    *The Clawblade, Cannon, and Staff, are unlocked in chapter 2.*
    *By the way, I also factor in raw "complexity", stamina management, and mobility, when analyzing the difficulty of a weapon. That stat only applies to brand new players.* -BoomstickAlex

    The whackstick isn’t that hard in my opinion, it’s not that you have to learn to use each transformation. It’s just one combo allowing you to go in sword mode, you just have to time your transformations after attacks, just like the bonkbarrel.

    • @madmax4971
      @madmax4971 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Agreed. And if you have a karakuri build you can ultimately avoid half the transfers and just spam the moves that get 2 bars instead of 1 and get to the big swing faster. It’s a deceiving weapon that makes you this honest transitioning and flowing is key. But it’s not. Imo. Reminds me of monster hunter and how you’d have dead combo routes that almost felt like they existed to throw the player off from learning properly.

    I have been playing bow by far the most and due to its range, mobility it seems to be the the easiest ( most comfortable) for me. Been maining range weapons in MHW prior.
    And I like this bow a lot. Everything is comfortably and safely useable with that weapon in wild heart.
    The cannon on the other hand is much less mobile and has longer animations.
    And it's coolest move is defenitely harder to build up because of the projectile speed and short range when firing a ki-base ( they have to hit the kemono and be picked up to charge the big laser).
    So if you want to fully use the cannon moves you are even more vulnerable because the ki-base can be at dangerous spots while the bow can always move freely and reposition optimally.

    • @megamilkxl3414

      pro tip! use glider karakuri to fly and shoot simultaneously, you’ll be able to build up enough heat to use your big damage laser without having to worry about safety really. you can land close to the monster and use the shell point blank for a confirmed hit, then laser it up. very easy and good damage. plus ac130 cosplay

      With some stow speed, u can stow the cannon pretty quick. Which lets u swap to fire and put it away faster so u have more mobility. U can hit the ki base mortars a lot easier by hugging the kemono. No aim needed, just huge balls, lol! U can also animation cancel all the cannon moves! U can dodge roll out of dropping or picking up ki bases, and u can dodge roll out of picking up the charge for ur laser. This cuts the animation time in half! U can also use celestial anchor and shoot and do a spread shot. This doesn't cost any charge and builds heat up super fast. 2 anchor spread shots, and u have a charged ki base mortar ready. U can also animation cancel these as well so they happen faster, one after another! U can use torch first, then anchor spread shot and literally just 1 torched spread shot basically gives u a full charge.. U can also dodge roll out of laser attack at any point, before or after firing.
      Bow is definitely safer than cannon as most ur attacks don't need to be so close (*cough *cough ki base mortars) and like u said u don't need to hit a mortar shot to get a laser attack. Bow just goes with the flow.

    The staff does give animation lock when you are in the middle of doing one of your R2 combos so doing them the right time is crucial and button mashing won't work on enemies like Golden Tempest who fight like crazy and are jumping around spinning slapping with u anime moves right out of ur button mashing animation lock now your down for the count because u mashed and yes you can be hit with combos as well as them difference being u die with two or three hits and that's with food buff's it's all about timing with the staff.

    Bow with glider opens its use and damage a lot btw. Use it to hit a hard shot, into a full charge volley to apply arrows, the glide right after to detonate the arrows with the power shot. Extremely high dps that is mobile to dodge and move away while throwing in top dps. Only downside is if you run out of karakuri/thread points, but after one or two volleys, the bosses can be harvested for thread to continue onslaught.

      @@chrisjames5372 The only thing that the hammer and nodachi share is the charge while moving but that's kinda where similarities stop I think. Other than that it has a similar gameplay loop to GS. It has LVL 1-3 charge and your goal is to hit the true charge slash equivalent while getting in smaller hits till you get that opening. Maybe I didn't play hammer in MH enough but they feel like two separate playstyles (given this is a different game but nodachi scratches my GS itch, not the maul like many people are saying).

