OutKast | Aquemini - 09 - Da Art Of Storytellin' (Pt.1) [Instrumental]
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 12 ส.ค. 2013
- Veröffentlichung: 5. Oktober 1998
Label: LaFace Records/Sony BMG
Produktion: OutKast, Organized Noize, David „Mr. DJ" Sheats
- เพลง
this instrumental has a heavy “look back on life” vibe
Oh wow that is so true. Everytime I listen it brings me back a bit.
Insanely accurate
This is another instrumental in reverse it has that affect on you
This beat sounds like what it would sound like if you were chilling underwater in space in the 90s
Elvis Shelton under the water AND in space? yooo
Hebrewski got a sub for that, never thought about it that way before.
kojinko thanks bro, I will be uploading content soon
that doesnt make sense but I get it at the same time.
Hebrewski it's because the water is in the sky i.e. clouds.
Crazy how the bible was breaking down scientific facts!
One of the greatest beats ever made. I’m open for debate.
that snare and bassline are hard to beat indeed
Can’t argue fax
Joel Colon I suppose you can count J Cole’s Land of the Snakes as a sample maybe, both songs are hard af imo
Joel Colon Me too unless someone can use word play like OutKast I wouldn’t dare them lol.
Wu-tang Clan: C. R. E. A. M.
"... We got stickup kids, corrupt cops, and crack rocks
And stray shots, all on the block that stays hot..." ATLiens whole album slept on tho.
One of the nastiest beats I ever heard. Remember the first time I heard this shit
This beat always bring tears to the eyes and chills to arms. Not many songs regardless of genre can do that to me. Outkast will always be the best
Casey Hancock
After all these years I get the same feeling
This and Sky's the limit by B.I.G are the only ones
Casey Hancock no doubt real talk
Same. The only other beat I can think of that make me feel this way was climax by j dilla
Same here
One of the most melodic beats ever. Fuck yes.
Sasha Thumper!
BeEazy I remember her number like the summer.
This the shit I use to roll down Louis Street with.....
Dude this plays in my head like background music & plays in my dreams I wake up remembering the vibe & this instrumental only & god it's so magical.
Toughest track on this album
might be. might be.
Agreed
+StretchakaKickman I would have to disagree. Too many on there to say that. The intro is dope. Followed by Return of The G was insane. Raekwons verse on Skew it on the BBQ was historical. Da Art of Storytellin pt. 1 and pt.2. NOT TO MENTION SPOTTIEOTTIEDOPILICOUS AND CHONKYFIRE....AND I left out SYNTHESIZER....BOY STOP!!!
+evan maxwell AND LIBERATION MAY BE MY FAVORITE AND I FORGOT THAT ONE!
Rosa Parks
I remember when I was still like either 2, 3, or 4 and I heard my father play this in the parking lot at night at a Home Depot. I miss being young.
I miss being a kid to man 🥺
You don’t not remember from 2 or 3 years old shut the FVXK up clown ass boy
I can't t imagine how long you have to be in a studio just to make this one song. Exceptional!!!!!
Right
To be honest, I heard this beat thru JCole first, but I'm still rocking with outkast on this one, no comparison.
Same. Just found out about the whole Aquemini album and Andres verse on this song tells a touching story.
LAnd of the Snakes is great but doesn't compare to this.
I heard it through Cole, too. I feel like he did great on this instrumental. But no one will kill it better than OutKast.
@@SantoryuKauboi really??? Where have yall been?? And how old are you??? 🤷🏾♂️🤦🏿♂️😂 It's all good
I loved J Cole’s version when I first heard it. Still do. Then I heard this version tho. Suddenly the J Cole version felt much lesser in comparison.
Heard it through Big Krit freestyle 🔥
"I said 'what you wanna be', she said 'Alive'
should be in the bible
lump in my throat ery time, fuck you bro 😭😭😭
I'm definitely feeling this instrumental today.
this beat is perfect.
This is easily top 5 beats. Organized noise is rlly slept on
This not ONP. This Mr. DJ
Just heard it with headphones for the first time. I missed how much use of the bongos took place in this song. Such a chill song.
@@rickpaterson5808 I never heard of this, but I will check it out!
