Somehow the digital mirrors are successful with (mercedes) truck drivers, I guess Audi was just to cheap with this particular implementation (Screens are way too low, and small)
Or maybe Audi has overstock in factory storerooms that they need to get rid of because people were not paying the extra to have them on their Q4 Etrons…………
Bjørn, „Q“ sounds like „Kuh“ in German, meaning „cow“ as you know. So your „fat e-tron“ analogy is perfect, they call it a cow themselves 😜
When will the drive the car until it dies videos come Back?
Once it gets warmer and I get a new car that I have not tried before.
In Finland BMW driver's don't use turn signal.😁
Psychos usually dont
Whats the real range with 100% capacity? 500 km?
I love the fat e-tron !!❤
Ordering things from Aliexpress has left me less disappointed than seeing what Audi is up to nowadays….
Man, the VW group has lots of catching up to do in the EV space!
The VW group is probably the closest company to Tesla. This is just a bad example, it’s a 5 year old vehicle with a minor facelift. The Q6 e-Tron next year will be very interesting.
The problem with the rolling test it that will auto regen when comming close to another car.
Auto regen was switched off.
@@bjornnyland it will do it even so I belive. To prevent crash. But I am not 100%. Maybe need to get closer. But it seemed like that if it suddenly "braked" comming close
@@evkx Bjørn wasn't close enough for that to happen and if it did trigger the braking it would have flashed up on screen with a loud alarm (the same sound used by the system at the beginning for the SOS error). If regen was in manual mode and paddle regen set to 0 then he was coasting just fine....
I forgot to mention it if it wasn't clear already:
I was in neutral (N). Not possible to regen regardless.
I dont like Virtual Spiegel!😂
Thumb nail could have been "The fat e-tron is now even fatter" :D
I'm saving that one for the 1000 km challenge :P
Nice Mach E GT!
not a big improvement but at least some improvement not like Jaguar who did really nothing on the battery side and a brand new i-Pace will fare no better than a 2019 i-Pace on your 1’000 km challenge. Looking forward to the end of 2023 or early 2024 when you should be able to test the Zeekr 001 😎
In spread sheet battery capacity is listes as 88,9 kWh
Does the Q8 55 not have 106 kWh net capacity ?
Looks like data from Q8 50 or etron 55 was used.
Net capacity
I am getting mine in May. Would have gotten the BMW instead but it’s significantly more expensive, has a smaller boot and no frunk.
It looks like an old fat e-tron with a foliatec upgrade. Teenagers love that blacked out look.
What would the 50 do in range?
70 mph - 220, 55-60 - 247 miles in 10 degree uk weather.
I am getting my iX in four weeks and after watching your great video I strongly feel that I have made the right decision despite some skepticism regarding its exterior which I needed to get used to in the very beginning. However, in the meantime I feel like that the iX is the most progressive looking BEV especially when it comes to the interior. I was having high expectations for the Q8 e-tron SB (and even considered buying one) but I am very disappointed tbh. Unlike many others I don't judge a BEV by its efficiency figures primarily as for me the design language (exterior and interior) is just as important at least. Having said this I feel like this Audi is nothing more than an unsuccessful attempt to catch up with its competitors - what a pity.
Please share your personal experience after a while, I am interested too :)
The front is way better now, and the tapered back is soooo goood.. This is the only Audi i would buy if i had to.
I believe Audi improvements will come with the new EV platform co-developed with Porsche and so from the new A6.
The bulk of the inefficiencies may be in the powertrain.
New Audi name confusion coming up:
Audi models with even numbers = BEV (new A4 will be a pure e-tron)
Audi models with uneven numbers = Not BEV :D (new A5 will be the old A4 without being an e-tron)
#WTF #Audi
114kWh gross, or 106kWh usable.
On paper, yes. Real world is different.
So...doesnt the weight confirm it's probably the same battery pack with extra capacity unlocked?
Nope
What’s up with the German calling the trip mileage “Short term memory”!😂😂 Bjorn, should you have mentioned it? Like you do calling out the Chinese EVs? Lol
I can have a long chat about German car industry. Let's not forget "kWh/h", "auxiliary heater" and "start engine"... lol
Spotify will come this summer.
Only for the q8 built after May 2023. 2024 edition of q8 etron
@@tv9b4u all Q8 is 2024 model.
2024 model production starts from June 2023.

Nice!
Can you test Y SR in 🇳🇴 and 🇸🇪?
