17 - Geologic Abstract Art | Intuitive Creative Process Using Watercolors and Mixed Media

- Winter is just around the corner for us here in Maine! For me, this is an exciting time because soon, I'll get to hibernate... hahaha! All kidding aside though, the winter season is a time when things do seem to slow down a little bit for me and I'm looking forward to having more time to paint and, well, to just be. This is also a time of the year when I love to explore the beautiful outdoors. My inspiration for this week's painting is Mother Earth and I hope you'll enjoy my little geologic abstract.

Ca me fait vraiment penser à de la roche sous-marine. Quel rendu, quelle profondeur, je devine les petits poissons cachés dans les interstices de la roche. Mais également quelle patiente d'attendre que chaque couche sèche pour pouvoir continuer ton oeuvre. Bravo et encore bravo !

I watched with wonder how the shadows were enriching the whole ( such a great technique !!!) and the touch of iridescent green played its “Less is more” role with elegance.

So many of your posts have the same or very similar titles, making them hard to find again. An acrylic artist i follow (Designer Gemma77), puts a number in front of each post, like (826). If there is one i want to return to later, I capture a screen shot of that post's finished product, including that identifying # = very easy to return to. Might you consider doing the same so there is a specific ID with each of your outstanding works? Thanks.

I wonder if you might know of a comparable alternative to the Tropical Sunrise Magic Green ? I am not able to get this where I am. It looks so beautiful. Is it kind of a glitter or metallic paint?
Oh my goodness! Yes, this Magic Green is quite spectacular and I have not been able to find an exact replacement elsewhere. Pink Pearl (from this little CSY Art Gallery set:amzn.to/47QfJb5) has some similar qualities when applied very lightly, but it will also give off a pinkish hue. Also, this little set here: amzn.to/3sYq9qm has some colors that could somewhat mimic the effect of magic green (in particular Mint and Chocolate Green). None of these colors of course are the same as Magic Green. I'll keep looking and if I come across anything else, I will make sure to let you know 🤗

Hi ☺️ Thank you for your kindness! I use art tape I get either from Amazon or Dick Blick's Art supplies. It is a low tack tape that works really well with watercolor paper. I am happy to see you're feeling inspired to pick up your watercolors again 💕 Happy creating!! 🎨

Where can we purchase the “magic green” Color you use?
All of the product I used to make this painting are listed in my video description, below the video. I do this for every video 😉 If you're not sure how to find this, I made this little video to show where to locate the video description: th-cam.com/video/hyGdK2SgT3A/w-d-xo.html. Kremer Pigments are available across the US and in Europe. If for some reason you cannot find it in your area, CSY Art Gallery also makes this an interference green which is very similar to the Tropical Sunrise Magic Green: amzn.to/3PfBfQ0. I hope this helps ☺️

Hi ☺️ I actually did not use silver or gold in this painting 😉 What I did use is Tropical Sunrise Magic Green and I love it because it gives the illusion of something sparkly that's not always easy to pin point. Thank you for making the time to watch and connect ❤️