    • @chrisjames5372
      @chrisjames5372 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MrKing-qd7gi its exactly the same as hammer. Move whilst charging 3 stages of charge each one resulting in a different attack. Basic x and y combos.
      Literally the only thing it shares with great sword is the fact it has a big damaging attack at the end of the charge. That is all. It does not in anyway share a similar gameplay loop as greatsword. I've played since mhfu and gs mained for a lot of that time.
      Nodachi and hammer have far more similarities than nodachi and gs
      The maul has more similarities to gs than the nodachi does

    • @MrKing-qd7gi
      @MrKing-qd7gi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chrisjames5372 Well I came in at World so I guess you've got more experience but I've still put in tons of hunts as a GS main in 2 monster hunter games to know that Odachi is closer to a GS playstyle than the Maul is. Maybe the movesets between Odachi and hammer are visually similar but the Odachi centers around its big hits and that single factor changes the playstyle. Again, haven't played hammer a ton but it seems centered around "KO monster with spinny moves> big bang combo".
      I'll settle on Odachi being similar as a hybrid of the two playstyles but I don't understand any of these comparisons with maul and GS. I guess because it's got a 3 hit combo? Only no charging (which is integral to the identity of the GS). To me it seemed like a shorter big bang combo if anything but thats out of my range of experience. Also, the ideal way to play Odachi isn't even to move around while charging then release to do the move you want. It's to land the smaller hits while charging to ideally release the big hit (3 smaller hits go straight into the big hit) or to charge in place and release a big hit. That is also similar to how the GS plays. It even has a (not as useful) tackle, the triangle button moves either towards them or away with a few I-frames while dealing small damage that you can use to continue a charge. I'm talking playstyle here, not how similar the moves seem.
      Main takeaway. You may be right about it being like hammer, but maul is not like the GS in my experience and the Odachi still itches that GS itch far better than maul does. This is coming from someone who's at wild heart's endgame.

  • @sorinsnow3232
    @sorinsnow3232 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yeah... i gotta say, youve gotta be either averaging your low gauge and high gauge damage or just outright using it wrong if your Bladed Wagisa damage is just Medium, a full gauge Trey Star deals roughly 93% of the damage of an equivalent Nodachi full charge attack contacting except Trey Star is quick to come out, multi-hit for easier application of chance on-hit effects like fire from a torch karakuri or any of the Ailment Wielder skills, useable on demand, and only costs ~1/3 of your stamina meter so you can get off 3 of them in the time it takes the Nodachi to charge up once, plus at full gauge your air combo is doing slightly more damage than a Maul's base length combo but coming out way faster (granted that is using the maul wrong but the point stands), and youre definitely using it wrong if youre putting it at medium mobility, the thing can literally fly with its air combos and zoop around as it pleases with Void Shift

    Lul, bow is one of the easiest weapons. You don't need to care about close attacks of kemono's, just spam 3 attacks and you will win every fight without effort. Nadachi should be pointed as Hard, instead of Bow, because you need much more skill to decide when to hit, how to dodge and to get the charge correctly. That weapon has much more tactic in it compared to bow where you can even don't use katakuri.

    Personally would not put bow at high difficulty anymore. It took me less than an hour to get the bow mechanics and combinations down. I’m typically an aerial player, using the kinesect staff through the last 3 MH’s. So it’s not like I have prior experience in these games with bows

    Long Sword = Katana
    Dual Blades = Claw Blades

    Lance/Sword & Shield = Wagasa (Blocking/Counters)
    Bow = duh
    Hammer = Maul (Hunting Horn too simply cuz BONK)
    Switch Axe/ Charge Blade = Staff (its morphing time)

      I feel like the Maul = Greatsword and Nodachi = Hammer. The Maul has you locked in place while going through its three-hit combo much like the TCS combo for GS, where the Nodachi can move around while charging its big attack much like Hammer in MH. Granted, none of them really line up 100% with MH (which is definitely a good thing, would be kinda boring if they did), but going through moveset videos my Hammer main brain saw Nodachi and said, "Oh yeah, that's Hammer if it stayed up for two days straight bingeing Berserk!"
      Everything else I definitely agree with though. Either way I'm definitely looking forward to checking this game out!

      @BoomstickGaming  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Difficult doesn't mean "not good". It requires extra timing based inputs for most all swings, and is pretty slow. To a brand new player, that would be one of the harder weapons to pick up and be good with.
      To me, the cannon has very low raw "inputs', making it somewhat easier once you understand the couple of moves your going to be doing over and over.
