*Looked at a lot of options for getting my **Latest.Bike** . Great find in SAVA. Super light, nice components, really good value as it comes with many options only found in much higher priced bikes.*
I placed an order just about an hour ago. It's the same model Canyon Endurace CF SL Disc 8. Only it is way smaller than yours, 2XS since I am pretty short (165cm). It is scheduled to arrive in mid/late July and I am looking forward to it! Thank you for your video. Enjoyed it very much!
Hi Ben, was searching information about this bike and you gave me exactly what I was looking for.Big thanks from France and I love Arizona where I have family in Phoenix. Bastien
I have the exact same model. I’m 6.1 with 33 inch inner leg and went with large in the end although I have switched out the stem from 110mm to 100mm. My average rides are 50km with the odd 75km-100km ride and I’ve found it great. Glad you’re enjoying it too.
Thanks for the comment Nick. It's a sweet bike for sure. Interesting you lowered your stem. I might lower mine and try it out. I really like being comfortable though. I'm sure I'm losing a bit of power and I'm less aerodynamic.
Thanks Ben. I'm 50 and this is my next bike. I have a 56cm Madone that has too aggressive of a profile for me now at my age. Planning on riding Sky Island in October (metric century in Sierra Vista) and the thought of riding the Madone that far makes my body ache just thinking about it! Now I just need for Canyon to restock this sucker.
I'm very happy with the Canyon. They are good bikes. They're also in stock from time to time, so you can actually get one. I'm thinking of doing some riding south of Tucson. Not sure exactly yet, but it's so pretty down there. Safe riding!
As of 1/5/23, looks like we gotta wait until fall until we can get this model. Spoke with Canyon and no reserve/deposit available. I've been looking at the Giant Defy but this one has way better components for the $$. Would love to see a video in how the bike is holding up. Cheers from North Phoenix.
I appreciate the comment Matt. It's always nice to receive the bike and put it together and then go for a ride on a bike that functions 100%. Enjoy. Don't forget to take off all the little tags and plastic bits. Life is good.
Just Curious why you said that it is not good for climbing as much, I was actually considering getting the boon or canyon endurance! I ride a 2012 trek madone currently!
hi friend. have the exact same bike and love it as well. Have you connected it to a trainer? just curious how that worked or if there is anything you need to be cautious of. thanks,
Hi Ben, great video. It helped me with respect to sizing. I have long legs, with shorter hands...so short reach. And everytime I bought an XL, i was streched. So I will sell my XL Orbea and looking at Canyon. For the Endurace I am just in the middle. For the Grizl, I am at the top of L and need to raise my saddle. Feel it is a bit small. When I ride out of saddle, when tested a GriL in size L, i felt I was going over the bars, but what can I say. An XL would be streched and don.t want to change stems all the way again 🙂
I just ordered an Endurace to replace my Giant Defy. I'm 184 cm tall and 88 cm cycling inseam and went with a size L. Canyon actually recommended both M and L sizes so I'm obviously right on the cusp. I went with the L for a taller stack (I notice you are running plenty of stem spacers on the M and for me the front might have still been a bit too low). I also have relatively long arms so I have a good reach. It looks like a great bike and considerably cheaper than equivalent bikes from Trek, Specialized, Cervelo etc. Availability is also better at the moment.
Actually I am thinking of buying this bike on friday used and I am 184cm too with 86cm cycling inseam. What do you think now that you had the bike for some time about the size? Do you think I should go with an L or M ? and did you modify it with some spacers or was it stock good?
Great setup. Looking at endurance oriented bikes for long charity rides but that are also fast. Looking at this endurace, a giant defy, or a trek Domane. Why the canyon?
Is the 11-34 gear ratio good with your flat rides? You didn't opt to change the ratio? I'm also living in a flat area so I'm contemplating going with the Ultimate instead for the more suited gear ratio.
They have alot in stock in medium Just ordered mine today after waiting 4 months for a trek domane sl6 i will have the same bike in 4 days fyi 3 lbs lighter
Hi Ben, Great video! Thank you! You posted the video back in May 2021. Do you still feel the same about the Canyon bike? Anything I do want to know before trying to order one? Thank you,
Still like it. I haven't been riding it much because it's been so hot in AZ but things are starting to cool down and I'm going to start riding a lot again. Great bike.
Middle aged guys with wonky backs represent!! How's the fit going? I'm 6'0" with 34" inseam and usually get a L or 58cm and the Canyon site came up to fit as a M so I was curious to know how that went.
