This is the first time i have ever seen the final epidode. The man tears are unreal. I used to watch this with my nan and my best friend Oscar. He was my dog. Both no longer with me unfortunately. Ironically, i became law enforcement myself for a period of time. The nostalgia is real. Gone but never forgotten KITT... "Knight Rider: a shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man...who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law." 🇺🇲❤🇬🇧🤙💂♂️❤🚘
You know I'm 44 years old right now and I used to watch the show as a kid and I never did watch the series finale and I'm usually pretty good about making sure that happens so I'm definitely going to search for the episode now.
It sure hurt when Michael took off his comlink.😢😢 I cried when I first saw this scene 38 years ago when Michael said goodbye to KITT. I still get the 'feels'... I'm sure KITT was hurting as well after Michael walked away.
This scene is just as good as I remember it. Hope they show the scene at the end on the beach where Michael is at a crossroads trying to decide what to do now, before jogging back to KITT with the music playing and driving off. Glad we got this episode, even though it technically wasn't the show finale, it serves as one.
I like those old dark, wood paneled restaurants with the brass fixtures. Low ceilings so the only way to light the scene fast and cheap is with a few lights blasting directly at the actors creating ugly shadows on the walls. Gotta love 80s TV.

Here in the UK. We watched this brilliant show for the 1st time in February 1983: and the next day at school everyone was talking about it non stop! Kitt and Michael made a massive impact on me: I'd love to meet the massively talented! Mr David hasslehoff) people use the word legend all too often, but David really is a legend! Except that in this episode Michael didn't leave after all. He jumps back into KITT, has his revenge and goes back the Foundation. The conclusion is the same as in the first episode of Knight Rider.

I remember this one especially when Stevie walked out that's when I cried the hardest I hated it when left the watch with K.I.T.T. and said so long pal that's when I knew the show had reached it's five years run and I truly enjoyed and loved it I still miss it

This scene doesn't show Michael "sing off" either. I'm very disappointed that we didn't get to see some kind of Director's Cut musical number, and it has cast a pall over this posting.
I remember the movie had a conclusive ending that I really liked, when the organization dissolves and the car is destroyed and they manage to save it by inserting Kit into another one, first they choose a wreck of a car and then at the end of the movie they manage to insert Kit into a sports car reconciling with his old owner, a perfect ending.

It was soo sad i literraly cried for both of them they had one of the best fighting crime partnerships in history and when they ended the show i was like nooo i love knight rider it still is one of my favorite series of all time...
This Airwolf and A Team were my jams back then. Can't remember if I watch the final season. Did notice the stunt driver on the passenger side on this viewing. Then, I didn't notice now very obvious.
It's a shame this episode was never aired by the networks at the time. The official KR finale was Voodoo Knight - a typical season, not a show, finale.

The whole script was a huge compromise. From the start, the vibe is that NBC wanted to have something to cash on popularity of Robocop, with set in the future and creepy scenes, original KITT was supposed to return but Pontiac protested, and even Hasselhoff didn't like the film, including the red car. I think best logical conclusion would be that Michael and KITT retire from 1st line somewhere between 2000-2010, because of Michael's aging and growing difficulties with servicing KITT by now retired engineers, and Michael replaces Devon, but because of addiction to action and KITT's formidability he occasionally does some minor frontline and comes to the the rescue when successors get in too much trouble.

This was originally supposed to be the last episode of the series. I don't know the exact reason but NBC aired more first run episodes after this one.

Maybe "The scent of the roses" is the best Knight Rider episode ever produced. Really touching and well done. Watch it if you don't remember it.
I think it's just plain cute when stevie knew how Michael feels and I miss watching knight rider to this very day because really do today and beyond 😢
