My husband has mistreated me for a decade, with a few abusive incidents in between the years. Recently he threatened me physically and I called the cops- he went to jail. My single prayer was that God would create a soft heart in him. He came home from jail with that message, that he went from having a heart “on fire” to one that was soft. Discernment is still necessary walking forward but pray this is real. We’ve had many false repentance moments. Please pray my husband will see and know God. (I thought he did.) I’m praying my own heart stays soft, but wise.
My sister is in a similar position with the multiple not followed up repentances by her husband, I hope you two can walk forwards TOGETHER in a healthy safe and God-trusting relationship ❤️

I’m confused that my husbands heart is never tender toward me. It’s as if there is no feeling - sometimes a meanness of spirit but mostly a hard heart as you describe. I stay and get confused about how I pray and forgive but pain and sadness is still here. I cannot cause my husband to change. When I ask him questions to try to open his heart to me, he just looks at me and looks away. He will not speak about it. I went through a time of letting the anger covering my pain to take me over but now I just pray for God to soften his heart toward me. I appreciate this message and know I can pray for a tender heart toward me.

Now, allow Him to heal you. I'm going through the same thing; 39 years of betrayal, manipulation and vindictiveness. Pray for him as commanded, and release him to God. Afflicted. I have been afflicted. Offense. I have had a spirit of offense. Hardened. I have had a hardened heart. In my separation from the love of my life I war able to reflect on the time with her and family. What I found was that my heart had been going backwards. Hardening in ways instead of softening. God used break-up to reverse this process. As well, a few other consequences. Surrender to God was necessary for this. And it took a few blows to receive Him. I am now faithfully returning to an amazing woman willing to wait for me. Aim with me for growths and ask with me...of God...to prepare us for a lifetime.

When they are not accountable to God for their actions, they will do whatever pleases them, as a result I ended up getting hurt all the time. Once their motive is other than serving God wholeheartedly, the partner who is a true Christian will get hurt. True love comes from God alone, outside of that is pain and destruction.

This is what has happened to me I forgave him over and over but I feel this is mental abuse. By the lies broken promises and betrayal. I am broken by a Man I trusted.
Forgiveness is necessary for healing. But forgiveness does not mean a person should enable abuse. The Lord knows all things including those who will repent and change. It is up to us to ensure we ask the Lord to help us to forgive and thereby start to heal. As for the betrayal and deception, PRAY about it.

This is what has happened to me I forgave him over and over but I feel this is mental abuse. By the lies broken promises and betrayal. I am broken by a Man I trusted.
Forgiveness is necessary for healing. But forgiveness does not mean a person should enable abuse. The Lord knows all things including those who will repent and change. It is up to us to ensure we ask the Lord to help us to forgive and thereby start to heal. As for the betrayal and deception, PRAY about it.
