Ok so what's happening here is; a musician who has gained success in his career, is unhappy that the dvd that his band is making for the fans is having to be cut short, correct? Correct. He's fucking raging at what looks like the tour manager because he, as a popular musician, or any for that matter, is obsessed with playing live. He loves to play for thousands of people on stage, his career before this has been nothing but thousands of people night after night. So he expects that his FANS (in the crowd and buying his DVD) are going to expect a full setlist that night, aswell as seeing those songs on the DVD. Now by the looks of it, they shot the DVD over 2 "identical" shows so they could choose whatever footage they can for a better result. So the manager Man is saying to cut a couple of tracks off as they already had them for the DVD on the previous recording.. I'm guessing, an educated guess, that the Astoria was putting on a G-A-Y nightclub after the show so the venue had a strict curfew for concerts. THE REASON HE IS FUCKING PISSED OFF IS BECAUSE HE LOVES TO PLAY LIVE. Not because he's being a diva or a brat, it's because he wants to play on that stage for as long as humanly possible for the people that paid to see him/them. The comparisons he made to other bands not having to cut their sets on their own headline tours is not because he thinks he's on the same level as them, it's because at his age; they're the band's he has in his mind to reference from. I remember when I met Zakk after a BLS show a few years back. Their drum tech had just broken his leg inside the club a few minutes before and he found out as I was talking to him outside. I saw him go from being funny as hell to ballistic in the matter of a second. I'll never forget the promoter looked like he was gonna shit bricks.

Man, I am 46 years old and I love the comment that he learned from the old man, Ozzy and I got a kid who plays better than I do now. My son does alternate tunings and my son loses his old man, but man I keep teaching my old, blues and I love it all. Zakk can shredd and I respect Zakk for that and am proud of my boy who can do it too. You do learn from those who come before you no matter what they choose to play. I am a fan of Zakk too.

I've ignored the guitar player/singer a few times (just listening to the bass) and had to shove the bass player back into the groove at least once (there's a lot of jams, ie; Forrest Gump's box of chocolates: you never know what you're gonna get)

This is on the Doom Troopin' European Invasion DVD- it's 2 DVD's with boatloads of live footage and backstage stuff, interviews. He's just getting steamed over being told to cut his setlist short here, everything else is him and the guys having a blast. Zakk has many great songs, and maybe if he had cut his hair and wore a stupid hat like Fred Durst like the buisness men wanted him maybe he would have had more radio hits or some songs that people that only listen to whats supposed to be cool at any given time listen too. he has many ballds and accoustic songs that could have been hits if he had been the new cool thing. but at least he's still going strong and will be until hes dead instead of being a one hit wonder. he's a musician not a celebrity and most of his songs are better then most of the crap thats been on top of the charts the 5-10 years or so.
It has nothing to do with image, it has to do with his songs being awful. I have listened to his stuff and it's un original and uninspired. It sounds like he cuts songs to put out an album instead of writing good songs with substance behind it. But again my comment was more about him acting like a diva and treating his crew badly. Do any of you know how a live show works? Zakk's not comparing BLS to Ozzy or even Led Zepplin he's making a point. It's their show, BLS is the headliner. Opening acts should not over step the band the fans have come to see. "Tim" is technically the crew manager. It's his job to check up on set backs, and what's going on with the set up of the equipment. Yeah, Zakk's yelling it took over 5 hours to set up, that is rediculous. Zakk's just stating fact here, you'd be pissed to. Quit riding him.

First, this was BLS's tour and concert, second it took 5 hours to set up the equipment when it should have only taken at the most 2. One of the opening bands insisted that BLS cut their set list so they had more time to play. Yeah, Zakk was pissed and anyone that knows the industry would understand. I remember when I met Zakk after a BLS show a few years back. Their drum tech had just broken his leg inside the club a few minutes before and he found out as I was talking to him outside. I saw him go from being funny as hell to ballistic in the matter of a second. I'll never forget the promoter looked like he was gonna shit bricks.

Man, I am 46 years old and I love the comment that he learned from the old man, Ozzy and I got a kid who plays better than I do now. My son does alternate tunings and my son
loses his old man, but man I keep teaching my old, blues and I love it all. Zakk can shredd and I respect Zakk for that and am proud of my boy who can do it too. You do learn from those who come before you no matter what they choose to play. I am a fan of Zakk too.

Zakk has many great songs, and maybe if he had cut his hair and wore a stupid hat like Fred Durst like the buisness men wanted him maybe he would have had more radio hits or some songs that people that only listen to whats supposed to be cool at any given time listen too. he has many ballds and accoustic songs that could have been hits if he had been the new cool thing. but at least he's still going strong and will be until hes dead instead of being a one hit wonder. he's a musician not a celebrity and most of his songs are better then most of the crap thats been on top of the charts the 5-10 years or so.
It has nothing to do with image, it has to do with his songs being awful. I have listened to his stuff and it's un original and uninspired. It sounds like he cuts songs to put out an album instead of writing good songs with substance behind it. But again my comment was more about him acting like a diva and treating his crew badly. He kept saying Ozzie never had to go through this etc.. And what I'm saying is if you have a catalog like Ozzie then you can complain, until then just be happy you are making a great living doing what you love.

Do any of you know how a live show works? Zakk's not comparing BLS to Ozzy or even Led Zepplin he's making a point. It's their show, BLS is the headliner. Opening acts should not over step the band the fans have come to see. "Tim" is technically the crew manager. It's his job to check up on set backs, and what's going on with the set up of the equipment. Yeah, Zakk's yelling it took over 5 hours to set up, that is rediculous. Zakk's just stating fact here, you'd be pissed to. Quit riding him.

First, this was BLS's tour and concert, second it took 5 hours to set up the equipment when it should have only taken at the most 2. One of the opening bands insisted that BLS cut their set list so they had more time to play. Yeah, Zakk was pissed and anyone that knows the industry would understand. He's right, Ozzy would never allow something like that to happen. I'm a Beserker, I want as much of BLS that I can get a concert, I don't want to hear just what was on their latest album! Peace!
