goblins.
You don't even have to go through the trouble of getting caught for the priestess. Just get her alone in a room and then jump her. Unless you want the flavor of getting saved by korilla.
though gotta make sure you kill her in one turn, unless you want to fight the entire goblin camp then and there. After one turn she yells out for help.
I feel big brained for figuring out you can jump her in the room. I used karlach to take most of her health and then had the rest of the party jump her. Gut has high evasive depending on your level so save once she is in the room before you try. Also don't talk to her in the room just use your biggest move once she is in the room. Pretty cool/funny how so much freedom the game gives you
I ended up killing the hobgoblin by playing a bard song next to him, and an exploding barrel. When I played my lute, all the goblins swarmed around me, then I used the flame spell with Gale and blew it up. Killed all the goblins and did like 25 to the hobgoblin AND knocked him down. Of course my bard was knocked out but It made the fight super easy.
My favored Dror Ragzlin method is using the 6 smokepowder barrels from the Zent storeroom. Place four around Ragzlin, two near the cronies in the room. Then go up to the rafters and use Scorching Ray: one on a barrel near Dror Ragzlin, and the other two to hit the barrels near the cronies. They will all die and you will only need to fight two Level 1 humans, which you can easily pick off in the rafters.
@@Manawar That is true, people can and should play the game the way they want to. BUT, there is something rewarding in truly RP'ing your character and owning the choices you make. That said, Quick Save exists for a reason :)
I think there's a point in reloading. I'm using it a lot and always used it since the previous entries in the series. Since it's a game, my responses and actions can not reflect what I was thinking they were going to. In tabletop I can discuss with the GM about that. But in a game I need to try to see how the things gonna roll. Also, there are times when I'm just way too curious about what's behind a door, lmao.
I have that curious problem too XD! I see a response I wouldn't normally choose and impulsively click it... more often than not I am thankful for F5!@@AllenDelorie
how do you push Dror off so effortlessly? every time i try to push him off or use a spell that propels him backwards it isn’t enough to send him flying down the pit
I blew up all the bosses with one explosive barrel except Gut, but anyone else gets the whole camp hostile to you after you kill Ragz? Even without witnesses. I don't care much since I did pretty much everything there was to do there (except exploring where the spiders are in the pit), but it is strange. I wonder if it's a bug.
Priestess was a joke for me, when we were alone in her room the door inside (I believe now leading to her Chappel with her guard) was locked and I tried to lock pick it. I got a warning once and I did it anyways agitating and she started fighting me. It was only her vs 4 of my party members. The battle was over in 30 seconds xD
I went around destroying every drum I could find they I killed any Gobs I found in small groups and tossed the corpes into the dark pits nearby and then took out each Goblin leader one by one.
If you're a collector then yea, you'll want the weapon. If not, the warhammer he drops is mediocre plus you need to be branded/marked. There are other much more powerful melee weapons out there and not that difficult to acquire too.
You also have to start the game all over once you get to Act II if you don't loot Minthara's body since it has an item required to advance the story in Act II. She gives it to you if you side with her.
Just note that minthara tactic used here does not work if you're a paladin with a specific oath-found that one out the hard way. The oathbreaker cutscene will play and you miss her walking over the bridge
I have it on good authority that if you throw a certain spectator potion into any one of those rooms it will mop up stuff for you. And it doesn't make the goblins hostile.
That's what I did. I turned invisible and threw a mysterious bottle I got earlier in a cave at the goblin king. It was a giant tentacle monster and he cleaned house in the main hall. I just had to play clean up crew.
I stole barrels and then distributed them around Minthara, waited for the eye to go away and blew them up. Had no trouble, got the worm and some cool stuff. For the red guy i put the barrels next to the goblins, and blew them up using Magic missile, using the last missile to destroy the War Drum so they couldn't get reinforcements. The only people alive after that were pretty easy to kill, and Red Guy against Four Guys is a pretty easy win.
You do NOT need to be Human in order to kill Gut in this way. You just need to not be an Elf. Elves are immune to magical sleep. Attempting to drink the sleep potion, and failing to fall asleep will treat it as you refusing to drink the potion and Gut will become hostile. I think this is the worst way to kill Gut anyways from a narrative perspective. It makes your character look very weak and it kinda breaks immersion too. Your party is standing outside the room for... what? Days? For a good deal o this game, simply being a murder hobo is actually preferable to the some of the alternate ways of approaching a fight. It might be different on Tactician, but for Story and Balanced, a forward approach to 95% of situations is just easier. The 5% are MOSTLY in Act 3 where, even on Story, I had a couple close battles. A certain revived Bhaalspawn and enemy from previous BG games comes to mind as one of the closer fights I've had.
