Didnt see or hear a firetruck.
Also not very observant, i immediatly noticed the "Cyclists stay back" sticker on the back of the fire engine.
It's the fire engine driver's fault as they didn't see a bell-end on a bike doing an illegal and stupid inside overtake when they were clearly visible and audible and responding to an emergency call. Of course, the cyclist could also go through red lights and travel two abreast with a mate as well, and perhaps with another couple of dozen cyclist in a big snake 'because we can'.
Some people want rights but not assume responsibilities.
The motorcyclist who went off the road and down that hill was DEFINITELY harmed. 💯
But his dignity was preserved because the engine drowned out his screaming. lol

I can totally believe it. Over here in Germany, there are some instances where the biker claims (on a technicality rightly so) that, if the emergency vehicle is not using lights and siren, it has no right of way. Generally a sh*tty move that has led to sone emergency departments dropping the "courtesy runs" where they turn off the siren at night unless they have to cross a roard they cannot fully oversee. So thanks, bicyclists for the return of the midnight fanfare.

@@Xeroxiv The car stopped because she put it in gear. You can see that the wheels stop rolling before the car stops. She simply pulled on the shifter, the clutch is for smooth shifting not for unlocking the stick. You can pull anytime if you like the sound of gears crunching. She heard some crunch too.

@womble321 yeah, but to carry on straight even though he must have been able to see that the fire engine was going to turn and cut him off means that he either wasn't paying attention, or it was a deliberate act, an attempt to generate more bad feeling towards motorists. It really wouldn't surprise me, given how entitled a lot of cyclists have become

@@andrewvelonis5940the pin in the transmission that locks when you go into park is quite small. Over time it will wear out if used to hold the car constantly. The actual parking brake exists for a reason
@@kevinfitzpatrick5949 The manual handbrake has a higher failure rate than the locking pawl in an automatic, though that is usually from disuse causing it to seize up if I were to guess.
Ideally you should use both still, but if you were to only rely on one, the chunk of metal wedged into your gear teeth generally is pretty reliable. I've had two automatics where the manual handbrake just flat out did nothing at all, it was a glorified decoration piece, and I've had two manuals where the handbrake while functioning, was relatively weak and could not hold on a steep incline. After all, one has to consider that a manual handbrake is only a piece of friction material pressed against a surface with the force of your arm.
It does however have a major advantage in impact resistance, as a parking pawl once sheered off from, say, the force of another vehicle hitting yours will be done, whereas a parking brake working on friction will eventually slow and stop the car again even if the initial impact is strong enough to overpower its grip on the brake surface.
