    I love Ryan's No BS, straight to the point. vids. Love my Performabuilt trans. Was behind a built 383 LTx, now it's getting ready for more abuse from a built LS2. I've had it since 2002 and no complaints. Only thing to ever fail was the converter that my tuner broke on the dyno. I may just send it to Ryan to have it inspected and possibly updated with all his new stuff.

      @@PerformaBuiltTransmissions Been there done that but I have been confused a bit as to which parts are used in the different vintages of 4l60e like harnesses and valve body components. Valve body and harness setup for the c5 from 1997 to 2004 will be the same and you can use any valve body and harness out of any 4l60e or 65e from 1997 to 2006. The gmc canyon has a unique core and is set up in the style of 2009-2013 model valve body and harness. The only time the 4l60e got super weird is the three standalone years i.e 1993, 1994, and 1995.

    Hate your delivery but love your facts and knowledge. I have run a cammed 5.3 LS with a 4L60 in an S10 up to roughly 475hp with great success. My current ride, A '68 C10 has a similar engine with a hotter cam and long tubes and I opted for the 4L80 because of the weight of the truck, larger tunnel and available space. Both trucks are very reliable and in a cruiser IMHO the 4L60 works just great, want to step it up ? 5 pinion planets and all the aftermarket goodies are out there for the 60 so have at it but the 80 handles the power and doesn't cost you an arm and a leg.

    • @PerformaBuiltTransmissions
      @PerformaBuiltTransmissions  ปีที่แล้ว +6

      In the inner talks of the industry, the 80 isnt going to be cheaper much longer. Cores are getting destroyed and harder to get, the drums cant turn near as much rpm and are costly for aluminum ones. Reid just increased their prices immensely a few days ago. The 80 is about to cost more than the 60 by alot.

    An ISS does not make it a 4L70E. There are 4L60E RPO M30 with an ISS, these had 4 pinion planetaries and controlled by a TCM. I believe when GM went from PCMs that controlled both the engine and trans to separate ECM and TCM that the TCM required an ISS, so to keep using the 4L60E it had to be upgraded to have an ISS. The 4L65E RPO M32 has 5 pinion planetaries, 7 clutches in the 3-4 pack, stronger input shaft, and a stronger forward sprag. The 4L70E RPO M70 has the same upgrades as a 4L65 plus a stronger output shaft. A 4L70E RPO M70 was only found in the TrailBlazer SS, 2006 GMT800 with LQ9 engine, and 2007 and 2008 GMT900 with L76 engine.

      99 percent of this was mentioned in the video minus codes... most people watching this dont want to get that into it and want it put simply. Simply is, The biggest difference between the 70 and the rest being basically a iss sensor is the key and major difference that came about in 2006 and primarily in 2007 and 2008 various model codes. Transmission slang is 2007 and 08 were pretty much in fact dubbed the 4l70e unofficially by nearly everyone in and out of the industry. Said 2006 trailblazer was mentioned in being the true 70 as well. You can also change most pcms or tcm iss input selection from fitted to not fitted as it was not an essential peice at all.
