Hello from Paris (where you don't need ANY type of driver's license to drive a 50cc) - thanks for the video. After needing MORE work done on my 15-year-old 50cc, I am thinking of buying a new one and it was great to see this in action.
ya here in Virginia 50cc no lic no insurance no state inspection you do have to have tags , i have a 2013 50s and a gts 300 i ride the 50 more it seems love them both
Here in Slovenia we get driver licence for 50cc, with driver licence for car. If u want to ride more then 50cc then u have to get driver licence for bikes.
Any tuning possibilities on the horizon for this new Iget engine? big bore kit, cams, new software etc? Glad I still own my aprilia sr50 factory tho. I hope some day those two strokers will come back.
In Michigan the age is 14 for a 50cc and all you need is to take a 15 question test to get your moped licence. No insurance or motorcycle license necessary if you have an actual car drivers license. All you need is a moped sticker which is good for a few years.
Question: Since it is a 50cc is there a weight limit? If so that would make it go slower right?😅 AND will it at least reach 45mph? Or is it restricted?
Has the HP changed with the newer Sprint 50S and the Primavera? Last summer I test rode a ...I think 2017 Liberty and then a Sprint 50 and the Sprint was noticeably faster. Not a speed demon, but still faster than the Liberty 50.
I just bought the 2020 49cc sprint. It's sluggish AF. Takes a long time to get to 30 and takes way longer to accelerate beyond that. My 2016 49cc prima Vera was obviously not crazy fast but it got to 42-45 mph at a reasonable rate. My 2020 sprint maxes out at 36! Something has got to be wrong here...
4 grand? For a 50?! Just as well the British scooter boy thing happened in the 70s/80s, because it sure as hell wouldn’t be starting in this day n age. Not at those prices!
Vespas are the Harley Davidson of scooters, it doesn't matter how much they cost as long as the customer can buy a matching jacket with a cute logo on it.
@@VespaPortland nope. Every other Vespa I've ever tried before the 2020 model was able to do this, but you aren't passing 35 miles per hour on this new model unless you're going downhill. What the hell did Vespa do? I recently traded my 2016 for a 2020. On all the models I've tried before 2020, I was able to hit about 41 or 42 on a straight away in a reasonable time for a 50CC Vespa. However on this new model, getting up to 35 takes ages. Is this a design flaw or something? I don't care what you say, the new model is definitely slower than the previous ones and it's not cool.
@@VespaPortland I definitely don't want to come off as rude, but if you know of any way to increase speed via modification, please let me know because 35 isn't cutting it. I need to be able to do 40 because it makes a difference where I'm from
Gateway Realtor You don’t want to be rude but you “don’t care what we say.” Odd. There’s a break-in period with any scooter. The broken in 2020s will reach 40 as well, just not quickly out of the crate. If you’re looking for a faster 50, maybe get your endorsement and step up to a 150 instead. That’ll get you to ~68 mph.
@@VespaPortland you're right. That was unwarranted, so I'm sorry about that. My previous vespa was vandalized and totalled and my insurance hooked me up with the new 2020 model but it just feels so much more sluggish. I also tried to keep in mind that it's brand new and likely needs to break in but there are just some roads here that I'm used to taking with my 50cc but with max speed of 35 I simply can't. Like 40 miles per hour would be fine actually because that's the speed limit. I haven't gone for a 150cc simply because of Licensing in Massachusetts. Anyway thanks for responding. I'll keep the breaking in detail more in mind

Glad it was helpful! Thanks for tuning in.

Was under the impression you do need a license to ride 50cc in Virginia.
Thanks guys! That was fun.

Same here in canada
what scooter can you drive with 14 years old in slovenia?
Same here in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Same in Sweden, I own a 50cc to commute and make errands.

So difficult to ride a 50cc in California, while in Italy we could ride them with no license at aged 14!
14 without a license is crazyness xD awesome tho
lol less freedom in America
Sucks to be you. I live in the states as well and where I live we can ride these at 14.

In Croatia you have to be 15 to get licence. Or you can be 18 and just get it along you car licence
Can't believe it took this long to have a fuel injected primavera. Or any 50cc vespa. I had a Piaggio NRG Purejet 50cc in 2005. It was fuel injected..
The Libertys have been super reliable for my shop, glad to see the fuel injection going onto other Piaggio 50's.
Great review! Sounds like those Portland folks are having a lot of fun there. I like it.
Come say hello if you’re ever in town.
You bet!
"Let people know they wronged you". HA!!
Loud and proud!
Hello from Canada .Good job making this video!
Thank god the two stroke engines are a thing of the stone age.
My 50cc clocked 48mph on a flat road.
Question: Since it is a 50cc is there a weight limit? If so that would make it go slower right?😅
AND will it at least reach 45mph? Or is it restricted?
they go 35 tops
"Urban Weapon"... yes!

The emission control regulations of EPA forced the manufacturers to curtail the exhaustion rate.
sprint and primavera should start at 150cc and 300cc. gts start at 300cc and 600cc. :D
That would not work in europe where 90% of the buyers are 16 year olds or people with a car license only
what the heck i don't like how they changed the turn signal lights that's annoying and seems expensive to replace
It has to do with special laws in the USA where they have to have them like that. Almost anywhere else in the world they are still unchanged.
Now go against a 2t 50 :)

What's the big deal about getting a driver's license. 150 is about as small as you want to go in my opinion. My 150 excelerates up to 60 + easy
in lots of places a 50cc scooter is the only real motorized transport that you can get while underaged
What kind of gas do you put in vespas?
Zesty Meatballs do you know which octane ? They have a few different kind of premiums where I live 89,91 and 93 I will prob put in 93 to be safe
@@marcs8991 Premium fuel is 93 octane or higher in US.
Is it just me or is that the street from shameless ?

Max speed without modifications??
Expect 35mph, maybe 40 if you have enough of a straightaway full throttle.
