Just saw a small flock of these flying over my place north of Rocky Mtn. hse. Alberta. Maybe 15 birds. So amazing and beautiful. What a sight they are..

Possibly saw a flight yesterday. Do they make a beautiful "cooing" sound when chatting with each other in flight?

The Trumpeter has a resonant, sonorous, loud, low-pitched, bugle like call. Its look alike, the smaller Tundra has a high pitched often quavering oo-oo-oo, accentuated in the middle; or who, who-ho: woo-oo-woo; or who-who. Hope this helps. Check online for sound recordings of the two species.
