Aster-30 SAMP/T (Deployment Overview)

ASAster 30-SAMP/T is the mobile anti-aircraft defence weapon designed and manufactured by MBDA. It protects sensitive sites and deployed forces against missile and aircraft threats, replacing all existing medium range ground-to-air systems.
Aster 30-SAMP/T is designed to meet medium and long range air defence needs and can be operated in stand alone mode or as part of an integrated, co-ordinated network.
The Aster 30-SAMP/T system comprises:
Fire control functionality based on a Command and Control system (an engagement module connected to multi-function Arabel radar.
Up to six vertical launchers each fitted with eight Aster 30 missiles.
In addition to its 360° degree capabilities, Aster 30-SAMP/T is highly automated and benefits from rapid response times, a high rate of fire, high build-in test capability and streamlined crew requirements - as only two people are required to operate the system. In addition, Aster 30-SAMPT/T meets demanding strategic and tactical mobility requirements, with all vehicles off-road capable and air-transportable in C130-class aircraft.
