    What happens if the child needs to go to the bathroom when they are still in the crib between age 2 and 3, i.e., after they are potty trained?

      If fully potty-trained, no need for a crib. They are advanced enough to not be confined.

    What are you supposed to do if you're 20-month-old climbs out of the crib? Since they are not old enough for a bed yet

    My wife decided to switch from the crib to floor bad but my son is 10 month old. The reason she decide to switch is she is worried about his neck being squished while he is sleeping sideways.
    What can you recommend in this case?

      Hey there, Sergii! We do not recommend moving to a floor bed/open bed until 3 years old! That's because little ones do not understand the boundaries and expectations that come with staying in their open bed. It's so common for little ones to snuggle up to the sides of their crib and that's perfectly okay!

    Could we set up an open toddler bed and just raise the mattress a bit? Maybe to the second position available. I ask since a twin bed won’t fit in the room.

      Hey!! Yes, of course!! That would definitely work given your space constraints! If you ever feel like you need more help, don't hesitate to reach out to support@littlezsleep.com! 💛 Becca

    Your videos are so great! Wish i saw them sooner. So our son is 2,5 years old. And after seeing this video i now know we were too early with switching to a toddler bed.
    What do you recommend? It has been really exhausting. He’s still a awake at 10 pm. Keeps coming out of his bed. That i sometimes want to switch back to the crib. Or lay with him the entire time untill he falls a sleep.

    Any suggestions or do you have a course for children with special needs? My son is 3 and autistic and the receptive language is not fully there yet. I don’t know how well he’s going to understand what’s going on and he isn’t yet able to have back and forth conversation. Likes he’s just starting to learn how to tell us that he’s hungry or thirsty. My worry is that he’s a tall boy and we have done just about everything we can to keep him in the crib like dropping the mattress down to the floor, using a sleep sack, etc. Do I just wait to see if he figures out one day how to climb out?

      Hey Shelly!! Thank you so much for asking!! I would suggest getting in touch with a Sleep Consultant who specializes in children with special needs. I have heard of: www.melissadomansleepconsulting.com/

    You say to wait until 3 years old but then what to do with 2 year olds attempting to climb out of the crib?

    • @littlezsleep

      Hey there! We have a few different recommendations you can try when it comes to climbing out of the crib for children younger than 3! If you copy/paste this question to support@littlezsleep.com, my support team will be glad to share our recommendations with you in greater detail! 💛

    At 3 do we need to have rails or bumpers on the side?

    • @littlezsleep
      @littlezsleep  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Kelsey! Great question! I would go with your gut. If your child is an active sleeper, I would get a rail just in case

    I'm so happy you shared this! Our tot is closing in on 18 months, and we are getting close to those next big milestones- potty training and a big kid bed. You were a lifesaver when she was 4 months and I sleep trained her with ease.
    Our little never slept in a crib, we opted for a pack n play. Do you think a pack n play will hold her until 3? Its rated up to 30 inches, and she's close to 24 already.

    • @littlezsleep
      @littlezsleep  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! She may be able to stay in the pack n play the whole time. You could also look into a larger pack n play like the Guave Lotus or Joovy Room!

    My 20 mth old is tall for his age and he jumped out of his crib (on the lowest setting and while in a sleep sack) the other night. This threw in a big wrench into our peace of mind at night. Fortunately, I was able to modify his crib and take out the spring so it lowered him a few inches. I believe this bought us a few weeks maybe but I dont think it will prohibit him from getting out up till age 3. I looked online and bought a crib tent, havent used it yet but was wondering your thoughts? If you have any advice either i would love to hear it.