Aquemini is a top tier album production wise and rap wise
The theme song of my life...🚶🏾♂️
Yesss
What a mesmerizing beat :)
So smooth beat just glides
lol fr fr@@icalhoun2120
One of the best hip hop beats ever. This and shook ones mobb deep
It's like that now,
Outkast really love space/alien themed music in the 90s lol
Suzy Skrew had a cousin, her name was Sandra Blue
While Skrew didn't have a clue, Blue always knew
The potential she possessed, no limit on what she could do
Graduated Summa Cum at an HBCU
Imagine how excited, delighted
When her college provided
A student column and decided
They'll invite her to write it
So in spite of the violent and somber tone
She wrote about her friends and her struggles back at home
Her first draft focused on Sasha and how she died
So vivid in her description, criticisms turned into cries
She joked about their beef when they dated the same guy
But when Sasha OD'd, Sandra Blue was by her side
Her peers were impressed how she rose from this event
Her following labeled her column the Blueprint
If this was the end, this story would lit
But instead we at the point where the story takes a twist
The police found footage behind the school where Sasha died
Then Blue was arrested for battery and homicide
When Suzy saw the crime, she asked her cousin why
She said that b!tch took my guy, the overdose was an alibi... So surprise.
DAAAAAMMMNNNNNN🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
When I was 13 I realized life ain't really what it seems
Life don't tell a story, you create your own
It's in your hands
Crafting rhymes to produce a sound, can't be bland
I'm a boy turning into a man, I need to understand the ways
Don't play me like a toy cuz in the end I'll get my way
Growing up wasn't easy, I had immigrant parents, one who till this day is still drinking
When I grew a lil older my father's actions had me thinking
Pondering, why he wanted me and my brother, I stay wondering
I'm still wandering in my own head tryna find answers
But shadows consume my thoughts, growing like cancer
Living w my moms was no joke, she had me doing shit the second I woke
Valuable lessons, stuck my morals through a spoke
I matured but did I really, she was teaching me things that weren't relevant to me
But It still pushed me to get to where I am, and even if it wasn't gods plan, I'm still a happy man
When I turned 17 I decided to ditch the xans, I figured life has more to offer than the pills in my hand
I was praying to nobody but in my head I said I can
I was praying in an empty room, I was a lonely man
So I took the tram to a different side of town
And there I found the answers I was looking for, a 5'5 cutie who turned my life around
It's like heaven when Im w her, but to hell I'm bound
It's a full life commitment until I'm in the cold ground
But for now, I'm living my one life, and making my story
No more old sounds
I block out the echoes of my old ways
Nothing hurts me more than what i say
The Sky's stay gray but blow away the clouds, shining sun Peirce my brain
I can think straight and from here till whenever I'll remain the same, unless I change
She's more than worth it so I guess I'll stay
She gone help me find a way to make my great escape
And I'm not talking about death, I'm talking about living in a healthy way
We gone make it work even if we have one more day
greatest beat to come out of the 90s
David Sheats aka Mr. DJ... Legendary producer yet probably the most underrated of all - time
Do you know what sample was used for this joint?!
@@josealicea3765 th-cam.com/video/RdqoR_lreGE/w-d-xo.html
@@josealicea3765 I been trying to figure it out, but I think it's all original
IT IS NOT, THIS SONG IS USING A SAMPLE AND SOMEONE NEEDS TO FIND IT, listen very very very closely to the intro, you will hear vinyl sounds, this song is sampling off of another record.
It’s still unknown what sample this track used. My gut tells me it’s a flip of some type of old funk or r&b record but I have no idea

Nostalgia
This song IZ my Lif£. StiLL bumpin Til I LIVE on.
I love all their albums tbh
One thing I noticed about todays beats is they don’t have the emotion like they did back in the day. The beats are still good but these beats had raw emotion that you could feel.
When you sample, you jack the original music soul. Hip hop today isn't as sample heavy, so the music comes across soulless. I don't think we are capable of recreating the soul of the past, because unfortunately we have become soulless people, just product on the shelve.
God I forgot all about this til recently, beat is hypnotic
Simply fkn ridiculous beat out of this galaxy ❤❤❤❤
brings back some ol feelings. I will be writin to this masterpiece soon.
Namaste.
The god damn stack cymbal ahhhhhhhhh too good
-It was a cold december night, the 8th in fact
-'06 was the year, just turned 16 in fact
-take it back a few months i met this girl named kiara
-paulino, natural chick wit a slight touch of masquara
-never dared her, neither did i conversate first
-she came up to me one day and said she liked my shirt....
dam...nostalgia is a mutha..
J Cole sampled this and made it even better. Never knew this was the original
Where’s the song? I wanna hear how it sounds lol.
