Nice film Phil and Juliet, my wife keeps adjusting the fridge to she seems to be just the right height lol .. I must sort a panel out , she also as a C Pap machine the only problem I foresee is perhaps going off grid in the future . Anyway good to see you both regards Glyn 🇬🇧
Hi Glyn. The Fridge door can be a pain. It doesn't like must on the door shelves. We don't do off grid for the same reason. I think you can get a 12 volt lead for the C-Pap Machine but they are very expensive. Thanks for watching. Phil & Juliet🙂👍
HI David. Yes some mods are unseen but make a huge difference. We have a curtain for the front door at home. We need a new one. Hope all is well and you had a great birthday. Thanks Phil & Juliet. Ps Love to Lindsay.🙂👍
Great video as always, nice to see mods that don’t cost the earth our new van when it arrives will be the same heating on the major 6 I think it goes underneath so will be doing this mid myself. One thing I’m glad about in the 2023 caravans their are now more usb ports thankfully however one thing I have asked the dealer to do was an extra mains socket and satellite connection I probably could of done these myself in hindsight really.
Hello. The mods we made have helped us out a great deal. Swift have made some good improvement to the Sprite over the last 5 years. The gates on the vents and the insulation have worked really well. Yes USB's were an issue for us plus the down lighters in the lounge are at best poor. I would not worry about getting your Dealer to fit the Mods you have requested it means you have less of a faff when you get it, more time to enjoy and make memories. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Hi Phil & Juliet, If the modifications make an improvement they are worth it 👍and caravan manufactures should take note of videos like this. With the blown air heating, we do the same by shutting one or two outlets to direct warm air to the washroom. I’ve fitted lots to our caravan and it’s like yours, looks like one that’s come off the ‘specials’ production line 😀 All the best, Rob & Gail
Hi Rob & Gail. I wish they would watch your videos and mine too but I have always said they don't listen a to a Middle Aged Man like me, despite the fact that I am the average age of their main Customer base. Yes it is a little bespoke now. Juliet calls it her Apartment on wheels. Thanks for watching. Phil👍🙂
Hello Both! Thanks. Some really useful information in here. I've learnt so much over the past few months from you and as they've made your caravan better to use than they're all worthwhile. For me next month, there's going to be an extra USB / socket at the front and a taller side splashback next to the hob 🤗
Hi Phil & Juliet. Another great video thanks. I have made several worthwhile modifications to my caravan too. I went around a dealership recently and looked at several new vans with a mate who is looking to buy. All the time though I was thinking, "if I bought it I'd have to fit this or change that to get it how we've now got ours". That'd be on top of the £10,000 to £15,000 we'd have to find to replace ours with the latest model. Needless to say we're not swapping. Can you tell me the name of the company who made the carpets for your caravan please? Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve. Thanks for watching. Adding little mods here and there makes the Caravan more of your own space. We are very happy with ours, it's nothing like how we bought it, i think our Dealer would be shocked in a nice way at the changes made. The Carpet Company has since moved and I don't have a forwarding address but we are making a video about custom carpets very soon with another Company who Specialise in Caravan & Mh Carpets. This Company price very reasonable around the £100 mark. Watch this space. Thanks Phil👍🙂
Hi Phil and Juliet. Great video and some great mods as well. The only one that would concern me was the insulation wrap around the outside heating pipe have you checked that water or dirt hasn't collected behind it. If its clean I would be something I would be interested in doing to our caravan as on paper it looks like a great mod and we suffer Thame same problem. Would be interested in your thoughts. Thanks Paul and Sarah
Hi Paul & Sarah. My Caravan has no wood in it the underfloor is made off composite so it will not rot. I can see this being an issue with wooden under floors. If an air gap is left between the floor and insolation there should be less of an issue. The pipe clips are adjustable so this could be resolved. I hope this makes sense and helps. Phil👍🙂
@@lostweekendscaravan thanks Phil it was a question I needed to ask as I think it would be a good addition to our caravan. I will be looking into it and exactly what type of floor ours is as well. Thanks again. Paul
Some good mods there 👍 In this day and age I’ve no idea why they don’t put more USB charging points in caravans! Ours has only 2, right up front - nothing in the bedroom end 🤷♂️
Hi Rob. Hope you had a great Birthday. Yes they are mean with the USB sockets. I think the only Company with this sorted is Bailey. Many Thanks for watching Phil.👍🙂

Hi. I am no expert but i have not been that please with our Dometic Fridge. All the wire shelves has corroded and the plastic door shelves have started crack. Thanks Phil🙂👍

Great video on your mods. My mods have mostly been in the power department. With the exception of door curtains to help in winter.

Hi. I like the fridge cover idea. I don't understand why the manufacturer did not design it with a flap.
Hello. Good question! I did try to contact them but got no reply. The fix works though. Thanks Phil👍🙂

Dometic products are absolute cheap crap. I install both Thetford and Dometic on a daily basis. Thetford is far superior.
