- Warner Brothers 1989 Movie directed by John G. Avildsen. Morgan Freeman as Principal Joe Clark.
Principal Joe Clark: I want all of you to take a good look at this slovenly, sloppy boy - as an example of how NOT to dress. If you look like THIS in the morning, find some other clothes to wear. Self-respect permeates every aspect of your existence. If you don't have respect for yourself, you're not gonna get it from anyone else.
haha. Luv this scene!
My dad had a personality like Joe Clark. He died in 1993, but I still thank him everyday for helping to make me the man I am today.
My dad is a complete puss. Useless jail bird. I envy you.
Sam's stunt of stealing a meatball had a domino effect of getting everyone in trouble, including a teacher.
Mr Clark caught him quick i bet they can feel his presence looking at them without him there
hahahaha
He missed that School Free Lunch……. Which is why he wanted to let back in! LMAO! 💯
Oh Mr Clark I'll never forget you! You truly cared about us. I'm thankful for all your talks and advice. You lifted me up when i felt hopeless. My greatest memory was when you cheered me on in the cafeteria as I battled 2 girls in dancing. I love you Mr Clark rest in peace 12/29/2020
What? You knew him?
Did you really get the chance to meet Mr Joe clark
WOW!! Your very fortunate!
@@shauncruise1342 The REAL Joe Clark obviously was her Principal when she went to the REAL Eastside high, so YEA she knew him. Lol
You do this today, that teacher is gonna be on the news, fired and sued. The boy will be made a hero and an article will be dedicated to his emotional struggle after the humiliation

He didn't have to do Mr Darnell like that in front of everybody
Joe Clark runs a tight ship. Its the military boot camp style. When a school is in need for some dire help, some drastic changes need to be made. Not only was he educating those guys but he was developing high character individuals. When he says dont move, he means dont move.
Andrew Bell Preach!
Yeah, that was foul.
fashizzle78 Agreed.Darnell was about to serve him in the office though,lol..
fashizzle78 Yes he did.

Mr. Clark is like a father to all kids
Mr. Clark said it right. self is important. if you are not changing your clothes everyday or wearing the same dirty clothes every day u have no self respect. I got a bunch of fully grown men that live in hood that refuses to change their clothes. just nasty people.
and that's just sad
Or just wear decent clothes, that's the thing.
It's only nasty if you don't wash your clothes
Yeah but I'm sure those guys work with the hands and get dirty a lot if not then I'm sure they are down at the Homeless Center
Self-respect is not magical
That's just attraction
You guys confuse Love For Lust 👨💻😑
I bet you $10 that's going to be someone looks like you very young in the twenties coming back to me saying they are very confused about what I just stated up above watch I always get all these young confused type of ppl

Old school 80s freestyle music never gets old
And 30 years later we're still fighting for $15 an hour
Some places now are paying $16hr, and $20hr now.
That's what happens when you let your government open "free trade" with slave labor countries like China (that can undercut any democracy) and also outsource labor to folks like thousands of foreign visa workers. Bill Clinton and his boys singlehandedly destroyed the labor unions of this country.
i want all of you to look at this slovenly sloppy boy here 😂😂😂 and when mr darnell put his head down he was laughing

