Are you afraid of this aspect of the ceremony? And if you watched the video, do you feel a little bit more at ease thinking about it? 👇

Wow!! Never thought vomiting in Ayavaska is such a positive thing. That’s incredible and makes the ceremony so much easier to handle :) you explained it so well!

I wondered this, especially since I had fasted 20 days before participating in the ceremony but still committed a lot.

fascinating!! I also had the aha moment not too long ago that emotions can present as physical symptoms in the body. I’ve noticed a trend that following stressful moments in my life I will experience seemingly random waves of nausea and terrible shoulder pain. Fortunately I realized the connection that this was my body signaling that it needed to release trapped emotions, and I discovered that giving myself the space to cry alleviated the nausea and physical pain. A lot of seeming random childhood memories would be remembered during these sessions too.
Crying is certainly my preferred form of release and I am lucky to be tuned in enough to understand the body this way and be able to self heal without plant medicines. But I am sure Aya targets deeper healing, and would probably expedite the process and make me vomit anyway lol. I’ve never felt called to the medicine, probably because I am already extremely sensitive or maybe there’s no need for me to turn to it at this time, but I have always been curious about the experience. I appreciate you shedding light on the topic! 🌿

Thanks! And yes, you got it. Glad you are allowing it within your body and emotions.

I stayed awake all the first night with the medicine. I did not lie down, but instead sat up by the fire because I feared lying down would cause me to feel more nauseous. When I finally did purge near dawn, it was maybe 2 heaves and 2 ounces of mostly clear liquid. No strong odor. I think a big part of the fear is the way the whole body shakes during an illness like the flu. But that was not the case. You might not have that whole weakened body sensation when you purge. It might be something brief. I realized the scary thing for me was the sense of lack of control.
Most of my purging was out the other end. And there was an extraordinary feeling of panic and rage when I felt like that might occur simultaneously with vomiting. I felt completely helplessness. But a huge epiphany came to me an hour after taking the medicine and sitting on the pot: As an infant, I had felt abandoned and was helpless, I re-experienced that time, those emotions within my body as a red-hot rage. I wanted to be out of my body. Almost as soon as I realized what was happening energetically - the rage, fear, and purging all ceased. That has remained one lasting healing from that ceremony.

Thanks for sharing! Definitely a common part of the experience to resist is the purging. Hopefully next time there will be more trust in letting it happen 🤞

Very smart comment. There is something called “watching the video” before PUKING a random comment.