If you can't loot the bodies, it's a wasted kill imo. There is a guarded room with 3 non-goblins watching the door (one is a vendor). You can access that room other ways to avoid them. The room is full of explosive barrels. I used them to blow 2 of the 3 bosses to bits (the shaman goblin is easy to solo). I got all of their loot. I wear the drow's gear, and store her body back at camp. :) Did all of this solo, no companions. Of course I'll side with the Drow on my evil campaign.
Blew the horn and pushed Minthara off a cliff. Walked up behind Gut and gave her two backstab arrows. Blew the horn some more to clear out Ragzlin's room. Threw a barrel full of explody shit at Ragzlin. Eezy peezy.... Didn't get Minthara's loot but that's my only complaint.
the last boss you can sneak your whole party up to the rafters and just rain down hell on the enemies so you get all the loot and the key. they got to the war drums but no additional enemies came was pretty easy.
the big red guy is the most difficult one. the way i beat him is to go to the bottom left of the room where there is a ladder and a cliff, bring your party up there except 1 person and activate the fight. then run them over to the rest of the party and destroy the ladder. kill them one at a time but focus the red leader if he comes out.
You don't need the invisible potion. Climb to the roof and aim at the hinge on the fire hanging basket on the left hand side, this should kill two of the guards underneath without alerting anyone. Shoot at the war drum to stop calling for help Shoot at the fire basket may lure some of the goblins walk underneath, then shoot at the hinge. (So far, this shouldn't alert any goblins into battle mode) Then go back to the ground, position your players. Place the wizard next to Ragzlin and other players face the goblins ready to push them down the ditch. Start with your Wizard pushing Ragzlin down the hole. This should trigger battle mode. Then your other players shove the goblin down the ditch. The giant spiders in the ditch will kill them off. Job done.
I snuck my party in through the crumbling wall and hid them above the main room. Then, I had Astarion shoot Priestess Gut from the rafters. She came running up the ladder...right into my party. Granted, I'm sure it might've been different if Astarion failed his stealth roll. I think I kind of got lucky no one else aggroed.
I blew up Drog and his band with barrels, but I think I might attempt to see if pushing him off while inside a Fog Cloud will keep the goblins from aggroing same as how you can steal anything inside Fog without angering npcs.
Used a human and Gut got her throat cut but ended up messing up pushing the dude over the edge and had to fight the whole temple interior. During that fight, Gut inexplicably returned to life and joined the battle...
The way i did it: Take potion priestess gut. Minthara, let astarion do backstabb without talking. My party was myself: a fighter, gale, astarion, shadowheart so the fight went pretty easy. Then i went to fetch the druid Halsin and took the rest of the fight to Dror ragzlin and killed the rest of the camp. Now im done and i won. And got the loot.
I just wanted to let anyone who plans on romancing Karlach after doing this method, that once you convince Minthara that you'll aid in taking down the Druid camp, even though you are just trying to get her into position to break the wooden bridge, this small Act pisses of Karlach, and prevents you from continuing with her romance quest. She does not come to you at your camp whole your sleeping to flirt with you, she disregards your approach when you tell her you like her during the Tiefling celebration, and she doesn't really have anything to say as far as a romance goes after you temporarily fix her engine, and even hug her during Act 2. In short, the Game Devs purposely put a mechanic in the game which cancels out Karlach's romance, all because you wanted to use some strategy instead of brute forcing everything like every other Action based game.
I attack the Goblin Camp when I was inside, and used the horn to call the 3 big Ogres I hired when I went to Blighted Village earlier to help me clear out the camp...
The way I did it was to save that dude for last. Waypoint out all of my chars other than the one doing the pushing. Push him off them immediately pop the invis pot and waypoint out.
For me Minthana was easy fight anyway, she got like 2 goblins there and that flying orb, so I nuked her in 2 turns, then the rest. It really cost max 1 spellslot on Gale and Shadowheart.
Wow.... i remember dieing like 20 times fighting the last guy and his crew. My strat was up on the pillars and aoe bombs. It worked. But if i play it again, ill probably try this 😂
I'm a save scummer so when I died I reloaded immediately. I also went into the pillars. I had Gale cast Grease on the last boss and the guys surrounding him. Then I had Shadowheart throw a smoling barrel on top of the group. He's immune to fire but the minions got hit too. My character cast "Hold Person" on that last boss. I managed to pick off everyome else.
I suggest killing them with the barrels of black powder that you find in the room next to the old goblin, this to be able to steal all inclusive from the merchant also
destroying the bridge with minthara- was that her name? whatever- the drow on it makes you lose your chance to get her amour tho, and it happens to look damned good on Astarion, so... I level up as much as I can then take her on methodically section by section so I don't get overwhelmed and having lump's warhorn comes in handy too.
