Thank you so much for making this video. I woke up to make my morning coffee and the grinder wouldn't work. Fortunately I saved the cup with the little brush on the end. I cleaned the brew grinder unit until it rotated as you demonstrated in your video and voilà, it works again! Company is arriving today from Europe for two weeks. You saved us! Thanks again!
I did, in fact, disassemble the grinder and clean it up successfully. Lay down a paper towel on your work surface and then use a phillips head screwdriver (gently) for the disassembly process. From there, lay the components on the towel in the sequence they were removed. Use the brush that came with the kit. If you have a magnifying device of some sort, you can see the "toothing" of the grinder, and see that the opposing components work in opposition to one another i.e. there is a stationary component and a component that is in motion when the grinder is on...I used a combination of the brush and also toothpicks to clean the toothing. You can rinse and time dry, or use compressed air to cry the composts. Reassemble in the exact reverse order you disassembled the grinder. Worked just fine for me after the procedure. 100% cleaned with no residual coffee grinds..........
To everyone in here that can’t get the buttons to light up… I fixed it Under the lid there is a small rubber pressure switch. Feel around with your finger to find it. Depress that switch to release it and the coffee maker should light up the buttons. I received a replacement unit in the mail for the first one I thought was defective and it had the same issue. Dissected the first one to find that switch and got it. Let me know if this works for y’all.
YES - this is the answer, but I didn't really understand where to look for the pressure switch based on "under the lid". Still not sure how to explain it for others, but basically, you have to open the lid and then feel around behind where the kcup would go. So if you were to imagine a kcup being in the machine and you run your finger along the top of it, straight back, you'll feel the rubber "button" pretty far back into that area... if you press it, it will release and the lights instantly come on. I was so frustrated so I kept looking for it and finally started looking where it didn't really make sense to me and sure enough it was there.
Hello brand-new unit, plug it in, only the power light and grinder light turn on. The other three light since it was open never turn on at any point no matter what I do. Is this normal? What does that mean?
I had the same problem. I pushed up on the rubber ring around the upper needle and everything started working. Evidently, the head wasn't closing properly and loosening the ring allowed it to lock.
Hi Neil, tried it on my mine and it didn't seem to work. Shut the lid a few minutes later and the cup size lights came on ? !!!!! Zero confidence it'll keep working, but what the heck, I'll give it a try.. thanks for your post. Russ
@@russhunsberger6634 Mine has continued to work without any further issues. I really do like it....makes a fine cup of coffee and is easy to clean. I also run it without the capsule to make a nice, hot cup of tea.
So glad I found this! I was on hold for up to 15 minutes with Cuisinart's helpline without an answer and was ready to pack it up a SECOND TIME! Solution was the same...took the rubber ring on the needle inside of the KCup holder as well as pushed on the locking mechanism a few times before all of the lights came on. Thank you!
I removed the rubber protector on the needle and pushed on the locking mechanism a few times before all of the lights started blinking for me to close. As soon as I closed it, all of the lights went solid. I hope this works for all of you!

Hi, I unplug it cause you said if the three size still flashing its overheated but, I unplig it after 10 minutes I plug again and become flashing the three size again. What can I do?
In my opinion, when you buy a brand new unit and it doesn't brew, its worthless. I returned mine immediately and will never buy that particular unit again. Its not worth the time and effort to own this unit based on other reviews.
Hey, Friend! Was able to return my machine to BBB and pick up the lone one that was in store (yay for not having to deal with shipping again). Working great - tried a kcup first and other than the kcup not being great itself, machine brewed it perfectly and hot. (Yay!) Tried some beans but thinking they just aren’t great beans (flavor was meh), so will empty those out (and watch out for the spill) and try some really great, bold ones. Final thought, been thinking about your unboxing video and seeing the cracked water container for a second reminded me. Yeah, pretty sure your machine was used and a return. I’d have Amazon right that. No way it should have been cracked at water container top or have had grounds in the grinder. Get you a new one/replacement. Finally, Happy grinding & brewing!
Thanks for your update on this coffee maker!! Yeah I am getting a new one from Amazon that is a good point you make. Thanks for taking the time to leave your feedback. lots of people look at the comments under these videos and yours is very well written and some great honest feedback. Thanks!
@@JustADad My absolute pleasure to share! Glad you’re getting a replacement. Make it right, Amazon! Think I’ll go make a cup with the new beans again. They were much better. Used Peet’s Brazil. One difference I’m noticing is a lighter body to the coffee. Like the mouthfeel is light, not heavy. Maybe I’m used to my Nespresso shots, cause they definitely have a weightier (enjoyably so) feel.
I don’t have the answer but many of my kcup top covering tears from one side to the other which then causes the grounds to go everywhere including my cup. At first I thought it was the kcup cover quality so I went back to Peets. But it is still happening. It appears the top needle is plastic instead of SS so maybe that’s the problem. If anyone has a clue to the cure, please tag me in your comment. I did clean the top out. this is my only issue with this machine but it’s a deal breaker for sure.
I am so pissed off I bought these for Christmas gifts the brew lights do not come on. I have tried to call the stupid customer service line for a week. They don't answer!! How in the heck can I get this piece of crap warrantied. Don't buy it it seems this has been an ongoing problem. So much for a good company, there are no good companies anymore.
Considered buying this for the price point, glad I didn’t. Thanks for the video.

Did you notice if there was any way manually when cleaning to perhaps tighten the grinder to get a finer ground?
Thank you for this! I had the water light issue. I was easily able to release the float and everything is working again! Thanks for saving my day!
Glad it helped!
I have this exact model.. its been working grear for 2 years now.. still goin strong. Would definitely recommend this model.. paid for it $99 on sale.
Glad to hear you've had a good experience with it!

Try putting a big baggie under the beans so they don’t go all over counter

That spoon is great to pack down the freshly ground coffee, in the little cup, otherwise you will get residue in your cup.
How can I adjust it to make it grind finer?
I’m thinking it may be one speed. I can’t locate a button for it

After successful grinding the grinding light does not go off. So it will not brew.
