One more is roasted paprika's with garlic in oil, known as белолучене паприке. You can find something that is not really a salad, but we call that one a salad, and that is Urnebes salad, literally means hilarious salad, it is made from old white cheese that is mashed with some garlic, ajvar and grinded aleva paprika, it is more like some kind of cream cheese with spicy and hot taste, but good for meat and bread spread. We also love to put on the roast and meat a grinded Ren (Armoracia rusticana) or horseradish, it is also very spicy. Nice movie Lisa. Greetings from Italy, near Florence. It's the first time I've watched your vlog and your videos seem short, interesting, and sociable. They show us the far Russian Far East, so geographically far from Europe, but all in all with images, habits and nutrition very similar to us. To say that today is a difficult moment is obvious, but I would add that precisely for this reason we must keep channels of communication open, insist on contacts and cheer for like Lisa, she does not resign herself to the greyness and lives her youth in smile and hope.
These "innocent women and children", like their men, consciously chose the path of betrayal, the path of Nazism and fierce Russophobia! Now they are paying for their corrupt apostasy from their Russian blood, from our common ancestors, from history and the Orthodox faith for the sake of Western handouts. Until they repent for their sin of betrayal, until they atone for the blood, they have no right to hope for forgiveness! Residents of Ukraine get exactly what they deserve!

In Texas we call that a Cafeteria. Most schools have a cafeteria but with possibly only a single option for each part of the meal. Growing up my family went to a cafeteria restaurant called Luby's and it had a very similar layout. I live in the suburbs of Houston...The Woodlands. We used to eat at Luby's when my kids were little. They went out of business a few years ago, sadly. The food was good !
It is quite possible that the "homeland" of Russian canteens is from the USA. The fact is that this format of catering was originally common in factories. In the 30s of the last century, americans built hundreds or even thousands of factories in the USSR. Only the firm of the famous industrial architect Albert Kahn from the USA designed 521 objects for the USSR in 1929-1932. The Stalingrad, Chelyabinsk and Kharkov tractor plants and aircraft factories in Kramatorsk and Tomsk were built according to american drawings and with american equipment. So most likely, our "stolovaya" and your "cafeteria" are cousins.
