Can you run the E MT 5 callipers and Lever with the Shimano XT Ice discs or am I better off paying the extra $150 and get the Shimano XT ice 4 pot callipers and levers?
You can´t combine Magura callipers with Shimano discs, since the magura discs at 2mm thick and have a wear limit of 1,8mm. The Shimanos start at 1,8mm. Which brake pads are recommended for the mt5 estop? Will reg mt5 pads fit also? Thanks!
Hi Sam, nice inputs.
Can I still use a Magura MT7 on my e-bike? Or does Magura really recommend the MT5e for an eMTB?
Yes mate you can use the MT7 on ebikes or nomral bikes
@@SamsBikes What about the fact the MT7 has no sensor. Is there an MT7e?
@@vripiatbuzoi9188 Isn't the MT5 estop lever compatible with MT7 ?
@@surronzak8154 I think it is.
simply get pads under tap get em wet rub pads together for a short time to rub top layer off let em dry install them then it will shorten bed in time alot
Can I ask is it necessary to bed in as you say? Will they not bed in naturally on the trail? Cheers
Na you really need to because you need a even wear on the brake pads.
@@SamsBikes cheers
Sam I noticed you put your gps leaning forward your handlebar. The mounts for gps could also be place backwards. This way you will protect your gps if crashing by putting it behind the stem. Personal experience! 😂 ...
Haha shit that’s a epic idea never thought of that thanks 😊 rider!
Hi Sam , I’ve got the shimano xt’s on my new bike , which is a first time for me , I always seem to end up up with sram, but I get a kind of pulsing feeling through the lever , have you come across this anything like this with the xt brakes before , cheers Phil
Phil 100% get that checked. Shimano are normally amazing you can shit right on the power and use it when you need.
@@SamsBikes cheers Sam , i will get it checked,
Yo llevo los MT trail con discos mdr-p.220/203.👌
good call
Добрый день, подскажите mt5 estop лучше тормозят чем mt5, чем отличаються кроме электроники ? mt5 estop лучше тормозят чем mt5 просто ? или подскажите мне нужно на Sur-Ron 50Кг байк. спасибо
Sam, I need this Shirt in Black and 3XL! Can u make this possible? Please!!!!
BTW, I got these discs on my Decoy with the Sram Code. Imo it is an good upgrade vor the RSC, with Trickstuff Power brake pads.
nice one bro... the Race top or the T shirt ? email me and ill make it happen. samwordley@gmail.com
@@SamsBikes The Shirt with the nice Decoy on it.
Hello. Are the pads with which the magura mt5 e stop brakes come with organic? Thanks
Magura Pads are all organic 👍
is there an interrupt switch for the levers?
Not sure sorry don’t really understand the question
@@SamsBikes for ebikes the brakes have a wire to interior the throttle when the brakes engage.
Hello! if you use it in your "ebike", dont you need brake sensors attached to your levers, in order to activate ebrake from the electric motor, or something related?
No not at all.
Excellent in depth review mate... Just waiting for DHL to start shipping again, so I can give my Propain Ekano(MT5) a blast!!!!! Keep it up, ride long ride hard....
Thanks mate ! Love to hear how you get get on with the ekano and the brakes
So new Shimano discs are already at the wearlimit for Magura callipers.
But imo there is no need for the ice-tec discs, in our shop we had more problems than wirh them. the mdrp keep everything cool enough
Hans, I'm pretty sure you can set up and brakes with and rotor but they say its best to have the same rotors and brakes
Are the Bruni signature levers metal or composit?
3-D titanium printed
@@SamsBikes I don't know what that is. I guess a better question is, "do they feel like metal?" I want no composite flex. I like my levers stiff and responsive.
Dude, put some magura 8 r pads on them, then you ll feel the power 👍
Is there any difference between the mt5 and the mt5 e?
Just the pads.
Just the pads and they look a little different in the style but very much the same brakes
correct thanks for answering that
can I use these on a pedal bike? What’s the main difference between these and the standard MT5? These look a lot cooler with the silver calliper and I can’t find the standard MT5 in stock anywhere
These don't have the motor cut off cable.
Easily add power with 8.P or 8.R pads but excellent review and thanks!
good call I will defo add the race pads next!
Budget Brakes? Im new to ebikes, but I thought budget brakes were the stock brakes that came with the ebike. I might be in trouble lol.
I prefer the normal mt5 over estop for my E-Bike cause the Brake Pads are worse for me
Hi my friend! I want to buy mt5 or mt5 e-stop brakes and i can't understand what difference they have..? Can you tell me..?
Thanks 🙏
@@Antony--DIY looks and pads.
@@lakaldrak worth it to buy Mt5 e-stop instead Mt 5..?🤔
Yes or no..?
... budget?
Yes best budget ebike brakes
@@SamsBikes are they really budget though? Is there any more high end brake that has e brake functionality?
I don't care what anyone says. Bedding in your brakes is not important if you are not reliably on them immediately.
1 year on and Xt brakes sets are getting up to around £300- £350 mark now 👎
Get the biggest ROTOR AND MATCHING SPACER you can fit on your bike YOU WILL BE HAPPY
Gotta say thats not how to bed in your brakes first go out in the back yard and do say 20 noise wheelies down the hill then go wheelie up and down the road from say 25 kph down to stopped say ten times job done brakes ready and way more fun .
I changed the lever to shimano on my mt5s so much better
not the first time I have heard this... might give it ago!
