This is how I remember the northern line when I lived in Finchley back in the 90s. Thankyou for the upload, good memories, can't believe over 20 years have passed.
An interesting time on the Northern Line with 3 completely different type of trains (59, 72 and 95) operating! Seeing the 59s running down the Edgware branch certainly brings back memories, but I much prefer the 95s!
Ron, did the 1972mk1 get the chop from the Northern line by this time? I understand that they got withdrawn first as they were a smaller bunch and they were not reliable as they were ordered quickly and rushed off the production line, they used the 1967 stock design.

I loved the tube trains when they were unpainted. Such a raw and stark big city look about them.
You recorded this back in 1998??
Wow! That's awesome!
1998 is my birth-year, nice video!

Northern Line 1959 Tube Stock
Seems older than 98 to me
The 4th of Feb 1998 and the very last video-8 tape I recorded but I agree. It could have been Feb 1989?
@@ronsmith3554 Agreed. This seems like the late 80s to me.
Everything was raw but felt so happy.
Would have been nice to have seen more :(
Sorry that's all I took (wish it had been more though).

I thought the 1995 stock ran in that time
period
Yes but it was being progressively rolled out onto the line.