Is there a way to kill the last leader without having to fight all the goblins? I followed this method, and escaped the room while invisible, but the goblins stayed hostile.
you can stealth kill him. put darkness on a caster. cast darkness on one of the guards patrolling upstairs and after passing a stealth check, you can hit them in melee range inside the darkness. after killing one of the guards, the hobgoblin will come and investigate. rinse and repeat with him. karlach as a monk is especially lethal with this strat because of flurry of blows(topple).
All methods in this video still worked for me as of 4.11.3624901. You can push them off. Activating turn based mode once the Drow is on the bridge makes it much easier to make her fall. She only really has to have one foot on the bridge for it to work. !!!!!REQUIRED!!!!!! - You need to have a method of movement that will allow you to move across the chasm once the bridge is dropped. I did the first boss first, and found a necklace of Misty Step, that I transferred to my main character whom I used for the Drow. This allowed me to set up for the last boss. I only had one scroll of invisibility and hadn't taken an invisibility spell on my mage, so I had to fight the room, but without the boss there it's not terribly difficult.
I didnt have any movement items but i went far left of the chasm after the bridge is broke right next to the torch thats on fire and it let me jump across no problem
thank you for this tip - was struggling on console to do this, probably would have got there in the end but you saved me from some very tedious reload/retries I think! 🙂
For some reason on this third play through I did not get any void bulbs to kill that goblin, and even after having killed two of the leaders, when I got to Halsin he said it was too late to kill the goblin leaders that troops were already mobilizing out to the Druid grove - so not even an option to kill him that way, but rather go defend the grove LOL.
I whooped her with two retries before her help came in. if you’re smart and camp the door well the archers will dash in like fools
Makes those Sussurus weapons all the more handy at lower level.
going into battle waste skills and spells. And she depletes hp meaning you will need to waste a short or long rest
I did just that back in early access.
Damn it felt good to be a gangster.
That's some Julius Caesar move
Can you make a video? It’s very hard to understand. You sound like you’d be good at making them.
Just know that if you kill the last 2 leaders as shown in this video you will NOT get their amazing loot or the worm.
How do you get them without killing them
@@DalisYnwell you'll need to kill them the traditional way, i did and it was very fun.
I left all the other party members hidden outside the temple where they wouldn't be found as the whole camp becomes hostile once you kill the leaders.
or you can use a void bulb like you said and pop an invisibility potion right after you throw, another option
@@BobassoThere are so many options
You miss out on his loot and his parasite by doing that.
On PS5 (unfortunately since I guess PC is better for this) but I only was able to pull him into the void bulb once... every other attempt was a fail. But I'll try this version I guess.
How do you make a companion stay at a place and not follow you around? A lot of my stealth was ruined because of the rest of the party following me
For those who don't want to lose points with our vampire boy in the first goblin: try using scrolls and spells that confuse the goblin and then attack it at once when it is alone in the room (take your whole group). I had to try a few times but eventually you can kill her before she calls the others.
"lose points with your vampire boy" ? what do you mean? i don't normally use Astarion so I'm not sure but does he disapprove of your method of tricking Gut or something?
@@happyninja42 if hes in your party he will disapprove if you choose to let the priestess brand you.
i just did this the other day and i’ll say this: The goblin camp, especially the three bosses, is designed to intimidate you. they throw a lot of em at you, but you can take them down pretty easily. you will take damage, but you dish out lots more.
Man this game is amazing. I never would have thought to do the 2nd one. It's crazy the amount of freedom you have.
I genuinely laughed out loud at that part 😭
I didn't know you could do this. I took the druid with me and fought the whole army and just killed them all. Took a bunch of retries and some cheese.
I failed my first attempt, and now I'm on my second. It's driving me nuts!

So no, it isn't fun to lose to randomized luck that's not in your favor.
@@-AnyWho There is a gate into the spider enclosure behind priestess Gut's throne.
I lured goblins there and had laezel tackle them into the pit
Discovered this as an option after killing everyone single handedly through difficult battles, but it was worth the XP
I tried pushing her down via Minor Illusion + thunderwave, but she passed the saving throw
For Gut, again using Astarion on the upper floors to pick off goblins one by one while my party focus down Gut.
Where do you get the exploding barrels
@@zottel393 He CAN be pushed down- tried multiple times not to aggro all goblins- stupid video silence about this///

I just fought my way out. It was a blast. Dropped a statue on a goblin shaman.
