    • @janroach1852

Well, I certainly would not buy the cakes, lol. I would bake my own for those prices. Plus they did not look fresh or tasty. The cheese seems way overpriced. Cheese is usually six to thirteen dollars a pound depending on type. Brie is too fatty so I don't really know our prices offhand. Parmesan is about thirteen or fourteen dollars a pound, feta five dollars a half pound, swiss about eight a pound; same for Cheddar. Swiss and Cheddar often go on sale. And our salaries are a lot higher but housing is extremely expensive in my area.

I think a good comparison is how long an unskilled worker has to work for a certain product in the respective countries.
In Russia, it's roughly one hour's work for a bar of chocolate for an unskilled low-wage worker.
In Germany, it takes 8 minutes to make one bar of chocolate.
The same applies to other products such as strawberries, butter and others

Not only that. Dollar is equal as euro as it grew in price. That means that importing things from US is more expensive for Russia. So growth of dollar grew while ruble worth declines, making things more expensive.

*You have to bear in mind that the AVERAGE PENSION in Russia in 2024 is only € 240 = 258 US $ -- and the average SALARY is 670 € = 720 US $.*
General inflation in Russia rose very significantly to around 9% in the second half of 2024.
*The central bank has therefore raised the key interest rate to an incredible 21%!*
This in turn is a disaster for investments, which are falling sharply. The decline in newly started construction projects is over 50%!

A branded loaf of white bread at £1.80; in Scotland a basic litre bottle of vodka is £25.00; four 500ml of lager is £6.50? Ain't nothing cheap anymore here, especially as you pay tax and Levys on everything you buy..

Why did this kind of thing need to be explained to you? why did you not already grasp that pensions and average wages in the UK is 6 to 7 times higher than Russia? Go on, tell me why something this basic needed explaining cos it genuinely blows my flipping mind.
Don't pretend to know facts and figures go and find them actually out, British prices are not higher than Russian, when you do the exchange rates and calculate average wage difference British food and other goods is astronomically cheaper. Don't guess stuff to suit your bias angry opinion, go and actually fact check and do the maths.

In the West we have been living under horrible sanctions for the better part of the last 40 years! And it's largely self-imposed by the average citizen, who is typically an ill-informed DUMMY🤪🤤🤤🤤 who is easily manipulated by those doing the sanctioning to them! Namely, the very rich along with large multinational WHOREpoRATions who donate $1 to a political party 🥳🎉 (A criminal gang of two-faced liars who've aced master-classes in acting🐂🤗💩😎) & in return get a MINIMUM of $1000 in WHOREpoRATe Welfare SCAM payouts, tax relief on what miniscule tax they have to pay despite their criminal accounting games of offshore tax haven headquarter relocations & using every loophole in tax law that their lobbyists in the halls of EVERY level of government have asked for. We're told BALD-FACED LIES about how this tax relief for the wealthy spurs our decaying economies by promoting business activities & investments. If by that you understand them to be talking in their code about unbridled residential real-estate speculation & forming ever-larger monopolies to further limit consumer choice & allow for rampant price gouging, then, YES.🤑👹🤥🤣🤣🤣😂
Then these same MAFIA GANGSTERS who start wars with other MAFIA GANGSTERS in turf wars fueled by their satanic greed & lust for TOTAL POWER, & expect the very people that they SCREW 🪛 every day as much as is (in)humanly possible to go & do the fighting, & especially the dying, FOR THEM!👹😙💰💰💰🤗😎
I am, OF COURSE, referring to Income Inequality & the way the Elites have doubled down on making it worse, instead of letting up a bit in the face of growing civilian anger.
And THE DUMMIES & 🐑🐑🐑le eat up the 🐂💩 hatred & lies they feed us to keep us distracted & stupid, and they believe it!🤪🤡🤪🤡🤪🤡🤤🤤🤤🤦

If food prices rise sharply, how can there be room to sell Christmas stuff? There must be things in Russia that are cheaper than they are in Sweden. In Sweden, 1 kg of butter costs 9 dollars, and 1 liter of vodka costs 40 dollars. I fill my car with butter and drive to the Finnish-Russian border. I throw packets of butter over the border. On the other side of the border, a Russian stands and throws things that are expensive in my country. It cannot be counted as illegal Export and Import, when the butter package left my hand it was still in Finland.

Now it's one thing to do that with a fast food burger shop and an entirely different situation when it comes to a massive retail shop network. Whoever did end up buying up stores, t would end up not being the same kind of experience as it is now, the quality of the store would very likely fall. I can’t get the big picture because I don’t know how much people make, I don’t know where they live (but you have told us!) Some things feel contradictory, a beautiful girl I follow she talks about how expensive things are, but now she will travel to Bali for two weeks. Most people where I live can’t make such a trip because of the high price of rent, food and other necessities. So I get more confused the more vids I look at. The average Russian income is a fraction of western incomes, so comparing Russian prices directly with western prices doesn't accurately reflect purchasing power. Russians in major cities don't have it so bad, but once you get out things can go downhill very quickly.

Hi Natasha, Nice to see you again, you are so pretty. And of course your voice is so very feminine. The prices you are showing are fairly close to the same as I see here in Michigan, U.S.A. We have discount stores who usually use the word Dollar or the symbol $1 in their name. E.g. Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, Everything for $1.00, and even 99¢ Store. They used to sell almost everything they had for $1 or less. But now they charge more. Since the Brandon administration took over the Presidency in Jan 2021 we have been experiencing some very huge inflation and that has put pressure on all the stores to raise prices and the discount stores are not spared.
Currently we are in the midst of an election and if the woman gets back in *(she was already in for the last 3-1/2yrs as VP) she will raise taxes and the the prices will have to follow, so most people will want to see discount store prices as you asked. For me: Please do another KGB meme. That was very entertaining albeit a bit risky for you, but don't put yourself into jeopardy just for entertainment. OK? Fine Business young lady, Thank you! ben/ michigan

it makes no sense to show prices in dollars. The purchasing power of countries that pay in dollars is completely different from the purchasing power of Russians.
Looks like food is cheap in Russia. But for pensioners with a pension of 25,000 rubles, it's not so great.
And enjoy shopping for now. Rubble will colapse soon.
I have never wished for any other country to do badly for its people.
But for the Russians, who mostly agree with the occupation of Ukraine and the murder of Ukrainians, I wish only the worst.

You always have to put that into relation with income.
People have to keep in mind (and you mentioned it) that the average monthly income in Russia is only a fraction from what it is in Western Europe or the US, while food is more expensive in the West, but that much more.
The subsistence level / poverty line is about 15,000 rubles for one person (less than € 150). Btw about 10% of the Russian population have to live from that monthly budget or less.
In Western Europe poverty line is about € 1200 to 1.500 per month and in the US it is about $ 15.000 / year (8-10 times higher).
