Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz didn’t start out as an AWPer.
By all accounts, he doesn’t even wield CS:GO's famous big green with the aggression one might expect from a superstar. And yet, dev1ce is one of, if not its greatest manipulators.
So, what about dev1ce’s playstyle makes him so different from every other AWPer in CS:GO?
Is there a case to be made on accolades alone that he’s actually the greatest of all-time?
And now that we haven’t seen him play in a year, what can we expect from the Danish legend next?

a lot of people don’t appreciate dev1ce’s skill due to him not being a highlight maker, but if you really watch when dev1ce plays with the awp, he’s the epitome of that role and yes he may not be the flashiest player to wield that awp but he will give you results and fill that role perfectly and most importantly the consistency, its easy to execute a strat when you’re confident that one of your players is consistent because you don’t have to worry about something from the strat going wrong, and it’s easy to run default on ct side when you know the rotator or the site player is reliable to hold angles. A lot of people says that dev1ce is a boring player to watch and yet he’s one of the csgo players that has a lot of titles under his name (4 of them being a major) and a lot of MVP titles as of today.

That can't be measured by any stat/metric! Dude is so Calm,Cool,Collected, & Humble all while destroying the best players in the world! & Obviously we want to see him play right now! S1mple fans overrate him like crazy, he's amazing and a top 10 all time player for sure, but nowhere near being the overall goat of cs or even the best awper cs has seen, hell, he's barely a top 5 awper in the current scene.

For better or worse, this is what Astralis left as a legacy: newer teams joining the top rosters have been rapidly developing these cerebral, team efforts and set pieces ever since Astralis started winning with them.
Dev1ce is great, but the success of his team due to his relatively 'boring', set-piece strat play style single-handedly ushered in an era of clones and copies of Astralis. It's raised the ceiling, but it's doomed superstars because the boring set pieces have become too powerful for even the biggest stars to reliably handle.

Flashy awpers will never be as consistent as dev1ce. Consistency is what wins you BIG tournaments most of the time, not being flashy and going for that 1 in 10 F1 Flick.

Every awper has at least 2 superstitum videos, while devve has none. Yet some lf these awpers don't have a single major trophy while he has 4. Sometimes what the team needs isn't a highlight making showoff, sometimes it needs a dependable normal guy.
