    I like your upgrades and have been torn between this Cobra and the Wired bike. I've ridden the Cobra at a local dealer that has about 6 different brands of bikes. He's not familiar with the Wired bike but he really likes all of the Himiway line and especially the Cobra. Also told me they rarely come back in the shop for service issues which is making me lean towards the Cobra. Will continue to follow your channel because your reviews are very detailed and informative.

    Most excellent content! Pacing, cadence, edit , flow and information is the WEB's best! Thanx again Brian for all you do. We bought one Ariel Rider, and 2 Himi Cruisers based uponyour videos. I swapped out the front fork on my cobra w/ a Mastadon pro, huge improvement and well worth the money. A shorter stem is also on my list of upgrade, as well as wider bars, dropper seat post/seat, and I want to go to a 10 speed.

    the problem with the speed is more depending on load weight, windy resistance, friction, resistance, steepness, temperatures, driving skills and settings - not only a full battery. Based on E-mobility it is all relative. Perhaps you should try to hit top speed adding more Volts. That's what I did and experienced well switching from 60 to 72V and 50A on my electric motorcycle.

    You're likely seeing only 28mph partially due to those 4.9 tires. Definitely increases rolling resistance. Ive been experimenting with different tires and pressures, currently running 3.5 veetires. Man, what a difference. These tires are so much faster and smoother. The sidewall pressure says 30psi, but I'm running 35 with no problem. Super grippy tread, too. Acceleration is way quicker also. The nice thing is I can still hit mild trails and light off road with these, so I'm not limited to pavement. One of the best upgrades I've done. I already had this display, but with these slightly narrower tires, I can hit those higher speeds for longer and get a bit longer battery life. I'm done with knobby fat tires, at least on this bike. I'll keep them for wintering and off-roading though.

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'll have to do some more testing with a fully charged battery and some increased tire pressure I bet it cracks 30 mph. I've thought about getting those speedster tires but I just love the fat tire look still.

    • @EBikeBuilder_
      @EBikeBuilder_ ปีที่แล้ว

      these bafang hubs use a wheel diameter setting to calculate the speed. Its often erroneously set to 26" diameter, when in reality thats the rim diameter and if you actually measure the diameter of the wheel + inflated tire, its more like 28"+. If they make that configuration mistake, the speed will be off by a few MPH

  • @bestself2438
    @bestself2438 ปีที่แล้ว

    I’m getting one. Hardest part is choosing the best one for me. This channel helps, thanks. There’s some contradictions out there…you can’t have a throttle with a center motor, only a rear hub motor? True or false? Why do I need such fat tires? I’m a pavement / packers gravel/grass trail rider….do I really need those giant tires? Also, I like the idea of buying a bike big name brand nike like trek (for service /parts, etc) but the big name brands do not sell Class II bikes (no throttle) and I don’t always want to pedal. So confusing. Any advice is appreciated (from anyone). I love the Himiway. And the one without rear suspension might be a good fit for me. But cost isn’t an issue..if we were talking Lamborghini’s maybe….hahaha….I love a hike called Sur Ron but it’s really a super light trail bike….and no pedals so cops could give me a hard time. Anyway….Specialized makes a bike called a S-Works Turbo Levo Pricey (15,000) but maybe it’s “The One”?

    • @taylorhickman84
      @taylorhickman84 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe you are correct, hub drives are the only ones I know of that have a throttle. The fat tires are probably overkill for your type of riding, but you probably encounter curbs in which they tackle with ease.

      No. They both have the same top speed limit setting. Its really dependent on whether your bike has a 22 or 25 amp controller. The 986 has automatic headlight feature, and detachable remote and USB dongle which the 718 does not.

    • @mrgold3591
      @mrgold3591 ปีที่แล้ว

      The +4 inch fat tires are made more for off road, deep sand, sloppy mud, rocky hill climbing, or rough terrain. Smaller tires with an all terrain tread might work better for paved roads, sidewalks, and light trail work. Might not even need the full suspension if you go with the smaller tires. Adding a suspension seat post to a hard tail like from Suntour SP12 NCX, Cane Creek, or Kinekt Bodyfloat might be the 90% solution.

Those stampings indicate whether they use the 750W motor or the 1000W motor. I can't tell from their marketing which version they are using- it says 750W in some areas, but then also says upgraded motor 1000w. did you ever play with the speed on the Fabulous bike you have ??

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  ปีที่แล้ว

      I did not play around with the speed too much on the fabulous EMX extreme bike. I think it topped out around 26 mph. I'm sure I had the limit turned up as high as it would go and I remember setting the controller amps to the max not sure what else could be done on that one.

    I have the cyrusher XF800 ,how do I find out if this screen is compatible?

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would just email Robinson cycle and ask, they'll get back to you. They have a bunch of bikes listed on their website I did not see Cyrusher in the list.

    The Zebra looks better. If you really want to go crazy just out a suspension seat post.

      I might get a suntour suspension post instead for the zebra

    With a thumb throttle you can’t downshift without letting off the throttle, that’s why I don’t like

    • @CitizenCycle925
      @CitizenCycle925  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ernesttaylor967 should be okay, pedaling may feel a little cramped. If I remember right, putting the seat where i wanted to mount the bike made the pedals felt close to seat once riding.