We need Joe Clark's Nationwide
My favorite scene in this whole movie is when the deliquent kid comes into the cafeteria and tries to stab Mr. Clark and Mr. Clark kicks his butt and tells Mr. Wright to "Get this disgrace to his race outta here!!" LOVED this movie.
2:05 "You're providing a deleterious influence here!"
Mr. Clark teaching even when he's disciplining.
Didn't know I needed a dictionary for this scene! Lmao! Clark is off the chain!
He was such a funny principal 🤣💯
This doesn't look much like chaos, I mean the intro had more violence than this.
Eddyisrich403 This should be renamed Lunch Humiliation Scene since it's about Clark demanding the students learn the school song and care about going about their lives in a way they can be happy about or that shows they are neat, tidy, and organized. It was cool he checked in with other students to see how they were doing before targeting Thomas as it showed he had tender concern for them aside from just a militant demanding exterior hence the "Crazy Joe" nickname.
Eddyisrich403 Maybe it should've been Lunch Scene.
Lol yeah this is regular lunch tbh
I love Mr Clark he was man of discipline and authority which what we all need today no one is holding us accountable for anything anymore because everybody gets so offended now and days he made those kids better ppl and he brought out the potential not only in the children but parents and teachers as well so with that being said (We don't want a new principal we want Mr Clark) free Mr Clark free Mr Clark lol
Kimberly j No one gets offended.
Kimberly j people are held accountable
what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
@@slimpickens9135 Explain.. because today children are barely held accountable unless the parents in the right minds and can find other ways around the system that is empowering these children. Females are next in line in that regard, and after them are homosexuals.. There are schools taking the type of positions that just leads to the students finding ways around it instead of being held accountable for their actions. But elaborate.. maybe I missed it..
@@danerook Really?? I happen to come here due to a brotha giving props to a lady enforcing a dress code to PARENTS at the high school she runs. Now, how much accountability are ppl having these days if she had to go to that extreme for the first time in that school. Mind you she won some big state won award i believe for changing the previous school she was working at..
"Let those who are trying to eat, digest." 😂😂
Joe Clark: Alright, let's hear it.
Sams et al: (inaudible) Eastside...
Joe Clark: Mr. Darnell, no one is allowed to move during the singing of the school song.
Mr. Darnell: I was just picking up...
Mr. Clark: REPORT TO MY OFFICE...IMMEDIATELY!
Mr. Clark: Quiet! Quiet in here!
(Sams laughs. Mr. Clark slaps him with his clipboard)
Mr. Clark: All right, continue.
Sams et al: (inaudible)
Mr. Clark: You boys are on detention, three days each. You must learn the school song next time or you will be suspended. This goes for everyone! You will sing the school song upon demand or you will suffer dire consequences!
Mr. Clark: Mr. Wright, take this riffraff to my office.
Goddamn!
1:49 Sams! Put it back! Put it back! How many times do I told you, boy? Put that down! Put something in your head, not on it. Pull your pants up! So some kind of dignity! Have some sense!
What do we need to fix our education system, a bull horn, discipline and respect. All things at our disposal nothing we need from the government.
And Morgan Freeman. Don't forget Morgan Freeman.
Remember when he said they barely got enough funding for books let alone doors that sound alarms. The school couldn’t afford basic necessities. So yes, they did need federal aid.
Sometimes, Mr. Clark seemed to be a bit heavy-handed on the people at that School, whether it be students or teachers. However, that was what was needed!
Throughout the whole movie mr clark acted like he was always in a bad mood, but he still has a heart for The kids and wanted what was best for them
The freestyle music of the 80s. What a wonder!!!
This movie was amazing.
I had a principle who was like This guy, he didn’t care if he hurt your feeling he told only the truth. Lots of parents didn’t like him but we barely had any sort of issue until he retired.
you know the principal doesnt play when he has Candyman as security
Oh you're right! I never noticed that before
I like him. He reminds me of my grandpa!
Mr. Clark called on Candy Man to take the riff raff to his office! Lol 😂
He said, "Mr. Wright, take this riff-raff to my office."
Mr. Wright's a baddass!
Candyman
" I want of you all to look at this sloppy slovenly boy here.." 🤣🤣
damn "put something in your head not on it" 😂😂😂 ctfu !!
I applaud the efforts of what Joe Clark did for Eastside high school, but he was a little too obsessed with the school song , hell I don't remember the words to my own high school song & I've been out of school for 30 years , but all Joe Clark did he was a good man for it God rest his soul
"Nobody moves during the singing of the school song."[Singing continues] "At Eastside High-igh-igh".
"Mr. Donnell, in the principals office immediately!"
You would think it was the national anthem or something the way Mr. Clark acted
You boys are on detention. Three days each. You will learn this song or next time youll be suspended. This goes for everybody! You will sing the school song upon demand or you will suffer DIRE CONSEQUENCES!!
I had a principle like this in 7th grade.....he needed to be that way...it was a wild school....security guards, metal detectors and everything.
these are the kinds of teachers and school principals we need today but unfortunately they would fire them.
Sad but true
Morgan's finest performance ever! ive seen the real Joe clark and as much of an angel as he was, I dont think he could come close to the anger of Morgan Freeman.....r.i.p. Mr. Clark
He’s strict about that school song.
The fact that it at least allows radios to be on during lunch.
Shows his leniency.
" PUT IT BACK, PUT IT BACK"!!!
Capital middle school forced us to watch this in 1995!
dire consequences!! right into the boy ear. 😂😂😂 . take those riff Raff into my office. I cried
"Best High School Movie I Have Ever Seen" ❤❤❤👌👌👌👍👍
Try living it
4:14 and with that a Harmony Group was really created "Riff"
$17/hr starting off today is good, in some areas but at that time in 1989? I know that bread went along way then
With inflation that 17 then is almost 27 today
Report to my office!!!! IMMEDIATELY
wwwoooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was just picking something up
Probably the most effective thing Mr. Clark did as a principal. You can threaten kids nonstop with detention, suspension or not allow them to participate in sports all day long, but they can't stand being humiliated in front of other kids and doing things like this are probably extremely motivating in getting them to behave.
Kid ray looked way too damn old to be in High school, he should be in college some where.he looking like he's 30 years old.
agree big time.
I went to school with a guy who had a full mustache and a beard and was starting to go bald in the middle and he was only 16
Maybe he'd been held back a few years. That's why he was tired of school.
Stayed back like 8 times
He looks like he is 21 to me . knew someone who was a 21 year old freshman when I was a Junior in High school
Joe Clark definitely makes me appreciate all of my teachers that had this same MENTALITY. This is what’s missing in our school systems today as well as the homes. Thanks to my father for his firmness on me and my siblings.💯💯💯🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽👍🏾👍🏾
Some teachers went too far with this mentality which resulted in students doing the worse in retaliation
“I want everybody to look at this.... Slovenly, sloppy boy here....” 😆😂😂 Joe Clark would be sooo canceled in 2021. R.I.P. 🕊🕊

