Everyone awps like S1mple in MM because it's all about aggressiveness and individual frags, only difference is S1mple is a pro. Device's playstyle is actually much harder for people to learn because it requires teamwork and playing according to team strategy, rather than for personal glory n frags or a desire to impress everyone.

@@r_se actually most pros have an average reaction time of 180ms. That's also the average of higher level cs players (lem->lvl10). So that doesn't matter.
@@EDIIIZ reaction time isn't the only talent s1mple has. he's very gifted with aim and other things too. if you would make a list of gameplay abilities that can be heavily influenced by talent and you would add all of those skills up s1mple would almost certainly land in the top 0.01% of players, maybe much higher even.

It's very easy to point out Dev1ce's efficient way of playing but you have to remember he has a system in his team to play into. S1mple doesn't have that and has to use pure skill to hard carry. You are right tho, the plebs in MM should play more like dev1ce.......with ANY weapon. Doesn't have to be awp only. The odd aggressive play can be beneficial when enemy arent expecting it but doing it every round becomes predictable.

exactly, he gets away with risky moves and cocky picks cuz he simply can deliver in those moments, truly a very very rare skill in cs, you only have a handful of players capable of this in a decade
so i think it depends on the situation, when you still have allies alive, dev1ce's AWPing style is effective BUT if you got a bigger balls and the situation come as 1 v X and you have to clutch it, you gotta do s1mple's AWPing style.

Loved the analysis on this one.
S1mple just sometimes does things that make you go like what the bloody hell. Something you'd never expect.
But the thing with device is that not only is he a very consistent talented awper. He tries to stay alive for the longest time which puts pressure on the other team because they have to worry about where the awp is. Also saves the awp many times putting economical pressure on the other team not letting them get too comfortable. They can never be sure where the awp is if he saves it hence making them play more passive and with the utility usage of a team like astralis, forcing them to make mistakes and punishing them for it. That's what I love about device.

Thing is that device's mainly awper, while s1mple is also rifler and crazy good at pistols or any other type of play tbh. S1mple is not just considered the "best awper" in the world right now, he's considered the best player overall and I think that the knowledge and skill from other type of plays that don't involve the AWP, help him think, act and use the awp in a different, more creative and even effective way, considering he already awps like device when necessary.

He does, and it's even pointed in the video. He plays sometimes passively like device and sometimes unpredictabely in a very aggressive and spontaneous way that can catch you off guard.

Honestly, if you ask me I wouldn't even bother to replicate the things dev1ce and s1mple do as it is their own personal style. I would take the best traits of both worlds and develop my own gameplay. Of course we can learn from the best in this game but at the end of the day we can't clone their plays we can only use that information and use our own traits to become better. In my opinion it is great to keep both styles and when in-game to read what the situation and decide what to do. Also some of these plays are well calculated and maybe have a higher purpose. s1mple for example may want to break their team spirit by being this aggresive or wants in this way to maybe tilt dev1ce (remember this is tier 1 gameplay) by doing these risky things. We can learn a lot of things from both awpers. But we need tons of experience to see the difference and know when to use each one. Thanks for analyzing these gameplays. Love your vids.

For me, repeeking always depends. Like if I'm playing long A on inferno and I get a pick, it's easy to go back to arches, even if you get shot from the guy meant to trade you. But if I'm playing short B on Mirage and I get hit by the guy trying to trade, I know for sure I'm not going to make it around arches and try my best, around 60% of the time I get the frag :)

Great video. Long term Dev1ce's style is better, he is probably capable of doing same crazy plays simple sometimes does, he is just more calm and calculated. Like if he thinks that safer angle is going to work more often in that spot, he will always choose it.
no not really. it's the other way around. S1mple can do device's passive style. But dev1ce doesn't have the same amount of raw talent/prodigy like s1mple. It is what it is. The reason that s1mple does this because everyone knows that he's the real deal. And i meant no harm to device i like him as a player too. But lets be honest, I'm a zywoo fan but superior raw/mechanical skill is s1mple. don't pull off the argument that device can do flashy plays like s1mple does because whatever dev1ce can do s1mple can even do and even amplify it to greater extent. Arguably the best raw talent to have ever walked in on CS:GO. Still CS is a team play. So my argument is invalid. But stats says it all.. Especially this year.

Guardian is like the mix of both s1mple and Dev1ce. Very disciplined and also takes risk sometimes.
I'm an awper I'm MGE (like an actual awper not just someone who force buys the big green gun once they have more than $4750. But some of the things simple does aren't impossible to recreate (most notably the 2k in Con).
Main points of the video:

*+he also delays enemy push as much as possible to get his teammates to backup

Game sense, positioning and aiming are things we should consider at the same time. Something is right for Simple but not right for us, that is it.BTW, some people said simple is not the best awper, I totally agree that. I just never see who is better.
I found this interesting because I play more of the s1mple wild card style to catch people off guard. It requires confidence and skill. My older brother plays more like device. Patient and methodical. Both work but sometimes I do things that he can’t comprehend. Sometimes it pays off sometimes i whiff. But either way I have fun with Cs cause at the end of the day it will always be a game.
So overall... s1mple plays mostly alone and risky where if it works it pays off big time and device plays for team.

I have the simple style and I can carry games, but I also lose a lot of games as well. I guess something I could do is use the simple play style when it’s working and switch to device play style when it’s not

Well, the premise of the video remains, Simple is the best to ever touch the game, I would guess that is not the case for everyone else. So regardless of what Simple does you should still play like device. The point is Simple's playstyle only works consistently FOR HIM because of his raw skill but for the rest of us mortals device's style is much more consistent for pugs and even team environments. Hence why he and Astralis have now won 4 majors and the last 3 in a row and might be primed for a 4th. It's much more structured than chaotic like simple's and it has been proven that structure wins more games than chaos does, hence why Simple hasn't won a major and may never win one. It's also far easier to replicate that style over time.

Huh well I've been playing for 9 weeks now and well because around the 3 week I was trash with the asp however I practised I spend an hour a day on death match and around 30 mins on aim trainer workshop map and I did a similar play on a site as simple did so I don't know what I should persue considering I am gold nova 1 and I'm working on my face it rank but nowadays whenever I get the awp I am more comfortable playing very aggressive then passive if anyone has any more questions I'll sender them

As for having lvl 5 against you, when I was lvl 5 I have never had a level 3 against me that was playing on a new account, it always was a level 3 that plays like level 3.

its all about comfortability, if you're comfortable with a certain style of playing, play like that because that is what makes you consistent. If you force plays or you play in an uncomfortable of unfamiliar way, you just won't play to your highest ability.