Both range test and 1000 km. 👍
Is this "fat etron" chinese type of humour? Can get it
Jaguar i-pace lär vara den bästa.
Iaf av de äldre! 💪
The lady at 00:30 seemed to not like this shit 😁
303Wh/km?
Holy shiiiiiit unefficiency.
You're body shaming him 😅 Be more politically correct and say "body positive e-tron" :)))
The 116 kWh battery is only 27 kg heavier than the 95kWh battery. So There is no weight difference. Just more dencity
114 kWh
@@bjornnyland Correct ;-)
@@bjornnyland why ist the capacitiy in the video 100kWh and not 106 like AUDI says?
Thanks for your complete videos but you must be maybe more neutral 😅… why don t you talk at the end about Mercedes (EQS/EQE SUV)? Even if we know that definitely Audi with this Q8 didn’t do a real new one 😉
More neutral? What are you talking about? By the way, I haven't talked about EQS SUV because I haven't tested it yet.
Why would he, not the same price range. Might as well complain about him not comparing it to a ID4.
ohhhh yeahhhh
should be relevant to compare quickly with Model X Palladium or Plaid please!!!
„Vorsprung durch Technik“ => Rückstand durch Lobbying 😂
Why US? They are the last to get new EVs, and they dont get most of the models we get in Europe.
❤❤❤
Fat etron....... heyy... i resemble that remark!! 😢
Never use turn signals as an Audi driver. Hmmm are Audi driver’s a touch inconsiderate? Or just a-wholes?
We're a-holes. Except when sleeping.
Sleeping in the left lane?
@@bjornnyland Left lane? Correction, that's the VIP lane.
It's crazy how inefficient this car is 😅
Most buyers probably don't care or understand. Marketing is about battery size and here is just "bigger" so they'll claim better range.
@@djtaylorutube i agree with you, the fun part is that i heard a lot of people complaining about the energy cost going up in the last year, but then they bought the least efficient cars on the market.
Efficiency>big battery
@@Baffacof Agree 100,%< I just wish the reviewers that are less tech and more about packaging could at least introduce this.
Every driver understands MPG or the other way with metric.
Nobody buys a car based on petrol tank size. EVER!
Audi software is so outdated compare to other brands.
why would anybody consider a chinese brand in europe ? there is no service for them. totally unnecessary recommendation. best would be if you would always test with smallest oem wheels every car.
Let me guess something surprising... you are not the biggest fan of Audi🤔😂
@Jason Chitty thx for your good reply! In my eyes he talked very often and more about the cons and forget about the improvements like bigger battery, more efficiency and he didn't even mentioned the better, more direkt steering. Personally I don't think the Q8 is as good as for example the iX, but he is definitely not that bad.
@@Arpedk ofc, but it is just a facelift and not a new Generation.
It's a facelift. For a car that was not ment to be an EV in the first place. The fact that is relevant in any way in EV market is remarkable.
@@Jeroenneman it chargers faster than model X and is built better. For less money.
@@Jeroenneman most of the arguments are flawed. It is true that Q8 etron falls short in efficiency department, but not by much (look at the spreadsheet at the end and compare efficiency with iX which is known to be fairly superior). The fit and finish problem with Tesla is old but true to this date (I am a current owner of one), it’s also extremely loud. The max charging speed is mostly irrelevant, depending on the charging infrastructure in your area, charging curve is the most relevant metric and total time to charge, say 300km of range, in which case Q8 etron is pretty much on par with the rest. Have you got anything else?
So still thursty as hell…
Audi thailand sooo expensive ..
The car looks cheap.
Interior have a low standard
The interior quality is very high. The infotainment screen doesn’t look very modern but an upside is that it’s easy to read while driving because font size is huge.
Why don't you take a trip to the US and make some tests on new cars. These recycled cars are getting boring. Or even China
Blame Audi for the recycling. He is testing a 2023 model. Bjorn mentions that little has changed except for some external bits, but those changes can make a significant aerodynamic benefit, hence retesting the "same" vehicle. Audi has left the interior -- and possibly more importantly the interior electronics -- the same when they should have taken some time and fixed some things.
@@aarong9378 do you want me to begin to mention electric cars that have been out for at least 2 years now but Bjorn hasn't tested them because he has confined himself to just Norway. The channel needs to grow and he has to sometimes take a trip outside of Norway and Europe. Rivian, Hummer EV, Tesla model X and so much more are still waiting for Bjorn. God knows I love Bjorn but his Channel is becoming too dull
