thank you for this reaction Sofie, i have been a So Hyang listener for about 4 years now, i have watched her videos, including reactions, more than a thousand times maybe. yet it still gives me goosebumps everytime. lets forget her technical strength in singing, she is a very powerful singer in terms of connecting her songs to the listeners, the emotions are pure and it will really penetrates you...that is the legend in her. an angel no less.

I have listened to what you have to say as a reaction several times as I feel that you have so much great content. I agree that to pull her craft into the most human of connections she must put her heart and soul out there for us. This requires near perfection so as not to distract the listener, a most controlled vibrato and air flow, and above all - it is her commitment to deliver a divinely guided performance to each individual that will listen to her. I do believe as she does, in Christ and in an omnipotent God. It is her faith along with her skills, love, and pain that deliver to our souls an unforgettable experience of her faith.

Sohyang touched my heart and shook my soul with her voice. And I keep coming on because it's so gratifying to see others share the same reaction. Thank you for your reaction and comments. As you said, forget about her high belts, her interpretation of the song with the amount of emotion it delivers, has so much impact that we are simply overwhelmed by the magic in her music. This 2018 You Raise Me Up is indeed a masterpiece by Sohyang. She said during the program that this song represents her personal story (presumably with her faith) and puts all her inner feelings out to share with her audience. Another great reaction. When it started, and I have seen it, and everyone wonders... wait, this is not the right song..... I said out loud to you, just wait a minute sweetheart.,...lol. Also, she had severe pneumonia during this performance. She was told by a Dr., a little before going on, that she should not speak. Yet with weak lungs and a bad throat she pushes ahead and does this. If you go back and listen to the end, where she says Thank You in Korean, then kinda blushes, it is because that it came out raspy due to her voice. How she was able to force that to come out as clean as it did is beyond me.

If I’m not mistaken, SO HYANG was diagnosed with cancer…after surviving the ordeal she saw her second chance at life as a gift from God and dedicated her voice/life to brining joy to others…she is a gospel singer who grew up singing in church and she rejected international fame choosing instead to sing only for Jesus and to raise money for charity. This is why I believe we feel so much from her singing...its from above and real.

It's okay even you're speechless, because your facial expression and body language can say what you can't with words :) . Thank you for putting up with KBS. I appreciate the extra editing you had to do to post this video. KBS is so stupid for enforcing copyright. They could've used Sohyang, one of the best vocalists of all time, to promote their shows and their other artists, by loosing their grip and allow reactors to do the promoting FOR FREE. Actually, no. Wonder if you have heard of Kim Jin Ho? He has three ballads that are worth reacting to. If you react to him, please react with Eng sub and with tissues at hand. He tends to get reactors all tearing up. One was even sobbing hysterically.

Don't hate. Just giving my opinion. This is probably my 4th or 5th time listening to her to see if i can change my mind of me not liking her. Yet again I just can't find her voice being sweet or sounding like an angel. In fact i found it irritating. It kind of sound like a wife yelling at her husband. True she got great range with great techniques. Hitting high notes like nobody's business but those high notes that i cannot tolerate. Comparing it to Dimash, his high notes which are even higher at times are tolerable to me and do sound like trumpets coming from heaven. We all have our preferences so i will not listen to her again.

I didn't call you a hater, I just find it pitiful that you can't recognize and appreciate an immense generational singer like her. Btw if you think Sohyang is just all about hitting high notes (albeit with supreme support and resonance), you're gravely misinformed and missing out on a lot of good vocals as that is only one aspect of her singing ability. Listen to her more subtle performances such as "Misty" and "Wind Song" and you will understand more aspects of her impeccable vocal talent. To dismiss a true vocalist so unwaveringly to the extent "i will not listen to her again" is not hating, but pure ignorance.
