I think that Matco should have been incorporated the blue color as well as the red color in all of their tools because it’s the colors of their sign. Red white and blue. Great video Clay!!!!
I'm a fan of hi-viz. I'd like to see bright neon or florescent yellow or orange.
I call those colors "don't run me over yellow"
Honestly, that’s what made me look at snap on screwdrivers, the hi viz. can’t get em new it seems so I got the matco fluorescent green. All the Ernst organizers I have are hi viz.
Hard to lose under a vehicle 🚗. Hi viz is mint.
@@mikemuzzell5167 tell that to the hi visibility yellow snap on screwdriver that came with one of our cars. It was still stuck between the ac condenser and the radiator. Not stuck, just sitting there completely visible. And easy to reach.
Big fan of High-Viz but it gets dirty really fast and is an absolute pain to clean. Yes I clean my tools.

I love Matco and Matco Mike. Been a Matco fan boy since 1988 and counting.
I like my tools to be colored just for the sake of getting different colors than the other techs. Helps to know if its mine with ease. also why i try to have all my tools the same color easier to keep up with.
I've had my matco 88 3/8s locking flex for over 7 years and i just had to have the head warranty because the teeth for the locking mechanism were slipping. This is my go to ratchet for almost every situation

I have red and brown tool box. My brown tool box are Kennedy, I am machinist. They do not offer different colors, in my field. I do enjoy watching your video. Because of you I did buy Matco Tools, looking for buy more. I do have have some Snap On tools, I really like them. So I am going to more Matco Tool. I do enjoy using the pro tools made buy Mac , Matco , Snap On. Keep up the good work

I'm from Alabama, where a dusting of snow shuts everything down. I lived in New York for 4 years, where you'd get 3 feet and still have to go to work
That's how it was growing up in Louisiana. The entire state would shut down for a dusting. Been in Minnesota for 26 years now and they don't shut down for anything! My kids don't get snow days. They're jealous that I grew up getting them. 🤣

As a northerner ill tell you salt for your drive is great, if you cab get softener salt from the hardware store that will work just as well. Don't want anyone to slip on their drive you can get hurt doing so.
Snap on has blue handle pry bars. I have a set haven’t opened them cause it was an impulse buy and I loved the color.
I’ve been doing some research and what I was told was the matco ratchet is the best so I went ahead and ordered the blue soft grip from my dealer I can’t wait to see it
Clay, where I live in Canada I finally found out that we do have 1 Matco dealer. So I called him last week about getting a Blue ratchet and he refuses to sell to me because He told me because I am not a business or the fact that I do not work for a huge company he will not sell to me. I told him it will be a cash sale and I would meet him anywhere in the city I live in but he says nope. So I told him he must have enough money to turn away a couple hundred dollar sale.
this wether sucks I ordered a slide top tool cart from my snap on dealer over a month ago and I still haven't seen it its driving me crazy I need that tool cart. keep the videos coming clay love watching you guys.

great video!! thank you.. soooo i agree with you bro, my matco ratchets are the best..My locking head 3/8 ratchet is my fav, along with my short 3/8 flex head matco. i do have snap on ratchets, and the one i used to use alot was my bent handled flex head 3/8 drive ratchet. when you go to break a stubborn bolt loose with the snappy ratchet beware that when that bolt finally lets loose, for some strange reason, the snap on ratchet reverses to the tighten position or to a neutral position ,and then you have to reset the lever back to the loosen position to continue loosening that fastener... i hear snappys finally curing this issue after all these years.... cheers guys

I love the matco ratchets,feels good but It's the most broken ratchet in the shop.the snapon feels different but havnt broke any. Have 4 different combos for 4 years now,still strong. That blue though sure does look good
In Ohio we deal with it every year. We have the equipment and the infrastructure to handle it. We grew up with it . Keep safe

Love my snap on ratchets but have three old match 2 3/8 and 1 1/4 still use them it’s all about preference if the tool is good and is reliable I’ll buy it and use it 😎👍

Stop the maroon colors and put Hi Viz in replace of that color. Matco will sell out because vibrant colors are the way to go!

A blue handled pry bar would be the perfect addition to my tool box. I have one 33" green bar and it's definitely my favorite. Sure could use smaller sizes in blue *hint hint MATCO*
I made a purchase on the Matco truck last week. So I purchased one of the 1/4” hyper step drill bits and I noticed something odd in my receipt.

Oh there have been times up here in North Dakota when health care workers went to work with tracked side by sides and snowmobiles. Four years ago we had a very tough winter with multiple blizzards. I know a couple doctors who went to work and back with chains on all four corners of their 3/4 ton diesel pickups. That particular storm the plows in town here literally quit. If you were driving in town you were literally on your own.
I like the blue that looks cool! I know for me i have been using green on my handles and so on and i love it. I didn't want red I'm sick of red that is for me.
Here in the deeper part of the “Heart of Dixie” it’s a sunny, cloudless day. But, up till late morning it was preferable to enjoy the day from the inside of a window. I lack a garage or a shop at my house to really do what I want on days like this before I go to work in the afternoon. I’m all for the Crimson on my side of y’all’s border.

Problem with soft grip tools is ATF ruins them. I am an older mechanic and love the hard grip for two reasons. One chemical resistance, two easy to clean so you don’t track grease oils inside of vehicle when you do interior jobs.
Tub ‘O Towels man..... I know you said you are an older mechanic and if you try them you will see the game has changed but they keep you me tools going. Just wipe them down and don’t worry about it.

