Thanks for viewing my channel. The main focus here is bowhunting lethality and testing and evaluation with the emphasis on the only part of your gear that actually does the killing (THE BROADHEAD) Especially as it relates to SHARP and sharpening. In addition there will be other outdoors related content
What qualifies me to try to impart wisdom on the subject of bowhunting lethality? Ive been bowhunting for 50 years, Im a chronic maker and tester and DIY prove it to myself rather than take somebodies word on the subject. Im in the bowhunting business with my own bowhunting products company and via the work I do for other bowhunting companies. I do real world evaluations of gear. I show how you can do it, with the focus on broadhead lethality (sharpening) Then I hunt all over with those items. Im a heart shooter. The most lethal bowhunter is the one that targets the heart because you gt the lungs by default. I also maintain a bowhunting blog at ronkulas.proboards.com/

I really appreciate the video! I'm building at least one of these as soon as the roll of aluminum screen I ordered gets here. Of all the ideas, tests, and videos, this one makes the most practical sense.
Just subscribed. Good work
Did you build this wood furnace yourself ? Looks like a project and not able to just pick up at the local Home Depot haha
Its a purchased wood burning stove that you would fins in the basement of any home and ducted into the furnace ducting. Its just outside in its own building and a portion of the ducting run underground to reach the basement furnace.
Thats great getting sharp !! Too bad the STEEL IS 💩 and will not hold an thru the Hair !!
SUPER informative - especially about the mesh UNDER the generator. Most of us outside "the know" would have thought the topside coverage is all that's needed!
Loved the video, liked "how dull is your head"
Great videos. If you had to recommend these or the VPA, which would you choose? I feel like the tanto tip would be more beneficial than the VPA head. Thanks
Im a fixed blade guy BUT if I were to choose a mech head, it would be SEVR. VPA makes great stuff too. You cant go wrong with any of their heads.
@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 Thanks for the reply. I am actually referring to the single bevel fixed heads.
I TAKE IT THAT WAS A NEVER SHOT OUT OF THE PACKAGE BLACK HORNET THAT GAVE THOSE SHARPNESS RESULTS OR LACK THERE OF??? PLEASE
Did you test feather fletching? With broadheads?
Did you give up on your broadhead design?
tape inside where there are holes - handles etc.
Thanks for a great video
I would suggest making one side of it able to swing open so that you can just roll the generator into it instead of lifting the cage off. I'm sure you can seal the edge well enough when it is shut.
How does it hook to the arrow
Ive never seen an exodus that dull out of the pack
Noooo don't do try the thumbnail test.very bad idea😂
The video was super informative and satisfying thank you. Another thing I would like to know is after every 20 or 40 cuts of paper measure the sharpness again. Or after every 10 cuts change the material. Cut plastic bottle, tomato and so on. So that we can find out how quickly a blade dulls over time. Maybe you can compare standart steel and high quality steel. Just an idea for your TH-cam videos.
Nice work mahn, a cheap way to sharpen knifes
❤ Bravo
Glad to see another cereal box stropper 👍
How long total time did it take you to sharpen the one knife?
a really dull big knife takes 15 mins. smaller knives take less time.
@@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 Hello Ron, are you going to putting out anymore broadhead sharpening videos?
@@robmattingly5279 yes we will.
@@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 Okay that's good to know.

What if the probe is under the deer? How far does this track?
Wow very impressive Hats off 2 u sir
not really expecting high quality sharp for a dollar a piece, i sharpen them and they work excellent
Thank you for the tips. I just new on using diamond stone
Made me feel better!
How many GPH can you boil off with this setup?
Can you upload your file for orinting your hooper extension?
Were can I buy this at
Am I the only idiot that can’t get the blade off the ferrule? 😂
Remove the screw. Screw the head onto an arrow. Point the arrow with the broadhead facing down. Tap the back of the blade with a wood stick (hammer handle works well) on one side and then the other side. Repeat.
Love this video! Informative, simple, and hilarious. Well done.
Very Impressive! Thanks!
Bravo to this tutorial boss man
Thanks for doing the test with the radio. Very impressive, nice work!
Can i use this same system on my simmons timber sharks broadheads and if so how can i buy this same sharpener kit? Thank you.
yes. Here is a simmons video we made using this same C kit from stay sharp guides. th-cam.com/video/4nWKheINz5o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2uQcgTY7zf5hYvy1
@innovativeoutdoorsman5067 thank you , how long will each section of sand paper last on a average?
@@outdoorsman9384 no way to predict. Yo will get many strips to wrap around the dowel from a single sheet of silicone carbide paper. Id suggest odering an additional 10 pack of the silicone carbide paper on the stay sharp web store.
How do I get one of these?
go to staysharpguide.com Tat is the replaceable blade gide
TAKE MY MONEY
Could you do a video on the Razor branded single bevel broadheads? Thanks again for your great videos!
My neighbor has an outdoor furnace and stinks up the whole neighborhood.
No finer smell than wood smoke.
I have the hardest time getting my single bevel heads sharp, this is great!
How long did the first step take to get a repaired flat cutting surface? If I'm not absolutely perfect with initial alignment, I feel like I can spend hours, on the first step to get a burr across the whole face of the blade, and I'm not removing large amounts of material. (not pushing hard either)
Not long if you are using 240 grit diamond plates.
How critical is the initial polishing step? What’s the best way to do that?
@@lancebarkman3124 final buffing does in fact increase the degree of sharpness.
I had a pacemaker implanted and the Dr. said I couldn't work on my motorcycle, motor not running, because of the magnets used for the ignition system. I'm trying to create some sort of faraday device to I can do some minor work. Any suggestions would be great.
I'd be worried about that pacemaker if a emp or a strong solar flare happens
All good but aluminum tape not needed
I had asked if you have to ground the Faraday cage and the other thing is what do you put underneath between the ground surface and the cage itself a piece of wood with rubber a piece of metal cuz it can't be on the ground Yes explain
Do you have to ground a Faraday cage
Does type C only work on concave and convex shaped broadheads?
no, it will work on straight edges as well
How did you insulated the duct work to the house ? Thanks
Both the cold air return and the hot air run several feet underground ans in through the basement wall. The hot air duct is then ties into the gas furnaces cold air return so instead of running the furnace we just turn on the furnace blower and the hot air if moved through the homes duct work.
Hey so if anyone is wondering, yes the tips can be made cut on contact. Sharpen them the same you would with a 3 blade. I started with 240, then ran through the grits- 400,800,1200,2500 then a good stropping. Made them stupid sharp. Removed a total of 0.8 grains
Most excellent!
