My wife and I bought one of these yesterday and found your commentary. You have excellent presentation skills, and also have a thorough knowledge of the importance of proper microphone technique and acoustics. Of course your product knowledge is extremely impressive too, but that to me is almost a side issue. I see so many poorly presented YT channel "how-to-do" videos, but yours was an absolute delight. Keep up the good work! You might even investigate the audiobook narration field. Simply put, you have great "chops." It's a gift.

I was just about ready to click purchase, that is until you measured for the travel mugs and all mine are 7 inches. To bad, I already grind my own with an adjustment chronicle grinder and the grinds looks close to my settings. Oh well, maybe they will make it bigger next time. Thanks for the review.

My husband researched and bought this to grind and brew a single cup. Ironically he uses kcups and I use the single grind. We like this machine but personally IMO i prefer the percolator. 😅. I learned new information watching the YT. Thanks!

I bought this coffeemaker on Prime Day, and after unboxing and trying to follow the manual, I found your video. It was so, so helpful! I followed along and made coffee with you, so I’m all set for tomorrow morning. I guess I didn’t understand when I ordered it - thought it was a more traditional grind and brew or maybe it was going to make pour over coffee, which is all the rage. If I’d known, I might have chosen something different because the separate grinding into a cup and the placing it in another holder just seems too unwieldy. (I am not a fan of Kcups). Still, the coffee was fine… Thanks again for the very helpful video.

Wow!!! This was a great review answered all of my questions including a paper filter for the hopper side. I’m gonna try it out hopefully the sediment won’t make a big difference. This is the perfect footprint for a small kitchen!!!

Thanks for the review, I was considering this and you answered some critical questions that prevented me from wasting my money. The non-adjustable grind, plastic burrs and very low brew temps are the reasons I would not want this unit. Many of the oils, alkaloids and compounds need 210F to be properly extracted.
FIONA! 🥰 I've noticed 🧐🔎 that a lot of coffee makers lately "java" a coffee bean grinder integrated with the brewer! I abSOlutely loVe 💕 this! I will consider 🤔 buying this machine in future when one of my many coffee machines unceremoniously "dies" one fine Monday morning! 🤣 I am still fortunate to brew coffee from my i coffee Express Single Serve Brewing System with spin brew technology by Remington! 🙂 I occasionally bring her back from the Great Grind and Beyond by descaling with white vinegar! Great tutorial!!! 🙃
If you put a single dose of beens in at a time spay with a very tiny amount of water (mist) that'll stop the static and stop the coffee sticking to the filter
Thanks for the review. I have never seen this type of coffee maker before. And it's so convenient to have fresh coffee beans grind go into a k cup. Ms. Fiona is chilling out. 😃. Also, I would put a K-Carafe paper filter inside the reusable k cup.

Great walkthrough. I got one for Christmas, was on my wishlist. I absolutely love it so far. After my coffee brews all 3 lights flash and have done so since the first cup. You mentioned it means it needs to be descaled. I couldn’t see if all three of the lights flashed on your brewer after your brewed. Seems strange To need to descale upon first use. I’ll have to look into this. 😊
Wow…if I had known this existed, I may have purchased this instead of my Grind & Brew Plus! I’m glad I got mine though, since I have the large coffee pot. But this definitely would have been a contender. I think it’s great to have a freshly-ground coffee option for single serves!!

On my commute to work at 5:00 a.m. this morning I wish I had a grind and brew coffee maker in my vehicle so I think I will buy one of these and modify it to work in my vehicle so I can always have a French cup of coffee while driving in fact if it works out really well maybe I will produce my own grind and groove for camper vans, commuters and truck drivers
@@percyflores7517 We really like it, it does make a little mess after grinding but the fact it makes very little noise is a big plus for me. I get up about 5:30 to 6 and my wife staying in bed until 7, so its well worth it. I grind my cup the night before and put it in machine and it stays fresh. If you knock on the side of the grinder after it finishes, it will limit the mess and save on coffee as well. We were using the Keurig k cup machine and high end unit and we watched a show one night with 2 women taking apart the Keurig machine to find awful things growing inside the hoses lol.......she will only drink coffee with this machine. Hope this helps
I really love the convenience of this machine (I use the grinder and reusable filter) although even at 8oz it’s just a little too weak for me (watery). Probably not a big deal to others but I’ve always made really strong coffee (water to grind ratio)

I just got this exact machine this week. My hinge wasn't broken and doesn't spill the freshly ground coffee everywhere. I'm wondering if you should exchange yours. Just a thought. Mine is absolutely perfect. I just tried my first store bought pod today my son brought me. It's really good too. I don't mine what I call the soot you called it sediment but it doesn't hurt a thing.
You forgot to tamp down the coffee grinds before brewing, that's why you have sediment in your cup. Even Kcups are packed down. I like coffee a little weaker so I love that I can turn off the grinder when the filter cup is about half full. I just paid a total of $65 for mine, it pays to Google.
The add water button won’t go off. I’ve had this for over a year and I love it use it daily. I’ve been gone for a week so I haven’t used it for a week.
great review. I just got mine. But I noticed that the brew sizes are not accurate. The 8 oz button brews 10 oz, the 10 oz button brews around 12 oz, and the 12 oz button brews nearly at 16oz! Is this happening for everyone? Or is my unit defective?
Yes, I plugged it into a different outlet.... It worked just fine after that. I even plugged it back into the original spot afterwards and worked fine then on out. I think maybe the grinder was kinda stuck?? No problems since.