@@ラッセル9728 Land Of The Snakes
@@Mopar300Slmao i love Cole but cmon. No he didn't
I cant be the only one that believes this song samples another song, because if you listen very closely to the intro, you can hear vinyl sounds, and nobody was emulating vinyl sounds in their music back then, unlike now because producers were trying to take out the vinyl sounds in the songs they were sampling (the low end theory and biggie's hypnotize for example) or leaving them in there for a more gritty sound, and outkast may have left them in there because nobody would notice it.
RIP Rico Wade 🙏🏾
RIP Rico Wade
The best that started my love of producing. First heard this back in 2012 as a 10yo
Shits smooth asf but has the lead gives it a melancholic undertone
Now Suzy Skrew had a partner named Sasha, Thumper
I remember her number like the summer
When her and Suzy yeah they threw a slumber
Party but you can not call it that cause it was slummer
Well it was more like spend the night
Three in the morning yawning dancing under street lights
We chilling like a villain and a nigga feeling right
In the middle of the ghetto on the curb, but in spite
All of the bullshit we on our back staring at the stars above (aww man)
Talking bout what we gonna be when we grow up
I said what you wanna be, she said, "Alive"
It made me think for a minute, then looked in her eyes
I coulda died, time went on, I got grown
Rhyme got strong, mind got blown, I came back home
To find lil' Sasha was gone
Her mamma said she with a nigga that be treating her wrong
I kept on singing my song and hoping at a show
That I would one day see her standing in the front row
But two weeks later she got found in the back of a school
With a needle in her arm, baby two months due, Sasha Thumper
Somebody hit me the other day, for a rendezvous
Was it the bitch that fucked the Goodie, and the Dungeon Crew
Let's say her name was Suzy Skrew, cause she screwed a lot
Making a nigga hit that chonk, at legitimate spots
Not no parks, backseats or things of that nature
Had to hate ya player, I'm dicking the ho down never said I paid her
Straight laid her, slayed the bitch like Darth Vader, made her
From College Park and Fayette, all the way down to Decatur
Like Jada, her wig was sharp and sporty, that was shorty
Safe as a snake on eggs in a Beamer 840
It's foggy, I went to the crib to call her but she lost me
My baby mamma beeped seven o'clock it's gonna cost me
But I still wanna cut her though, maybe she had to work
I caught her in the mall, wearing a real tight skirt
She was, fine as fuck, I wanted to sex the ho up
She said, "Let's hit the parking lot so I can sick your duck"
I said, "Cool, I really wanted to cut you but this'll do
I gotta pick up my daughter plus my baby mamma beeped me too"
She said she understood then everything was kosher
I gave her a Lil' Will CD, and a fuckin poster, it's like that now
It's like that now, you better go on and get, the hump, up out your back now
It's about four, or five, cats off in my 'Llac now
We just, shoot, game in the form of story rap now
It's like that now, it's like that now
This song makes me think of the best day of my life like I don’t how to explain it but this song is amazing it makes me want to cry but I also feel alive when I hear this song I hope the best day of my life is soon to come so I can play this song but until then I’m out like a light.PS Alex Odom if I don’t live to see that day then live it for me ok.💕
This is it... I hope u feel what I do when I put this on...I needed this
Still love this beat in 2019
Music From Planet Earth
Bro everybody looks over the fact that Earthtone (OutKast and Mr. DJ) produced most of this album and not ONP. So I'll just list the songs ONP did, which is only 4 songs.

Era muy escéptica con eso del amor/
Solo ver su cicatriz, sorprendido me dejo/
"Quieres mucho el dinero?" Muy seria me pregunto/

Yo Once Again im space agin' cookin' beats to a Cajun
It's so amazing as im grazin' temples through indo
feel the smoke flow below make ya third eye glow
Put ya thoughts in slow mo up for highs and low
Since embryo knew I had a broken cortical
Cus my soul didn't want to go and sow
To the seeds of a scorned earth since my birth
I knew I wouldn't like this place empty face
Caught up in hells race with no pace only paced
By the heartbeats of the broken hearts
Who weak and can't speak but constantly weap
Through society leaps and bounds
Though I'm crowned a fool of pride
But real feelings hide and collide
With the fakers used be entertained
By The rumpshakers now I'm after the time takers
Til I'm thrown with dirt by the undertakers
I'll be Jim Brown won't see me running around
As make my way on stolen ground pound
By the pain that's worn as a gown
But too many thoughts exposed with no clothes
See how the wind blows cardinal but naw it's just my past ancestors of the celestials huh
Mr DJ/Outkast aka EarthTone III made this but this was mainly Mr. DJ tho.