But here’s a funny story, being from Illinois I’m used to this type of mess, but when I was going to college in Arkansas (Fayetteville) I remember getting an email saying the campus was closing at 4pm because IT MIGHT SNOW. ...... IT MIGHT SNOW.
But I will say that lots of states like there, don’t have the infrastructure to deal with thst, or have the road salt to deal with it.
Also if you go south starting in Kentucky or so, EVERY BRIDGE has a sign saying “bridges will ice before roads” or something like that.
Go further north you don’t see those signs because “yeah...... no shit, we deal with it ever winter”.
But driving to Florida twice a year, and Fayetteville for grad school it’s something I picked up on

I install smart drive brand camera systems on most of all of our truck and crane combos One on each fender one in the cab facing out and then a back up camera or even on the boom rest of the drywall crane. With the hydraulic fork attached. So I am always drilling and tapping making my own holes using stainless steel Bowman clamps for all the fiber optic wires and holding stuff in the cab in the dash. Also Macko has the best bendable rubber wire chasers for running wires I will send u the part #

Here,they plow certain roads first and the rest last.The Muskegon County Road Commission is too cheap wanting to save money on salt.Found out why GM,Ford and Chrysler use the chrome cap lug nuts.It is for cost reasons,GM pays 25 cents a piece for them.Found this out from one of my dad's customer's,he is retired from working at a GM plant in Lansing,MI

They do that north of the twin cities in Minnesota too. I spent time in Walker MN a few years back, ice fishing and that was the only way to get around.

I live in north MS in Desoto County and I am so happy this mess is melting because no one can drive around up here in it.
We're use to the snow and sub-zero cold up here in Minnesota. Ain't nothing to us. That said, ice storms suck no matter where you are. When it ices up here, our salt trucks have a hard time getting the ice melted. Plus, you guys don't have your water lines buried 6ft or more below the frost line and you don't have hundreds of plow/salt trucks hitting the roads right when the snow begins to fly.
I also haven't wore a coat this year yet. We just left behind a sub-zero snap that lasted 2 weeks. Highs were single digit sub-zero, and lows were 20s below. I wear a t-shirt, sweater, hoodie, and hat when it's that cold. No need for a coat or gloves. 😉🤣

Clay, I live in the north, in a little small town that you probably never heard of. The state and township don't plow out here. Its up to us to do it yourself, and we still have to drive over it.
My heart goes out to Texas I have been their love it. While the snow has fallen in Mississippi meanwhile here in N.C we are building the ARK. 🚢

I live in Northern Tennessee right on the Kentucky line. To get to work I have to drive about 12 miles through back roads to get to the interstate. I drive an 03 Dodge dakota. Manual. Little bitty 2 wheel drive that needs new back tires. Friday was my first day back at work and some of the roads here are still ice rinks. There is one area where I have to go down a hill, over a bridge, and then back up another hill. Needless to say, I lost traction going down the hill, had to ditch the truck into a ditch right off the road to keep from going into the stream, and then wait. I called some other people and they were on their way but it would've taken them forever. And they also might've gotten stuck. Then by a miracle a 4 wheel drive Diesel (with tire chains!) Came down the hill. Robertson County water company checking to see if there was a broken water main. They ended up not only pulling me out but also giving me a tow with a strap up the icy hill and then over 2 miles to the next road that was clear.
Wow that sucks but good thing they helped you out

Matco maroon is a standard for me.
My snap on guy replaces the complete screwdriver if I damage the handle or the tip. Sad to hear others don't. But my matco franchisee is also great to me. I do spend a considerable amount of money consistently on both trucks.
Us up north are used to driving in snow and ice, I'll do 60 in a raging blizzard in a car without flinching, you just gotta learn to steer with your rear wheels.
Chrysler has always been the worst with those swollen lug nuts and its corrosion under the cap
Up here in NY they clear the roads pretty good, but all the plowing leaves moon crater size pot holes all over the place.
Kinda surprised the municipalities in your area aren’t sub contracting snow removal to construction companies with road graters and pay loaders

I know I'm a mechanic in Austin Texas and we were shut down for four days in the shop didn't have power to the shop and most of us mechanics didn't have power or water at our houses

We went back to work on Friday but that means we have to work Sunday cuz we're normally closed on Sunday
I'm in Dallas Texas in 2011 it was way worse dont know why people keep saying we never had that much snow 2011 was worse.
BTW My dad used to go through blizzards and northeasterners and pick up his hospital nurses with the National Guard in HMVES at the time. We are a family of medical professionals and emergency managers. So seeing them collapse under these few inches. Is not surprising. I've been there trying to get your states to prepare. I've been there for these climate change discussions with organizations and districts all over the south and Midwest.
This will be more often over the next few decades.

Ordered my 1/4" blue handle on January 30th showed them in stock.. on the 1st of February Matco contatcted me and said they were back ordered. Still waiting...
We always get solid ice here in arkansas...it actually got cold enough that we got some real snow for once! Still shut us down....ive never seen 9" of good powder since I've lived here ...was colder than Alaska and Canada!
Our average temp is 50 this time of year...we got below 0 without the windchill
I’m in Benton Arkansas. As I was clearing 19” of snow from my driveway my mail man comes putting up the road in his jeep, hands me mail out the window and exclaims to me the roads are shit. I asked him what the hell he was doing delivering mail in the crap. Go home, don’t know one need their mail that bad. Like y’all we don’t have plows either.

Yeah it's crazy the weather you guys have been getting, it's funny to us but we know your not really set up for it. Mini split heat pumps should be something everyone should have down there so people have a good heat source for when it's gets really bad like this, especially in Texas.
I'll just have to continue looking at the snow banks in front of the house 6 feet high until April😄

It’s a normal thing in Idaho for people to take side by slides, fore wheelers, or snowmobiles to the grocery store during winter.
I work in Ohio You should see some of our semi trucks with a 24 foot open beds on them they have 12 to 14 inches of snow all the way across