I love the idea of this grind & brew .. but you can’t make a good 12oz cup, can’t adjust size of the grind, can’t fit a larger carry mug under it, has a lot of sediment in the coffee, not real hot coffee (and that’s without cream in it) .. ? And damaged when you received it? I’m wondering if there will be an updated, improved model coming out.
Thank you for this video because it convinced me not to buy it. I assumed the grind and brew process was a seamless process and did not involve having to remove and re-place the tiny cup that the coffee was ground in to. In other words, I thought the water would just pour over the grounds with the push of a button once ground. From what I can see, the only advantage to this machine is to be able to precisely grind into the portable "K-Cup". A Keurig and hand grinder can accomplish the same thing without the grounds being sprayed over the counter while grinding. Thanks for saving me $150.

After grinding cofee beans i placed it into the cofee chamber, My coffee was full of coffee bean little tiny pieces. Looks yukky to drink. I dont want all these floaties in my cup, Returned item. Bought a Hamilton flexbrew instead.

Thanks for your informative videos on this coffeemaker. I only wished you had covered an issue I've had since I was gifted my Cuisinart DGB-2 nearly a year ago. Haven't seen this problem crop up in anyone else's comments on your site, though. Mine always grinds too much coffee into the single serve cup, as much as 2 teaspoons beyond the normal fill point. That causes a big mess of spilled grounds into the drip tray as I remove the cup from the grinder. It's obviously a timing issue - the automatic grinder is simply running too long. Is there any way to adjust grinding time short of just turning off the grinder? It's very hard to see how full the cup is getting when the grinder is running, so that isn't a great way to solve the problem.
I purchased this coffee maker about 3 months ago and very pleased with it. I purchased one for my father for Christmas. When adding the K-cup and closing the lid, the brew sizes won't light up. I tried trouble shooting but failed to figure out the source of the problem. I returned it and purchased a replacement and the same problem occurred. What would you recommend? Thank you. I got one but it didn't work. The only lights on are the Power and Grind, the other buttons do not light and do not work. I checked the manual, watched videos, including this one, but it just doesn't work.
Just unpacked and followed the instructions. Only the Grind light will come on. Can’t get the other lights to come on-so it won’t brew. GFI is OK. Watched your video and tried it again. Same result. Nothing. Taking it back to Target tomorrow and will exchange for another one and give it another try.
My coffeemaker like this doesn’t come with a filter that goes inside the reusable filter cup. And I’m getting a lot of grinds mess when making a cup of coffee.

I just bought it today and it is watery.
I also found the 8 ounce to be light. I remedied this by swapping out the cup at around 5 or 6 ounce mark. It makes for a stronger cup.
Also, would a stronger bean make a big difference?
I found that when i still had some ground coffee, I would slightly over pack the reusable filter to get a stronger cup

After grinding cofee beans i placed it into the cofee chamber, My coffee was full of coffee bean little tiny pieces. Looks yukky to drink. I dont want all these floaties in my cup, Returned item. Bought a Hamilton flexbrew instead.

Question: couldn’t you use one of those small k-cup paper filters in the cuisinart holder to prevent or reduce the sediment?
Thanks for your informative videos on this coffeemaker. I only wished you had covered an issue I've had since I was gifted my Cuisinart DGB-2 nearly a year ago. Haven't seen this problem crop up in anyone else's comments on your site, though. Mine always grinds too much coffee into the single serve cup, as much as 2 teaspoons beyond the normal fill point. That causes a big mess of spilled grounds into the drip tray as I remove the cup from the grinder. It's obviously a timing issue - the automatic grinder is simply running too long. Is there any way to adjust grinding time short of just turning off the grinder? It's very hard to see how full the cup is getting when the grinder is running, so that isn't a great way to solve the problem.

I purchased this coffee maker about 3 months ago and very pleased with it. I purchased one for my father for Christmas. When adding the K-cup and closing the lid, the brew sizes won't light up. I tried trouble shooting but failed to figure out the source of the problem. I returned it and purchased a replacement and the same problem occurred. What would you recommend? Thank you. I got one but it didn't work. The only lights on are the Power and Grind, the other buttons do not light and do not work. I checked the manual, watched videos, including this one, but it just doesn't work.

Nice review but a non-adjustable grinder is a deal-breaker for me.

Just unpacked and followed the instructions. Only the Grind light will come on. Can’t get the other lights to come on-so it won’t brew. GFI is OK. Watched your video and tried it again. Same result. Nothing. Taking it back to Target tomorrow and will exchange for another one and give it another try.

My coffeemaker like this doesn’t come with a filter that goes inside the reusable filter cup. And I’m getting a lot of grinds mess when making a cup of coffee.