After following Sazza into the main room go save Halsin in the upper right room
2. Get the mark of the absolute from Gut
3. Follow her to her room, place a fire barrel if front of the door then close it behind you, turn off the torch and hide your party in the darkness by the back door of the room and separate them from you
4. Refuse her in your mind, then once the dialogue finishes just attack her, then add your party into the fight and jump her
5. Hopefully she calls for help and the goblins in the main room will come to help and this room allows much advantage especially if the fire barrel is present
6. Kill all the goblins and Gut, loot her for a tadpole
7. Make sure all the goblins in the main hall are dead as well as the area before Ragzlins room and the ones in front of the room where Halsin is
8. Go retrieve Halsin then leave the room and climb the ladder to the right to Minthara and her goons
9. Kill all in the room (I kept everyone up on the ledge to have the high ground advantage) (I put Halsin on the floor to give extra damage then just ranged since his defense is high)
10. Loot her, then it leads to the cutscene to access new powers
11. Now this is very important, to avoid being absolutely wrecked by Ragzlin and his many goons I went and used someone who isn’t my main character while leaving my party in front of the room where we fight Gut to sneakily lure Ragzlin alone to my ambush.
12. Not necessary but i used several fire barrels from the room next to gut’s to blow ragzlin up
And then... just sit back and enjoy lighting the goblins giant birthday cake :)
Yes Reco... Kaboom
Killed 95% of everything in the main area in 1 big firey explosion.
@@JreftYup spiders are hostile to everyone normally. Found this out when I thunderwaved goblins into their pit lol
I just got all the captives and objectives inside done and then systematicly hunted them. The barbarian guy was the hardest
I killed him first..
you can lure him away from the others with minor illusion or "stealth" killing the guards on the stairs.
first 2 are easy, for last red globin, have your all team member fast travel out and with your last character go side of his throne and shove him and immediately tp out before the "they dont like it" cutscene happens. no need of invis potion
If you knock out Minthra instead of killing her, in chapter two you can recruit her to the team.
Where do i sound the horn? I sounded it in the same room as the leader and they wont come

LMAO thank you for this guide! For me Ragzlin was sitting on his throne so I couldn't do it without fighting, so I just broke his throne he fell on his ass and then I kicked him off. I just had to fight a few of his goons and it was over :)
You can still push him into the pit while he's on the throne.
Must be nice to have invisibility potions
the trader in the shattered sanctum sells them - but buy them from her before you kill all the gobbos - she disappears once all the goblins are dead.
You can hire the Ogres and call them... They will clean the room.
That's the most fun way. Especially role playing a barbarian beserker. Oh man I love this game

@@PicesQ I was thinking to do this. Did you still get aggro from all camp?
Fank and crew got absolutely rolled when I summoned them here 😭

for ragzlin its kind of a tight timing but you can push him as his chanting animation starts and still fast travel out
For priestess gut, I just threw gilded chests on her from above and no one saw or agro'd. ❤
I jumped the priestess in her room, using sleep to ensure she wouldn't yell for help
I took the explosives next to the priestess room, distracted the drow with minor illusion to set the barrels down out of sight and blew her to smithereens
Then i used minor Illusion again to lure the hobgoblin and a bunch of his goons beneath the hanging braziers and took him down in 2 rounds raining fire from above
Really fun, lots of ways to do it
Or you can use the 3 barrels of black powder to explode them. I found that the priestess and drow were fairly easy to beat. So I positioned my party high above the back of razglin and threw a gunpowder barrel at him. (Have to make sure it his the fire too!!)
If you took the time to save the gnome on the windmill, you can get a sac of firepowder that you can throw at Raz's feet and it won't explode and he won't notice until the big badaboom
6:19 "Excellent work, 47. Now head for an exit."
Don’t you just jump over? The rest should follow if your in group mode 😭
6. Watch as a nuclear explosion instantly vaporizes 99% of the attacking force.
thank you so much for this! i ended up being able to kill minthara just in battle but i had no idea how i was going to be able to kill the other two 😂
I’m in the same predicament.
How could they pretend to sleep if they didn't know it was meant to put them to sleep?
@@radityapoerwanto7018 because I played a half elven bard and he recognized the potion so bards can recognize sleep potions also.

I have it on good authority that if you throw a certain spectator potion into any one of those rooms it will mop up stuff for you. And it doesn't make the goblins hostile.
That's brilliant
That's what I did. I turned invisible and threw a mysterious bottle I got earlier in a cave at the goblin king. It was a giant tentacle monster and he cleaned house in the main hall. I just had to play clean up crew.
