How to Create Abstract Art Using Watercolors & Mixed Media | Intuitive Neurographic Art

  • Sometimes (often) I have no idea where my creative process will take me. I just start and trust that as I go along, my intuition will guide me into creating something I really love. It's not even about starting with an idea, but really just trusting that what needs to come out on my paper, will show up exactly as it should be. This week was no exception and I'm super happy with the little painting I was able to create.

    Absolutely love you watercolor prep. It’s interesting to me that this artwork is so popular. I doodled like this in Elementary school. I am 71 years old. I doodled on my homework. My artwork was very different in school and I was made fun of. Now I am doing this type of artwork. I have taught the method to children on the spectrum. What they like, is I tell them there are no mistakes in creating the method of art.
    Thank you for the should concept. Wonderful.

    I'm recovering from shoulder surgery and have stumbled across your videos. Thank you for helping me find some peace and focus through this difficult process. I am a quilter, also from Maine! I've got a 6-10 month recover so quilting is out of the question for a long time. I am left handed which is the side my surgery is on so I cannot use it. Last year I discovered Intense Watercolor Pencils and have been using them to enhance my art quilts. Finding your videos, I've created a Neurographic watercolor piece using the Intense. I've learned a lot from your videos.... especially relaxation. Since I'm trying to paint with my right hand, thank goodness there are few rules to follow and I do not have to be perfect. It's challenging to say the least, but I am loving it! Thanks so much for your videos! Elisabeth

      Thank you so much for making the time to reach out and connect with me, Elisabeth ❤️🤗 I am inspired by your ability to work through this difficult time by finding ways to continue being creative with your non dominant hand! That is impressive and something tells me you are learning a lot about your ability to overcome these challenges in your life. I can only imagine just how much more your quilts will be beautiful once your shoulder is fully healed and you can return to quilting with all the new ideas and skills you will have developed during this time. You are reminding me that where there is a will, there is a way 💕 Letting go of perfection has helped my heal in so many ways - yay for us embracing the beauty of the perfect imperfections in our daily creativity ☺️ I see horses on your profile picture ❤️ They too are such an inspiration to me - such beautiful and empathic beings they are. 🥰

    The beauty of your art is a reflection of you, friend.
    First of all, thank you for sharing those images of Maine in January-they look magical. You and your hubby look happy-and that makes me happy.
    Second, you are such a great teacher. Many artists post themselves painting-so few bother to explain their thought process. But you do. Your intuitive painting is beautiful, intuitive, and within anyone’s reach-if we’re brave enough.
    Thank you for always sharing. Giving. You are a kind soul. And you can expect lots of zen coming your way. Truly.
    Now, on to the rest of the video.

Together we are making the world even more beautiful than it already is. 🥰 Thank you for watching! I found your channel after CeeCee gave you a shout out in response to your shout out to her. I enjoy your videos each week and have found we have some parallels besides loving to paint and watching CeeCee. I moved to Auburn Maine from West Bolton Vt almost 2 years ago. Loved my home in VT and now love my home here in ME. I used to have 20 acres of forest to hike and snowshoe in but now live near forests where I can still do that. And after all that recent snow, I have shoveled paths for my dogs that are maze like. Welcome to Maine fellow Vermonter and I look forward to your next video.

    Absolutely gorgeous universe captured within the painting. It took me on a journey, travelling from grass into water, which collected me into its waves to sky and fluffy clouds, but those clouds became part of connecting starts in galaxy that floated independently but when continued to look deeper they are all connected and when you turned it upside down it was like a lady with one big sun connected all of it and walking away into space. Just mesmerising. Thank you 🙏

    Thank you for sharing your process and wonderful thoughts! I really like what you said about making an abstract representation of the universe! I find myself getting so stuck in trying to draw more realistically when I’m not fond of all the fiddle details necessary in making realistic artwork. But making abstract representations of things totally appeals to me!

    • @gabrielleannacormierart
      @gabrielleannacormierart  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jay ☺️ I totally get what you’re saying! Abstract work is so much more freeing! Realism is such an exercise in patience and attention to detail. Though it can be nice to work in this way, it is also very liberating to approach creativity in a much more imaginative way. Thank you for your kind words and for making the time to watch and to connect! Happy creating 🎨🤗

    Bonjour, Gabrielle, cette aquarelle me fait penser à de l'art autochtone par la palette de couleurs utilisées et ces formes fluides. Cette parcelle de l'univers que tu nous partages est très très belle.
    Quand tu décris la phase "laide" du tableau en cour, ce peut aussi être une métaphore pour les phases difficiles ou laides que nous traversons dans la vie. Il s'agit de faire confiance à son intuition, et persévérer jusqu'au retour de la beauté. Merci de partager ton processus créatif et ce qu'il te fait vivre du début à la fin. 🙂

    • @gabrielleannacormierart
      @gabrielleannacormierart  ปีที่แล้ว

      Bonjour ❤️🤗 D'abord et avant tout, merci!!! J'apprécie tellement la gentillesse transmise dans ton message 🥰 Et oui!!! J'adore la métaphore! C'est pourquoi j'adore les libellules, les papillons et les nénuphars. On traverse tous des étapes difficiles. C'est bien parti de la vie. Quand on choisit de persévérer dans tout ce qu'on fait, on apprend, on devient plus résilient et notre sagesse grandit elle aussi. Merci de voir et de partager les messages qui touchent ton beau grand coeur.🥰

    Et quelle joie pour moi de regarder. Cette fois je prends le temps pour la partie aquarelle (pas comme d'habitude où je mélange un peu n'importe comment). Les tracés viendront plus tard, plus patiemment.
    J'espère alors être plus satisfaite du résultat, même si mon papier n'apprécie pas le sel (dommage).
    Merci pour cette jolie video.

      Allô Martine ❤️ que ça me fait plaisir de te lire! Merci encore d’être si gentille! Pour ce qui est du sel, le papier (ou plutôt la qualité du papier) change les effets. Mais, j’ai aussi remarqué que les effets changent aussi quand on change la quantité d’eau sur notre papier. J’aime d’expérimenter et je t’encourage de le faire aussi. C’est tellement amusant de voir les belles découvertes qu’on fait en changeant quelques petites variables. Amuse toi bien 🤗