I am 6” and 33.5” and I bought M, even though my previous bike from Focus was 56 and L. This is just the way Canyon measures their bikes. Don’t forget you always can swap stem to get extra 1-2cm of reach if you want (subject your handlebars are not integrated)
man, this seatpost makes me feel so good on any kind of surface including cobbles. this bike is solid and soft at the same time, the most comfortable rides I've ever did
Hi Ben, thanks for video! Fairly new rider here. Wondering how difficult it is to change the angle of the brake mechanism? Didn’t know you could do that. I think it will help with comfort…
Hey Ben, what´s your view on the road capabilites of this bike? Is some light gravel possible on those tires? Have you stayed 100% on roads or did you ride on some other terrain as well? How was your experience with it? Thanks
Hey Ben! 👋🏼 great review and message. I have a question, hopefully you can help me out. I am going to order my first canyon bike, and I’m a bit undecided; I’m torn between purchasing a road bike and a gravel bike. I’m not looking to do a ton of off road but just looking for something that can handle rough roads. What would you recommend?
You can put tires up to 32 on this bike I believe and it's fairly tough, so you should be able to go off road no problem. Definitely a commuter and enjoyable bike. I like it.
I really like the Endurace. Do I love it? Yes. This is a great bike for all round riding which is what I do most. If you are a badass rider who wants to go ultra-fast, go Ultimate. It won't be as comfy but you will ultra fast.
Have you tried it on light gravel/sand? How does it perform? Canyon is currently sold out for all cx and gravelbikes and am considering this. I mostly cycle on road (asphalt) but sometimes alson on really light gravelroads, nothing deep or soft tho.
I have not rode it on gravel, only road. I bought a Grail last year but sold it because I got a lot of flats. But I was riding pretty gnarly trails with it. I like the Endurace.
Hows the geometry on this bike? Higher stack or more sporty geometry? Im looking at XS so I can have better open hip angle at 164cm. Would it be too big for me? Canyon recommend xxs but my seat height for my current bike is at 691mm. Max height for xxs is 671.
Just adding my 2 cents here... I am 180cm and my inseam is 87cm. I have the same bike M size and it took quite a while to get used to a bit stretched position. I got neck pain after every >50km ride. I am not that flexible as you see. Now all good!
Is there a way to adjust the flex on the seatpost at the end where bolt is inside frame? You mention about not good for climbing, is that because geometry or the stack is just too tall? I see it's not much difference to ultimate or can drop the stem lower. Thank you if you have any experience or advice!
The Endurace is an endurance bike but a bit racy, hence the name "Endurace." So of course it won't climb like a purpose-built climbing bike but it does just fine since the geometry isn't as relaxed and stretched out like other endurance bikes. I've never ridden the Endurace on gravel although I think it would be fine with the right tires. I actually bought an aluminum Grail 7 that I ride on dirt roads and rough trails where only MTBs ride. I've blown quite a few tires and it's a rough ride on rough trails on the Grail, but it's a lot of fun. I probably could just rotate the tires on the Endurace and not have the Grail. I have gone down quite hard a few times on the Grail. I'm also clipped in. It's nice that its aluminum frame can take a beating. I think crashing on a carbon fiber frame might be problematic. In general I ride hard and it's also nice to have two bikes so when I blow one out, I can use the other.
Endurace owner here...I've taken the bike on light gravel/farm roads with the 28mm stock tires and it worked out OK. I'd say you can fit 35mm max (this probably equates to a 32mm gravel tire) and for light gravel, that's fine. For chunkier gravel/fire roads/single track, I wouldn't go below 40mm and the Endurace can't fit tires that big. Dedicated gravel bikes also have steeper head tube angles, longer chain stays, and wider handlebars, so the ride would be better.
@@darthjohn0 thanks for the info I just wanted a light bike that can mostly be road but sometimes I have to cross through little side roads with peddles and dirt and little bumps here and there and wanted to make sure it was going to handle OK on those terrains

@@benphilippi2288 Ah but wait, the plot thickens. I think you're on the right sized bike all right. I am 6' and ride a M Endurace. My seat is almost at the minimum, only the first 1.5 cm's of markers are showing on the front of the post. My stem is stock whatever the medium comes with, but I've only one small spacer under it. Have you considered that your seat is set way, way too high? I mean, they designed the bike so that it would look neutral, seat not too high, no need for the full stack of spacers under the stem. It's already a higher heat tube being an Endurance bike. Think about it, why would canyon recommend a M to folks like you or it, only to have the customer ride with the post AT MAX and a chimney of spacers and the bars upturned.