2:39 Why some random NPS can assassinate boss in one move but real Assassin class do 10 dmg from stealth and then agro whole floor :(
Good kills, but you really need those bodies for the other parasites so you can upgrade your mindflayer powers
I've pushed and used a void bomb, but dor ragzlin won't go down the pit, or if he does, the entire camp is immediately informed
Can the astral hand push raz without goblins getting hostile or do they just automatically know it was you?
I stole barrels and then distributed them around Minthara, waited for the eye to go away and blew them up. Had no trouble, got the worm and some cool stuff.
For the red guy i put the barrels next to the goblins, and blew them up using Magic missile, using the last missile to destroy the War Drum so they couldn't get reinforcements. The only people alive after that were pretty easy to kill, and Red Guy against Four Guys is a pretty easy win.
So like has anyone tried this? Cuz I just did it twice and both times it won't let me drink the invisibility potion again.
That last kill made me unreasonably mad
I spend so much time stuck in the first and and you just tested him
the guy doing the ritual can be yeeted by repelling blast eldritch blast if you dont have a potion
the last boss you can sneak your whole party up to the rafters and just rain down hell on the enemies so you get all the loot and the key. they got to the war drums but no additional enemies came was pretty easy.
the big red guy is the most difficult one. the way i beat him is to go to the bottom left of the room where there is a ladder and a cliff, bring your party up there except 1 person and activate the fight. then run them over to the rest of the party and destroy the ladder. kill them one at a time but focus the red leader if he comes out.
You don't need the invisible potion.
Climb to the roof and aim at the hinge on the fire hanging basket on the left hand side, this should kill two of the guards underneath without alerting anyone.
Shoot at the war drum to stop calling for help
Shoot at the fire basket may lure some of the goblins walk underneath, then shoot at the hinge.
(So far, this shouldn't alert any goblins into battle mode)
Then go back to the ground, position your players.
Job done.
Tried 5 times, every time battle starts.
Invisible sounds way easier, but I need their loot so oh well.
I don’t get it to push the last one down. Only to the edge. How to I do that ?
The way i did it:
Take potion priestess gut.
Even if she's at camp when u do so?
I attack the Goblin Camp when I was inside, and used the horn to call the 3 big Ogres I hired when I went to Blighted Village earlier to help me clear out the camp...
Princess Gut: I had already stole the potion so she glares at me and casts a spell knocking me out instead lol
what do you do after the invis wears off? it just starts a fight at that point with anyone who sees you, so its not really a fightless method.
you can also push the boss down the spider pit and arrow him to death, he doesn't do anything down there and just runs around in circles.
Fellow Netbattler I see :D
The way I did it was to save that dude for last. Waypoint out all of my chars other than the one doing the pushing. Push him off them immediately pop the invis pot and waypoint out.
im already in act 3 but my jaw dropped when i saw how minthara was killed. i wish i knew it was that simple lmao
Are there other exits to avoid the main one? after killing the leaders outside hordes of goblins are waiting for you and they are impossible to kill
Can you not just Tele out?
@@theventhatiqtho8112yep I did just that. No need to stay there after I've killed everyone inside and freed hal
i made with the 3 giants help all lv4
They can be killed, every run I did I would teleport out before coming back in via the bridge. Can't not get those sweet sweet bags of exp
I level up as much as I can then take her on methodically section by section so I don't get overwhelmed
and having lump's warhorn comes in handy too.
i believe you can get that exact same armor from the myocid camp trader in the underdark! i just got it for him today on a file with my friend
Unfortunately I'm a Paladin and can't kill Minthara that way without breaking my oath.
I didnt have any movement items but i went far left of the chasm after the bridge is broke right next to the torch thats on fire and it let me jump across no problem
you can also just fast travel and walk back in
@@CyrusehI just jumped over the chasm.
Yea I just jumped over where the bridge was
thank you for this tip - was struggling on console to do this, probably would have got there in the end but you saved me from some very tedious reload/retries I think! 🙂
For some reason on this third play through I did not get any void bulbs to kill that goblin, and even after having killed two of the leaders, when I got to Halsin he said it was too late to kill the goblin leaders that troops were already mobilizing out to the Druid grove - so not even an option to kill him that way, but rather go defend the grove LOL.
i fealed the sleep poution part so i sumoned ogres and just killd evrything in sight
Awesome video, but I love the loot too much. Plus, wiping out the entire goblin village is satisfying and a decent amount of exp.
I had absolutely zero idea that Minthara was a potential companion. Obviously I just slaughtered all three bosses...
lol! Well, shit. I just pushed her into a hole 😂
My jaw dropped when I saw how you killed Minthara!! clever hahahaha
You'll miss some loot and tagpoles if you push them off the bridge and do it this way.