Clairisse? You honked off with that skeezer?! Too funny 😂😂😂
Kids could learn from a movie like this.
"Now if you look like this when you look in your mirrors in the morning, find something else to put on." which is why some school districts rather have uniforms in schools.
I didn't know Morgan Freeman is lefthanded. That explains some of the reason why he is phenomenal.
3:31 that female teacher is fine

This is what we should teaching!!!! It has nothing to do about race, just what do you want to do about yourself!!!! It's you that's gonna make a change, nobody else!!!
Joe Clark saved Sams' life in everyway, shape, and form.
To quote Apone from Aliens....
Absolutely badass!!
I was one of the few white kids in a predominately black grade school in Philly back then. We had a teacher (a science teacher) named Mr. Robinson who reminds me so much of Joe Clark. He demanded respect and kept everyone in line during his class. Nobody fucked with him. During his class, you stayed in line or you faced hellish wrath. He should have been principal. A wonderful man who stuck up for me in a way I'll never forget.
Mr. Charles Robinson of Greenfield Elementary - thank you.
Sucks because if any teacher was “rough” like Mr. Clark he’d be outed faster than in the movie.
Funny chemistry between Mr. Clark and Mr. Darnell! Love how as soon as Mr. Darnell stooped down Mr. Clark immediately slammed down on him 😂!!!
Love him!!! A legend in education and old school discipline!!! No wonder why the kids turned around :) who couldn’t listen to him
Wish I had a Mr. Clark in my school back in the day!
Wish school principals were like this. In my school where I graduated, nobody fucked with the principal.
I WILL LIKE TO WATCH THIS MOVIE OVER AND OVER AGAIN
"Mr Sam's and his friends are going to sing our school song"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
